Just the fact that it stays in the car vs being taken out, so interior temperature of the car makes a difference. I don't always have time to cool the car down fully when it's hot out
Oh! Bahahaha so I don't notice because I don't ever take the bucket seat out of my car. Duh, peaches.
Wut? Your kid doesn't fall asleep in the bucket seat?

I've always used the Britax Marathon as our post-infant seat. When DS2 needed a convertible, we moved DS1 to the Graco Nautilus and DS2 took his Marathon. Our Marathon is about to expire, so now DS2 is also in the Nautilus (but he's almost 4 and no longer is RF.)
I will likely get a new Marathon for K when she needs a new seat. But I plan on keeping her in her Graco SnugRide 35lx for as long as possible.
So what kind of convertible seats are you getting? I'm not sure what I want. I don't want to spend a ton, but I don't want something that is low quality either.
Unfortunately you will probably spend a ton. Even the cheaper brands are pricey! We have 2 Britax Marathons and a Graco4Ever and love them both. I almost wish I would have gotten a Diono to allow for more extended rear facing as DD1 will be reaching the limits on the Marathon sooner than I would like. We also have an Evenflo for travel (Tribute maybe?? Don't remember).

We have a graco milestone in both cars for DS. I liked it because it's was cheaper than the 4ever but basically the same seat minus the backless booster. I'll deal with getting a backless booster when the time comes. I'll probably get another one for DD on Black Friday. They've gone on sale the last 2 years so hopefully they do again.

We have the Britax Boulevard Click Tight. We also have a Graco My Ride 65 but it's big, hard to install, and is hard to get tight. So it's in my husband's car. When this baby is ready for a convertible we will have the nice Britax seats in my car since I'm primarily the one driving the girls and the Graco ones in his car.
We switched DD1 to a convertible at 10 months and she stayed rear facing until 2 years 8 months. Not sure when we'll make the switch this time.

We have the britax marathon from when ds switched over to rear facing. We love it and it was $50 off two years ago on Black Friday. We just moved him into a forward facing only seat and C into his rear facing convertibles.
This pretty much exactly. I haven't moved E yet but dd1 has been moved to the britax Frontier because I got it on prime day. E will move to her boulevard in a couple months. I love it and can't wait to not deal with the straps on her bucket seat.

We kept V in the bucket for as long as possible in order to make daycare easier. When she switched to the convertible, we bought 2 so we could have one in each car, and then we'd have the second when R needed it (I was already pregnant by then). I'm probably going to switch to the convertible for R when the weather cools down.
We got Dionos. Pricey, but worth it for the extended rear facing capability, and we waited for a good deal on Amazon. If you want recommendations on good seats that are more affordable, I highly recommend joining the FB group 'Car Seats for The Littles'. You can give your kid's stats, the car it's going into, and what you are looking for and they can help you find the right seat. They will also help with installs and help you find a tech in your area if you need it. It's a great group. I've learned a ton just from reading other people's posts there.

We switched to the convertible car seat at 4 months old. Both my kids hated the infant bucket seats and would scream in them, but ride great in the convertible car seats. We have Peg Perego in the van and the Graco Size4me in the SUV and I love them both!
Conversation with the first person I see upon returning to the office:
Leonard the Cleaning Guy: HEY!! I haven't seen you in awhile!!! Kim: Yeah, it's been about 6 months! Leonard: You look like you've put on a few pounds!!
SERIOUSLY?!!?!?
WTF?! How does he think it'd okay to comment on personal appearance? I am sorry he is a jerk!
We have Graco Mysize for DD and will get something similar for Brady. It's easy to install and easy to use. I like the new Graco Extend2fit. We need a compact seat and so far reviews say they're known to be. We'll hopefully test install at BRU since they allow you to do so before we buy anything.
What do you do when nothing makes your kid happy? We had one of those days yesterday and I feel like I have permanent hearing loss from from the screaming. I felt like a shit mom and had trouble sleeping because of it. He woke up at 2:00. Our daycare lady text at 3:00 to let me know her family had been sick all weekend. I woke up covered in milk at 4:00 and up for the day at 5:00. It's going to be a long day.

We have these exact same ones! DS has the Graco and I kind of hate it. Just doesn't really seem as sturdy as I think a carseat should be. I just bought the Boulevard for V as the height limit is higher than the Marathon (My kids are tall and skinny).
I haven't put ours in yet, but how's the clicktight install?
Also anyone still dealing with hair shedding? I'm so done with it!!
It's not as bad as it was initially, but I did have to unclog the shower drain yesterday so maybe I am fooling myself
I clog it every wash, so a few times a week. Grrr! I've always shed more than average but this is just ridiculous. A good bit more comes out while drying it too. Good thing I have a lot of hair I guess!

It was so much easier! It's easier to get the straps tight too. We love this seat, and I'm now very loyal to Britax! (We have a Britax bucket seat too).

I have bald patches in the front of my head.
I lose handfuls still every day
No bald patches here, but I do lose handfuls. I cut back on how much I wash my hair recently because of it. Washing, brushing, and styling make it worse for me.

Cry, pour myself a glass of wine, and make DH tell me I'm a good momma.
I am like 95% serious. Hugs to you and I hope your day gets better. You're a good momma.

Yesterday my friend came over and I left K laying on the floor in the room with her while I went to go do something. My friend was on the couch mostly looking at her phone. I came back in the room like 3 minutes later and K was sitting up. I asked my friend if she sat her up and she casually said "no, she did that. I thought she could always do that... wait, did I just witness a milestone?"
I then spent the next hour trying to get K to do it again and of course she just laid there giggling at me.
