Ok this is going to get sappy... I feel like I have turned a corner. I don't know if it was baby blues or what, but I had been dutifully taking care of baby O but not really enjoying her. I was even sometimes annoyed that she "messed up" our groove with one kid. But now, it's like suddenly I just *love* her. Maybe it's all the smiles and eye contact and fun interactions we are getting now. Last night I could not stop kissing her little cheeks! It's nice to finally enjoy her 😉

Waiting for the pedi to call back. I noticed a small fluid filled bump on DS's head last night while feeding. I tried to Google and there's not much info other than "it's fine and goes away on its own". But who knows, anyone ever have that?
DS is starting his second week of daycare - he's going for three hours a day so that he's not too rattled when I go back to work in January (he had the whole summer at home with us). I had a ton of guilt at first, but he loves his friends and it's so nice to have one on one time with DD.

quirks good luck! Have a great day back and enjoy a hot cup of coffee without simultaneously holding a baby!!!
My house is a mess due to traveling all weekend so the laundry room is calling my name. Not very motivated to get stuff done today. Hopefully just get everything out away and I'll call it a win.

Is it red? And sort of looks like a giant mole. If so DD had one called a haemangioma. It got bigger before it started to go away. It was completely gone by 1.
Dropped DD1 off for her first day of preschool ever. I did not cry only because I am not a big crier. But now I am avoiding going home. I took the other kids to the park. DD1 keeps DD2 entertained usually.

spicysalmonroll, DD has a bump on her head but she's had it since birth. I was told it was from her being stuck in the birth canal. She originally had one on each side of her head but one has gone down. We were told that the other would eventually go down as well.

I desperately need this kid to sleep so I can help my other kid get to sleep! It's amazing how much of my life revolves around sleep these days. (I'm the only one not getting any ... Not fair)

EllieT My baby definitely runs hot so she sweats in a lot of outfits. I put her in a little Gerber onesie under the swaddle. Sometimes I put on socks depending how her feet feel. You can always adjust the outfit MOTN if something isn't working out.
EllieT - I always keep DS naked when swaddled. Our apartment is usually around 78-82 degrees F, and I think he'd be too hot with more on than that.
We've had three nights of decent sleep over here, so I'm feeling great today. Like a PP said (I'm on mobile, hard to tag!) I feel like I'm just starting to really enjoy DS. We are no where near on a schedule, but being able to count on getting enough sleep at night and at least a couple of naps during the day is made me feel a lot more human, and I think the fact that breastfeeding has finally stopped hurting has helped a lot too. I went on a nice long walk with both DS and our dog and I actually thought to myself "hey - maybe I CAN do this whole 'mom' thing!" Since I don't really have a choice, that's probably a good thing!

I had the same guilt over sending DS to daycare when I'm at home with the newborn. But I know the routine and curriculum is good for him. I also love that I get to have that one on one newborn time with DD that I was able to have with DS.

Same here. In the winter we did footed pjs or a long sleeve onesie with socks.
They gave me a steroid cream and we go back in a month. The hope is that they adhesions soften enough that they can just numb him a bit and fix it without surgery.
He slept through the entire appt, like a champ. Also, he weighs 11lb 4oz already. Chunky baby!!

I'm so tired and our house is a mess because we were out and about all weekend. I'm realizing how much easier it is to manage a newborn when I'm out of the house a good chunk of the day. This wouldn't be true if she didn't sleep well in her carseat or ktan. Yesterday she slept over 3 hours in the ktan at the state fair. She woke up for a little bit and was not so impressed:
