I need to vacuum so badly. I think my living room carpet is more crumb than carpet at this point. Pretty sad when it is the only carpet in the house and I cant keep up with it. Well, that and an area rug in DS's room which is equally bad.
Maybe if they didnt have a solid layer of clothes and toys all over them I could actually see the dirt and clean it. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
I think I am going to spiral out planning C's big boy room today. We are switching him to the guest room and keeping his current room as the nursery and I am soooo excited. We moved into this house when he was 7 days old and I never really accomplished any cohesive decorating. I am excited to finally give him a special room and to redo the nursery for the new addition

I'm convinced most of the fabric surfaces in my house are actually 90% dog hair at this point. Our couch is the same color as the dog, which most of the time is smart until you forget to clean it off and unsuspecting guests sit down in black pants and stand up in tan pants. Same thing with the living room rug and basement carpet.

I saw a blog post about a new restaurant, and they had the most amazing cloud pendant lamps. I googled them, thinking they'd be super cute for a nursery. For the low, low price of $3000 they could be mine. I think I'll stick to DIYing it for a tabletop lamp.
moutonrouge I'm sure you can diy that. Did you check Pinterest?
I found a couple options - mostly taking paper lanterns and hot gluing batting to the sides, then hanging the lanterns in groups (or gluing some together). I think so long as it's an LED light the fire hazard risk should be low. Apparently the ones in the photos simulate a thunderstorm with audio and changes in the lights, which is not a feature I need.

I want a dog SO badly but this is near the top of the list of reasons we are waiting. I can barely handle all the loose cheerios and goldfish crumbs, let alone the absolute tsunami of hair that follows a dog. I have 2 bunnies and their hair and poop is more than enough for me for now, haha.

I have seen a lot of DIY posts for these on pinterest! I agree, they look amazing and would be so cute in a nursery.
If you make one please post a pic I'd love to see!
I dont know how many crafty moms we have on here but when we get to the nursery decorating phase Id love to see a thread for sharing things we've made.
Also a thread to AW finished/in progress nurseries.
So I keep reading all the threads and forgetting to post so I feel like I am participating but I just realized I haven't actually posted in awhile.
My wife and I got into a huge fight yesterday. The whole, you be pregnant first then me now is nice in a lot of ways but hard in others. It is really not fair but I keep comparing how I was during the first pregnancy to how my wife is now. It really is not fair because we didn't have kids before and our life was pretty relaxed. I gave her a lot of attention and pretty much dealt with all her pregnancy crazy super well. Well that is not exactly happening now (but we have high energy kids and our life is harder now). I started having mood swings lately and she did not handle that well at all... hence the fight.
We made up and should be fine now but that was pretty awful (definitely one of our worst fights)
On a positive note we had a level 2 scan last week and baby boy looks great we need to go back for a few more picts because he was only 17 weeks and it was too early to see some stuff.
amacbaby - being pregnant, raising a 3 year old plus trying to maintain a good relationship with my H has been so hard to do. so I feel ya! glad you had a great scan!
LT for the good scan amacbaby. Sorry about the fight. That definitely adds a new layer of complicated to the situation. I do feel similarly about how my H was during my first pregnancy vs this one but am trying to remember the same thing you are. Life is so crazy now that I really have to adjust my expectations accordingly. I think it is a positive step to realize our own faults in order to understand our partners better. So its great that youre already doing that!
Hopefully no more fights, at least for a little bit (because lets be real here lol) for you two
No preschool today so DS and I took a trip to Target to fill our "boo" baskets because we were "booed" this weekend. Does anyone else's neighborhood take part in this tradition? It's cute!

amacbaby I also feel like I'm participating and then realizing all I've been doing for days is reading and LTing. I'm glad you've made up from your fight; I wonder if, in addition to the life changes that have happened between your wife's pregnancy and yours, there's also some difference because your wife has BTDT in a way. I feel like experience/perspective can be a double-edged sword - it makes you more sympathetic but also less.

I haven't heard of this. What is it?
Basically someone starts it by leaving a basket or bag of Halloween goodies on the porch of two neighbors. Then they are each supposed to do the same for two more and it goes from there. It's supposed to be anonymous and there's a little sign you print out and put in the basket to explain it. Here's a link to the website: www.beenbooed.com
It's a fun little neighborhood game and I think the kiddos will really like when they get older.
@justinslovo the tomato top spider thing happened to me too. It's nature's cruel joke. Just tomato tops behind the spoiler, but you're still gonna jump.
I started telling coworkers today! I got a lot of hugs and congrats. It was nice. I'm still scared to tell students but I'm sure now that staff knows that it will get out soon enough. I'm planning on telling kids around Halloween, so only a couple weeks until I can embrace le bump.
In other news, a little one whose arms are at the height of my ute gave me a bear hug today and it hurt so so bad I felt all crampy for like 10 minutes.
