Only the 2 usual wakeups. So no complaints. The spitting up seems to have gotten a little better too. Swimming class this morning and then my family is visiting for the night.

When did you start swimming classes? I'd love to do that with them but figured they are too young at this point.
E slept from 10-3 again! Which was great. But then he was up at 4:30 and 6 (and is still up!). Even though I had a nice stretch, I'm still tired! Oh well.
We are going to baby story hour at the library this morning. I have no idea if he will get anything out of it, but I love the library - so off we go!

There's a center here that starts at 4 weeks. We started at 2 months, when a neighbor told me about them. It's mostly singing songs and getting used to being in the water. But it's fun and gets me out of the house to meet other moms with babies the same age. And it's free.
G slept through the night again!!!! 11-8. M slept 6 hours. Both woke up in great moods.
M has an angry red lump where he got his shot yesterday. I'm assuming a little local reaction is normal, right? Any reason to call the pediatrician?
Nope. We arevtold to call if we see red streaks near the injection site, if fever exceeds 102, or if the hard, red lump reaches the size of an adult hand

Now I'm
I need to check out our library's story time soon. And I just need to pick up reading again. Maybe going would motivate me to check out books.

Omg me too. I haven't read anything since he was born! And normally I read every day. I could easily read a book instead of my phone. Seems like effort, but I know I would enjoy it.

We've been going to this and at first I felt silly because she was so young she wouldn't really listen to a story, but it's more songs and board books. She loves the singing and watching the other babies.

So much yes to the book instead of the phone. It's my connection to the world outside my house, but I wouldn't need it if I would just leave my house.
hannahbear let us know how story time goes! There is one at the bookstore across from our apartment but I feel silly taking them at this age... but maybe I should try it!
We've been busy. Tuesday we went to the playground and then ran a few errands. Wednesday both kids had their checkups. DS is 12lbs 5oz. He got two shots and screamed for a bit. Then it was B's turn. She had to get 5. After the first one she screamed and the next 4 were like pure torture. She kept screaming at the top of her lungs "no please don't do it". It was so sad. So we went to popcorn park zoo afterwards. We had never been, you can feed a ton of animals popcorn though. It was cool.
She's had a few heart issues in the past but last nov the Cardi told us he didn't hear the murmur and 2 defects closed, one was still there but minor. Well yesterday at the pedi "she still has the murmur". But he said we can wait until next nov (as planned) to go back to the Cardi. I want to go right now and hear that she really is fine.
Yesterday we did the playground, then my docs appt, then lunch, a museum, and dinner with friends.
The baby will cry out during her nap, then resettle. I've been letting her do this and getting longer naps that way. Well the 2 yr old is not on board with my plan at all! She just repeats, "Mommy hear da baby? Baby crying! Mommy get her!"
Reading what you people do all day makes me feel so lazy.
But, I am about to get baby girl up to walk to the post office and pick up a package. Wheeeeeee.
Then I'm continuing with the kitchen clean out. Baptism orientation is tomorrow morning, then my sister's, then home to finish kitchen prep.
You are not lazy.
With 1 it was easy for me to hang out at home. With B and the baby, it's impossible. She gets bored just being in the house and starts making me crazy.

Yesterday I reminded DH that when DD1 was a newborn I was so overwhelmed thinking I needed to be with her every minute (and she ate so often and slept so little) that one time I didn't get to the dishes for 3 days. I told him I was grateful that I've learned a little more along the way and now can sort of manage the household at least. One kid - it's not a joke. All my 3TM friends IRL agree.
Me (30) MH (32) Dx: MFI (low all the things) M. 10/11. TTC Since 01/14 IUI#1-3(Letrozole + Trigger) = BFN Second Opinion. Changed RE's. IVF 09/15 Long Lupron 12R/9M/8F, Transferred 1=BFN. 4 frosties. FET #1 12/15 Transferred 1 (3 still on ice)
I just thought about my wording and that could've come out wrong. I'm not saying having 1 is "easy" at all. I just meant that now it's easier for me to be out than at home, where before it was easier to be home than out.

Agree! With 1 I was content to do nothing. With two I go stir crazy.
Today I went out to the playground and story hour with both kids by myself. Both were good and I survived. Now I'm hoping DD goes down for a nap after her TV show. And also hope DS will nap at some point so I can nap or relax.
Story time at the library was fun! He was the youngest baby, though there was a three month old and several four month olds. There were songs and props (egg shaker and scarf) and board books. He may have been a little young for it, but he was alert and smiled during the singing and playing. I also met some really nice people. Glad I went - I have a new Friday activity!

Even if he's too young to "get it" it's a great way for you to meet other moms

I just remembered that there was a breastfeeding group I wanted to attend as soon as DS got his 2 mo. vaccines - he's getting them on Thursday and the group meets on Fridays... I probably should wait until the following Friday, right? Either way, I'm so excited to join some sort of moms' group.
I'm having a rough day and need an outlet so sorry ladies but you are it. I'm having a day where I'm feeling like a terrible mother, I'm so impatient and annoyed by both kids. DD isn't feeling well so she's extra needy and being a typically toddler. DS will not be sleep independent of me unless I'm his car seat in the car or stroller. He had finally fallen asleep this afternoon when it was time for DDs nap. She pitched a fit and since DS was in my arms I couldn't just carry her upstairs. I snapped at her and yelled which then woke DS up. Now DS is overly tired and DDs fever has spiked. I'm also feeling extra impatient with DS to sleep away from me, between BF and him sleeping all night on me I'm over it. And having DH give a bottle while helpful it still means I have to pump, so IMO not sure helpful. I keep reminding myself DS is only 6 weeks old and DD was like this too. So instead of enjoying him I'm wishing time to move ahead. Needless to say a lot of tears have been shed by all this afternoon.

meagpt22 - Hugs. I think we've all had many days like that. I was so fed up with DS's inability to sleep more than an hour at a time last night that I snapped a few times, while I didn't yell "at" him, I definitely yelled... "about" him, as DH tried to get him back asleep. This shit is HARD. I don't know how you moms for more than 1 do it, it sounds exhausting - especially when one of those is a toddler.
Also - and remember, this is coming from a FTM - I don't think there is anything wrong with anxiously awaiting your LO to move on to a stage you're happier about. I have never been a baby person, and while I love how tiny and cute my DS is right now, I can't wait to be able to do more with him, and especially to be able to entertain him with anything other than food. Wishing they would grow past a certain stage doesn't actually make them get there any faster, so for better or worse, you're stuck "enjoying" the stage they're at anyway!

No. Enjoy it. Have an exceptionally leisurely maternity leave with your firstborn, bc it is not an option with subsequent babies, should you have any. If I tried to spend an entire day relaxing, my bug kids would go berzerk. Staying busy = better behavior
