We registered around 20 weeks. Weeks before that we started researching everything. One this at time. Then went from there. Everything except clothes (even some of those) are neutral colors so we can use it again. On the monitors - yes! Love it! Sometimes you need to go in and sometimes you don't. It's really nice to know which it is by looking. On where to sleep early on. We have a tiny apartment with tiny rooms. We had her in our room in the Rock and play for 2 and half month or so. It was so nice those early weeks when still waking up. After that it was piece of mind for a bit and then we moved her to the rock and play in her room and then to her crib. No issues. She also never woke up when we went in but we also had an AC going so it acting like white noise.
When room sharing, white noise machines are the BEST. Even now that we are not room-sharing anymore, they are still the best. One of my biggest sleep regrets is not getting a sound machine sooner. Lol. BUY A WHITE NOISE/SOUND MACHINE!!
ladytiffany24, when I see your screen name, my brain sings (to the tune of Breakfast at Tiffany's),
Well I say, what about, it's Lady Tiffany! I said I think I'm pregnant at the same time Yes I recall, I think we both kinda like it And I said, well that's the one thing we got!

I just learned about babylist. Apparently you register on it and it takes you to specific retailer, so you can combine all kinda of random stuff not specific to any store. I think I might try it mostly to keep myself organized I don't need much

Yes to monitors I wished I got a video one but we've made it 2 years without so we'll see for this new LO.
Also didn't use a white noise but DS was a good sleeper, although I'm thinking if trying it out now since he seems to be more sensitive to his surroundings and it's gonna be special adding a crying baby to it.
I just had a basinet and the pnp next to my bed until he was able to roll and scootch at about 6 months old. Transferring to crib was no big deal to DS.

Well we found out what was wrong with me. I have a severe case of strep throat. Taking antibiotics and I should feel better late tomorrow. I haven't had this since I was 9 or so; it's brutal.

So much this. We got one of the cheap stuffed animal ones from BRU. It times out which I like. You can also select from 5(?) different noises. We use one that sounds like a heartbeat over an ultrasound. DS is 15m and we still use it for him.
awww @priss08 strep sucks, but at least it's treatable with antibiotics. You should feel better quickly now that you're on antibiotics. Take it easy, hope you feel a million times better by tomorrow!
Hello all! Been a busy weekend, since H was home at night 3 days in a row! Lots of quality family time, which was much needed. He's back at work tonight, so here I am.
Catching up, another vote for white noise machines and monitors! We have a video monitor and love it. DD has taken to shutting herself in her room during the day and playing, and I realized that instead of having to follow her, I can just turn on the monitor and watch her until she needs me to open the door.
As for white noise machines, DD has had 1 since day 1 (she slept in our room until 5 weeks, when we realized she sleeps much better alone, without the dogs constantly up and down all night). We will 110% get one for baby #2, and heck, we may get a third to put in the hallway between their doors. We live in a ranch, so there isn't much space between sleeping babies and noise in the rest of the house, so the white noise machine has been a life saver!
Speaking of baby names, my H is so "sure" that this one is a girl, he agreed to a small list of my favorite boy names that he previously vetoed. YASSSSSSSS.

I thought my DH was hard w boy names! He just can't decided and there are lists of names I like if this LO is a girl, we had names picked out w DS by the time we had our anatomy scan so we'll see.
Call me crazy but once I could feel them moving a round I wanted to name them lol
I'm with you callmeKD! DH and I are ok at girl names but boy names are so hard!! So not really sure what we're going to do this time around. He vetos most names I suggest so we'll probably just end up settling on something we don't hate.
In the most fucked up turn of events, apparently I can't eat ice cream without getting violently sick afterwards. I mean isn't one of the only positives of pregnancy the ability to eat all the ice cream with no judgement?
I'm sorry that BLOWS. I hope your body changes that up right quick.
