nomnom the expectant mothers program nurse told me to do some exercises to help with the sciatica, they sent me the mayo clinics pregnancy book which had some...but i haven't read them yet lol
Rants/Raves/Questions: Getting excited for next month, so we can schedule our anatomy scam, can't wait to find out what these two buggers are.
GTKY: It's October - any fall/Halloween traditions that you are looking forward to? Usually take my son to a pumpkin patch, we go to my mom's for a Halloween party and carve pumpkins

Week/Team/ Fruit: 8 wks 1 day/ team blue/ raspberries Appointments: Hopefully an MFM appt but so far I'm still waiting for insurance to approve it Symptoms: puking has ramped up 👎🏽, exhausted too Rants/Raves/Questions: I talked to my OB today and he basically said he won't see me. In a nice way of course. He said if it were twins he would totally do it but that with triplets it was too high risk and specialized so I'll have to find a full service MFM. I'm hoping we still like the one we saw at our DD's AS and fx he has hospital privileges at my hospital. And he's up for dealing with triplets. My OB is gonna see me once, basically to hold me over until I get in to the MFM, but not till 10/20. GTKY: I love decorating for the holidays. I'm not sure how much of that I'll do this year. I am excited to take DD to the pumpkin patch (if I feel up for it).
fightersince83, my OB is a long time family friend who is very blunt with me: he said any normal OB who kept a patient with triplets was an idiot. And in the same breath assured me that if something happened or I hated my MFM he would of course deliver my babies but that I would be stupid to stay with him. All this to say, you have a great doctor.
Week/Team/Fruit: 22 weeks 3 days- team purple - corn on the cob
Appointments this week: U/S and OB appt on Thursday.
Symptoms: so I've gotten over my poison ivy but am somehow now allergic to hydrocortisone cream! Forearms are covered is an itchy red rash. It's awesome. Carpel tunnel is slightly better.
Rants/Raves/Questions: if I'm 22weeks and both a babies are still transverse what are the chances at least baby a will get head down...or should I prepare for a c-section?
GTKY: It's October - any fall/Halloween traditions that you are looking forward to?
Normally like my pumpkin beer. May need to have one soon just to have one... Carving pumpkins and roasting the seeds. Pumpkin Bars!!!....hmm I think I'm still hungry apparently.
@jacks605, 22 weeks they have plenty of time to flip- at that point, mine were in different positions at the start and end of an u/s. And I see nothing wrong with a pumpkin beer, but be prepared to be bitterly disappointed if your taste buds have changed and/or you aren't interested in more than a few sips. I used to drink the neck part of a beer and hand the rest to MH.
LydiaDeetz, I think you want to know sexes. Gender neutral stuff is cute for one but I think it might get too monotone for two. Or something. That makes sense in my head. What test did you have that tells you the gender? I think I want to get that if my doctor offers it.
Had my first appt this morning with the Ob who I love and had with DD1. Turns out the hospital that's closer to us isn't set up at all to handle any sort of complications or pre-term labor before 35 weeks. Given this info, we're probably going to deliver at the hospital we were at with DD1 and that means I get to keep my original Ob! I'm happy about this. I just hope we dont go into labor during rush hour or it might take a solid 45 mins to get to the hospital. I'm still keeping my appt tomorrow just to explore both sides but it doesn't make sense to take that risk for a 15 minute drive difference. I would hate for something to happen and have to be transferred anyway.
callmeKD thanks! I'm confused by all the tests that are available and the nurse at my doctor's office wasn't much help. I can do the Materni T 21, which I think is similar to the Harmony. Or I can do the "one that's included with the nuchal scan". Step 1 is probably call my insurance and see if any are even covered since I'm 'only' 30 years old and no history of chromosomal abnormalities in my family.
ETA: can it tell the gender of both babies? Sorry if that's a dumb question

DVMmomma I had the Verify test done. It can only tell me if both are girls or at least one is a boy. The test looks for the Y chromosome in the bloodwork.
I called today and had to leave a message. The nurse never called back, so maybe I'm not meant to know... lol

Makes sense. And I don't know!! That's tough. I wanted to be team green this pregnancy too but DH convinced me otherwise. Two surprises sounds like fun!SaveSave

When I called to ask the cost of the harmony test (if my insurance wouldn't cover it) they told me that the max out of pocket would be $100.

I just did the one included with the nuchal scan, no clue what it's actual name is.
I didn't bother to try to find out the sex with the blood test because I wanted to know what both babies were! And luckily I did because we ended up with one of each, which the test can't tell you.

I'm so frustrated. My insurance has not processed the authorization for a MFM. They've had the request for a week now. Meanwhile my Dr wanted me seen this week. That's clearly not happening and I'm super frustrated. It's a no brainer guys, I'm F'ing having triplets I need a MFM ASAP

WTF insurance?! I'm so sorry they are dragging their feet. Any idea of when it might get processed?

Have you called your insurance to notify them of your pregnancy and tell them it's triplets? Mine needed official notification from me, and their coding wasn't super clear for multiples, so a phone call clarification of that really smoothed over a lot of processing.

I called yesterday to check on the status and the guy told me he'd have the nurse look at it then. I didn't tell him it was triplets at that point, but when he looked it up he did sound a little nervous like he knew it shouldn't have still been pending. I did not hear back though and I did call again with no response.
