When your LO got their one year shots did they give them in the arms or legs?
Between the big move and long wait lists to get into a new pediatrician we just now got Maddie's vaccinations up to date. They gave them to her in her arms and her arms are black and blue. They said it's because she is fully walking and running now. At the last pediatrician they gave them in her legs even when she was crawling with short bursts of walking.
They were trying to hold her down to do it and it looked like the needle went much deeper than it should have. She has to go back in 6 weeks for more shots and I'll request them in her legs.
I'm not sure why they chose arm over leg either. She's in 50th percentile for weight and only 5th percentile for height.

My LO's injections at one year were all deltoid. Our ped does them himself and always switches to arms at a year. O is a big guy, so it wasn't worrisome, but my youngest DD was tiny for her age, and I cringed. So sorry your Maddie is all bruised up.

Ours were one in each arm and she bruised but was fine and happy 30 minutes later so I didn't think twice about the placement.
Do any of you use an app to do a monthly budget? Which one? I'm looking to get more organized with how much I'm spending per day and on what. I would prefer something in my phone and not something on my computer

I haven't used it for about 6 months but I used to use mint. You link it to your bank account/credit cards and put in your budget. It then let's you know how much you're spending on what and how much you have left in your budget total and specific categories. Sorry if I didn't explain it very well it kind of hard to explain and its 430am. But I LOVED this app. It helped me a lot.

I have a question that's more because I'm curious than anything else.
Is it typical for a toddler to be obsessed with learning to walk?
Wednesday morning A finally stood up by himself from the ground. Yesterday he was starting to take steps. Now getting up off the ground and taking steps is all he wants to do. Like 24/7. I tried to get him to play with toys but he really just wants to try to walk whereas 48 hours ago he could not have cared less.
I jut feel bad because my H is missing it all as we are still at the beach without him.
bookninja we used to have the mesh bumpers until J started standing, now I don't trust her.
Okay, so I know J isn't the only petite one on the board, so maybe it won't surprise you that she's still in the plastic bathtub. It is getting a bit snug, what do I move on to? My sister has a bath seat that she uses for my niece but it's no longer sold. Do your LOs just sit directly in the regular tub?
I'm impressed she still tolerates it with DS we used the baby tub til he was sitting well on his own and trying to get out of it. With LO I'd be surprised if er even used it 5 times with her. Before she was sitting I would either go in the tub with her or just put a very low amount of water and lay her in it. Once she was able to sit up she didn't like to lay in the tub anymore though. If you're concerned about slipping you can get a gripper mat for the tub (assuming it isn't textured already)
turtle yes completely. Do you have any toys that encourage walking or pushing something? That can help peak their interest
I do have a couple of push toys that he's had for a couple months and loves. This is the first time he's wanted to walk without help though. Up and down and up and down for two hours at a time. It's exhausting watching him!

That is cute! We have a push lawnmower and one of those popper things but he hasn't been able to really use them yet. I will be sure to introduce them again to him when we are home from vacation.

Yes and it's been that way for 2 months since he learned. Because there is learning to step over things, and go faster, and walk while caring things, and bending to grab things... Seriously all O does all day is walk!
We just use those really tiny black rubber bands for her ponys. She hasn't pulled one out yet:)
These-
We use rubber ones like this, too, but I do hate how they are hard to get out and pull her hair.
I just don't think there is a good alternative until she is old enough/there is enough hair for regular hairbands.
I tried the goodys and I think her hair is still too thin because they slip right out. I guess for now I'll wait on the ponies until she gets more hair.
stinybean, E has been in the regular tub since he started full time army crawling. I'd just put a few inches in and let him crawl and play in the water. Now that he is sitting I let the water get to about his hips. He loves it, the only problem I have is keeping him from standing in the tub.
stinybean We have been in the regular tub for awhile now, but the first few times she slid around a lot and it really scared her. We tried having her sit in a laundry basket in the tub, and it works really well. No sliding, and plus all of her toys stay right there inside the basket with her. I saw the suggestion on FB.

I was gone from the board for a long time. The entire time I have been back, I have been trying to find out what SQ stands for. Why am I not getting this?!
H has pretty much always been in the regular tub. We use/d the bath chair.
We have the TV on and off as mostly background noise. She'll watch maybe 10 minutes of Sesame Street or Daniel Tiger throughout the day but that's about it. I'm glad to see that it is a fairly common practice because I was a little worried.
I also use the clear little rubber bands for her hair. They work really well.
We love mint!!
I can't remember anything else asked/talked about. It's been a rough weekend and I'm exhausted.

Mals shots have always been in his legs. I may pas out if they start doing them in his arms soon. Makes me light headed reading about all your LOs getting them there.
With A going to the toddler room next week, the daycare sent home a list of things we should have for him. One of them is an insulated lunch bag with ice pack. Does anyone have any recommendations for what to get or not to get. I know I can go basic, but I don't want to regret not getting something more useful later down the road.
Baby gates question. I know by now I should really have my shit together but until now, we haven't really needed one in this particular spot. Does anyone have a baby gate for a wide space - like 92 inches? What do you have?
I don't know why I'm finding this so hard. Ive been searching everywhere & there seems to be nothing between 90 inches & the next biggest at 192, which seems unnecessary. Pls give me your recs if you have a wide gate!
We had this one for a really wide opening between rooms in our old house, it worked well:
This is a pregnancy related one.. Going to dentist this afternoon, should I wear shield for X-ray or opt out?
During my check up, I didn't get one done, but after my exam, they found several cavities. I let them do one right before filling a cavity because they needed to know how deep it was.
