No, I'm not ready. I have a ton to do at work and all I really want to do is snuggle EG all day. She must have been struggling this morning too because she slept until 7:30!
Today is the first day without our part-timer (who took another position on campus). So on top of my usual stack of stuff to do, I am taking on lots of new duties in her absence. If you need me, I'll be counting down the hours until 5:30.
Sitting in the hospital in another state right now. Sigh. My period went from not much to extreme and I was bleeding through super tampons in less than an hour so decided to get checked out. Waiting to see the doctor.
Just was told by the male nurse doesn't think it is anything and normal since first one. Also, since I live in the D.C. Area, let me know he hates the government on both sides, thinks they are all idiots and if you like either party he hates you.
Lovely chap if I do say so! Lol
I do hope he is right. They are running tests and going to look for fibroids which I have never had an issue with before. I want to make sure I can fly home tomorrow.
Charlie STTN three of the last four nights and I've been able to set him down drowsy as well. Also I've seen him on the monitor wake up briefly then put himself back down without making a peep, several times now (hadn't done that in ages). I don't want to jinx anything but... it seems like everything we've been doing is working.
We've had minimal outside the litter box cat poop since last Monday (the worst day ever), just once on Thursday and once today, a significant improvement from when it was at it's worst. FIL has agreed to take her if it keeps up, right now the situation is manageable and definitely improved, so we will see.
On the whole, feeling rather optimistic for a Monday.
AFM, I'm back to distracted working while I look at real estate and weigh pros and cons between the different towns we could move to. this is H's last week home before he starts his new job, our nanny is coming for a couple part days to get to know LO, I hope H uses the time wisely.
geners I'm so glad the sleeping changes are working for you. That's awesome. And glad your cat is destroying your stuff less frequently. Maybe more sleep will do everyone good, even the cat!!
evenkeeled, + eleventy that it's nothing! geners, I am so excited for you! I'll start taking notes...
There is just too much to cram into a weekend! They go too fast. Finally got the gate at the top of the stairs installed. Margs was up a little early so at least there was enough time to for me to prep the meatballs we are having tonight with zoodles. I'm really trying hard to make dinners that are safe for Marg. For the most part paleo is a good start for recipes. I am using vinegar in this recipe which I am a little nervous about. But zmog MIL made chocalte cupcakes that were safe for me. I am housing them. Hopefully it is reflected in my pumping output
And a question for you ladies- we are looking for a gate for the bottom of the stairs- it will go from wall to wrought iron banister. Any recs? I saw some neat looking fabric ones that retract but they are like $150, which is more than we want to spend on it.

We had a looong night last night. The baby went to bed early but she woke right as we were going to bed and couldn't breathe through her nose so was up until about 2:30 off and on. H held her in the rocker the whole time. DD1 woke me up around 3:30 with a bad dream and climbed into bed with me for 40 minutes or so before going back to bed. Figured out she was running a low fever. Then she woke me up a little before 5 to "help her go potty" which meant she wanted me to turn the light on. Really?! Then she woke me again around 5:45 to give me a hug.....
I also got my period in the middle of the night last night. I am dragging today and of course all the kids are just fine and on the go. How do they do that?!
DD1 didn't have a temp this morning so I sent her to speech and then school because it's picture day.
The baby also is learning a couple new things. She has started waving (so cute!) and a few minutes ago she did her first cruising between the couch and ottoman. It was really awkward lol. Now she's trying to figure out DS's snack cup but only succeeding at getting Cheerios absolutely everywhere.
byjove Is it a skinny post? They sell gate adapters on Amazon which might work with a gate you already have? They're a separate piece shaped like a Y.
Yes, it is quite skinny. We only have the gate at the top of the stairs right now We lived in an apartment without stairs when DD1 was little, so we are new to gates.

In my experience, the 1st PP period can be pretty nasty (first couple actually). So FX it is just normal.
Thank you , looking normal. Probably if I was home I would have waited but being so far from home and never seeing this before decided to get looked at. Good to know it could be like this a time or two! My normal periods were only a few days and I never had consistent periods.
Realized that this hospital doesn't have any pumps. Hopefully out of here in an hour or so as I haven't pumped since 5:45 this morning. I'm weaning but trying to stay on schedule as I cut the minutes since I am primed to clogged ducts.
Think I am going to skip the rest of the conference and just relax, lay in bed, and enjoy my alone time.
byjove, we still need to do the gate at the top of the stairs.... so far she just goes and looks down it and stops but we should really not trust her so much. We got one from a neighbor that had the setup for a banister. It has two parts that attach to it.... i think it's this
evenkeeled, hope it's nothing and that you feel better soon.
I'm having a lot of feels today. That job falling through on me last week really took its toll on me and I've found myself missing my old district something fierce today. I really want to take a mental health day, but I'm going to try and hold out until Ellie's birthday next month. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
LOL I wish. I answered a telemarketing call from an unknown number thinking it was a doctor's office.
I was going to say that I get those stupid calls all the time, but I was hoping that for once this was legit and it was the universe's way of apologizing to you!

What did you do for the top of the stairs, or is it a different set up? We have a wrought iron railing with a skinny post at the top of the stairs and we need to figure out how to gate it...

Oh, bummer I think I missed that the job fell through. Hugs momma. If you have the vacation time, definitely take a day.

DS1 started coughing on Saturday afternoon. Early Sunday morning (4am) we had to take him to the ER and he was admitted Hobs stayed at home with H last night. They showed up at the hospital at 1:00 am because Hobs would not take a bottle Not a good weekend for the boys
geners, I will take a pic tonight of what DH did at the top. He has carpenter skills so he basically installed some wood around the banister (skinny metal as well) and cobbled it together. That kind of cobbling won't work so well at the bottom, but at least installation at the bottom of the stairs isn't as critical.
spidermonkeymama, that is kind of what my husband fashioned at the top. I'll show him this, I'm not sure he'll like it for the bottom. He is picky.
cnf2013, so many hugs! Sorry to hear about the job not going through. I wish I could make it all better :/
salemkitty, oh gosh! That sounds so awful. I hope he is better pronto. I am blaming it on this change in weather. Clara's cough is getting worse and we are going to start breathing treatments tonight. We probably should have started them yesterday. I wish I could deliver you coffee and a hug.
