Today is my last day home with J and I'm a hot freaking mess. I took him into school with me for about 2 hours to get some things done. We're home, he's asleep on my shoulder, and I don't want to put him down. The tears have slowed, but I need to pull myself together. Gah. This is the worst.

Conversation with the first person I see upon returning to the office:
Leonard the Cleaning Guy: HEY!! I haven't seen you in awhile!!! Kim: Yeah, it's been about 6 months! Leonard: You look like you've put on a few pounds!!

SERIOUSLY?!!?!?
... like since you were 9 months pregnant?! Fuck to the no. I hope you kneed him in the balls.

I am so sorry. There is no sugarcoating it, it IS the worst. Enjoy those snuggles momma.
Day eleventy 500 billion in the saga of The Tooth That Refuses to Come: I've started to realize that it is completely possible to not like the baby. Also, I've seriously considered day drinking as a new hobby.

No jury would convict you. I'll help you bury the body.
I'm thinking about switching to a convertible car seat. The bucket seat is getting too heavy. It's nice to be able to click it into the stroller and go though.

We have been using a convertible in one of our cars since she was born and we love it. I was just thinking that now that she is big enough to sit in a high chair at a restaurant I am so ready to kick the !%#$ bucket seat to the curb! Will probably wait for a good Black Friday carseat deal though.

I sold our single stroller for the money for a convertible seat and it just came in. I'm dying to get it installed...but will probably wait until summer is over (not a fan of hot carseats).

Are convertibles hotter? I never even noticed! I guess our bucket seat is black and our convertibles are not but I still never noticed a difference. I am not very observant...

Fuckin' really??? Dear Lord. My head would have been spinning around as rage spewed forth from every possible orifice of my body. Yes. Every.single.one.

Just the fact that it stays in the car vs being taken out, so interior temperature of the car makes a difference. I don't always have time to cool the car down fully when it's hot out

Oh! Bahahaha so I don't notice because I don't ever take the bucket seat out of my car. Duh, peaches.

OMG yes to the infant carrier being too heavy. We have 1 convertible car seat, but haven't installed it yet. He's going to outgrow the infant carrier in the next 2ish months is my guess, but I'm hoping we can put off getting the 2nd convertible until Black Friday. Darn kid being long AND heavy.
I think J has a tooth coming in. She's been a bear the past 2 nights. My H has strep so I ended up just bringing her into bed with me. She slept better but would wake up hysterical. Usually her wake ups are just her squawking.
She's been fussing today too. I picked up some of the teething tablets and gave her 2- that seemed to help for awhile.
We haven't even picked out convertible seats yet, let alone bought them. I can't figure out how I'd manage daycare drop-offs and pick-ups without the bucket. Scary stuff...
We're going to switch to a convertible in October, our bucket seat expires then. I'm so ready to be done with it, ours has straps that adjust in the back which is seriously annoying and we've used it with 3 kids. SO DONE. I'm waiting til Kohls has their next Kohls cash deal and purchase one then and use the Kohls cash and gift cards to buy the second one. I think that's the best deal. I also have a 15% off Target registry coupon. I'm not sure what to do yet.

I had one of those bucket seats and it was THE DEVIL and no one believed me that such a thing existed. I borrowed a bucket seat from a (very safety-conscious and carseat-savvy) friend this time around because ain't no one got time for that shit. I hope you burn it when you are done with it.

They truly are evil. Burning it sounds like a good idea! I'd been planning different ways to take out my anger with that stupid seat when we're done with it. I wanted to buy a new one this time around, but it didn't make sense money wise since it's our last baby.

I've been thinking about not pulling the bucket seat out of my car anymore. So heavy! I am trying to wait until she's sitting a little more reliably, but she is so close. Planning on buying a convertible seat on Black Friday. I need to check the date on the extra convertible we have and see if it's a viable option. Just added that to my to do list.
So what kind of convertible seats are you getting? I'm not sure what I want. I don't want to spend a ton, but I don't want something that is low quality either.

We have the britax marathon from when ds switched over to rear facing. We love it and it was $50 off two years ago on Black Friday. We just moved him into a forward facing only seat and C into his rear facing convertibles.
