I'm here. DD has us up at 6:30am.
We're picking up my SIL from airport and then driving around to look at some fall leaves with my southerner MIL & SIL 🙄. I've already instructed all parties involved that we have to be back in time to give DD a nap. Who wants to take bets on that actually happening?!
{Click here to see more.}I read some horrible fucking comments on facebook thanks to Trump and I wrote up a really long response and didn't end up posting it because it was on some friend-of-a-friend's post and I thought it might be weird and aggressive to pop up there. But someone's comment of "abortion is ALWAYS murder" really hit me in the feels and I'm super ragey and want to shut that shit down so hard.
Here's a bunny carrying a toy bunny for those of you who 1) Don't want to read the spoiler but came for cute stuff 2) Read the spoiler and need something to make you less angry.

mosdub the whole conversation that has come from the debate about abortion has been sickening. People have been awful. The only thing I'm happy about is that many people are getting educated on many different scenarios.
I've had to hide more people on my Facebook since Wednesday's debate than I have the majority of this entire election season so far.

Now ds doesn't want to go to the bouncy place or fire truck rides. Firefighter kid problems: fire trucks lose their attraction since you see them all the time.

@justinslovo set him up for success! "DO YOU LIKE MY NEW OUTFIT??" I know, it feels like you shouldn't have to, but sometimes you do. (Sometimes can be often.)
Morning! Our friends throw a big, themed Halloween party every year and it's tonight. This year's theme is Game of Thrones. I'm either going to be the sorceress or just wear a Mother of Dragons shirt. We'll see how blumpy I'm feeling later. I'm looking forward to it but honestly will miss the booze!
Today is pretty uneventful. We are going grocery shopping soon and then I will be catching up on laundry and relaxing. Tomorrow we are off to the cottage for a small memorial dinner for my aunt. Hopefully my dad doesnt make me want to stab myself in the ear with a fork.
We're getting our snowblower delivered today, which means we will get no snow this winter! DH is now talking about buying a leaf blower despite the fact that we pay for leaf removal twice per fall. I am unclear as to where these items will be living, because they sure as heck aren't fitting in the garage!
One of the twins spiked 102.1 fever last night after coming home from the park. Got to text our friends and let them know because we probably passed on whatever it is >< No way we could have known. She's only getting up to 99.8 before Tylenol today, so hopefully we're already on the mend.
The little boy has flipped and made me feel better by taking a ton of jabs at my belly button today. After finding out about the blood vessels, the fact that his toes were aiming for the cervix was making me horribly paranoid >< DVT in utero? Probably not possible, but hey.. my brain likes to come up with the worst.
Today.. umm.. wing it? We got up early and saw the meteor shower that is happening around Orion. Beautiful! Almost 10 am and I am starved again.
Good luck obi! We're having a lazy day today while DH works on our bathroom reno. DD has a cold so that's a bummer but it doesn't seem terrible so far. Mostly just runny nose. Only real downside is that we can't go visit our best friends and their newborn this weekend! She's only 5 lbs so I'm definitely not bringing an even remotely sick kid around them. Guess we'll have to wait and meet her next weekend. But tonight we have friends coming for dinner and tomorrow we're going to the local MLS (soccer) game. It should be exciting because it determines whether or not we make the playoffs. Yay for the weekend!!
missi sorry for the horrible fever! I hope she recuperates quickly and that the other kids you were around don't come down with it. Glad baby boy is giving your some reassurance. I was getting nervous I didn't feel flutters yet today and just now my little dude jabbed me.
obi I hope today goes as smoothly and peacefully as it can.
I managed to put a mountain of clothes away and then spiraled researching about things that can be missed on 16 week ultrasounds.
It was at first terrifying but eventually I found some resources that were helpful and reassuring. "Worry is time wasted on problems that haven't happened yet." -- something I need to tell myself right now!
Anyway, off to get ready for a pumpkin carving party with friends! So excited!

So our little dinner after the a/s was a bust. I guess DH didn't realize how excited I was about it and let his grumpiness from his man cold come out and ruin it. We argued and it sucked, plus pregnancy hormones made it 10x worse.
OMG. So the national car repair location by my house (that I had to get new tires put on last weekend) quoted me $1130 for new brakes.
Took them to the mechanic who works out of his garage in my old neighborhood (hour away). I just found out that it's $100 for the parts my dad picked up for him/me. And his labor fee? $50. I'm giving him more because, OMG he just saved me $1000.
Now I really really need to get searching for a similar independent mechanic out this way.
Car repairs are the worst! I am so thankful my H is a mechanic/technician. He isn't an auto mechanic, but what he works on is more complex so he can find his way around our car just fine. Its way cheaper for him to do our brakes, oil changes, etc himself. I hope you can find an independent person to do your future repairs or a reasonable small shop. They're worth their weight in gold.
Forgot to ask in my previous post ., was the $1130 a quote for all 4 brake pads and rotors or...? Im blown away by that price.
Front brake pads, rotators and calipers. The independent mechanic said I don't need new calipers at this point in time.
Yeah calipers rarely need replacing but they get expensive. Sounds like the national place was trying to take advantage of you, big time. Brakes aren't actually a hard job to do. I watched my H do ours last time and totally felt like I could do it if I tried but... I still never will haha. Ill stimulate the local economy and pay someone else if I have to.

I am laying on the couch doing nothing at the moment and it is much needed. I about fell asleep on the drive home from shopping. I'm letting DH entertain ds and tend to the dogs needs. The dog thing is a big deal since the dog thinks I am the only human on earth that is capable of letting him outside.
. that's ridiculous! daisylola11 sorry H was being a whiny pants last night have fun with your sister!
We had a bridal shower (C is the flower girl) and a birthday party today. I got up early with the kids, so when we got home from the parties, H took the kids out. I'm lounging on the couch watching college football and Hallmark channel.

We're supposed to go to dinner at our friends' house in 10 minutes. DH is currently napping on me so we'll see if we leave on time. He did some day drinking today then got Taco Bell so I guess this was inevitable.

Taco Bell + drinking = awesome in the moment. H went to a small college in the middle of nowhere, but it had THE BEST Taco Bell -- we would go there after drinking. Ah, memories
daisylola11 I'm sorry your H was a grump at dinner.
AFM- I've had a pretty busy day. I slept til 10, went on a walk with our dog and my H, picked my friend up from the train station, went to lunch, went shopping for home stuff, met a bunch of our girlfriends for apple picking, went to see a friend's new house (she's 38 weeks and I totally took pics of her ADORABLE nursery) and then had snacks. Now back at my house. My friend texted me and said her and her boyfriend are coming over for the Cubs game. It's fine, I guess, but they always stay super late.
I also had the strangest convo with her about being pregnant. I kind of expected it to be weird, so hadn't told her yet. This is how it went:
"I'm pregnant. Due in March."
Her: "Great! I hope you are taking vitamins."
Me: "I am."
Her: "Did you do IVF?"
Me: "Yes."
Her (she is 37, and her boyfriend is 50, and has 6 kids from a previous marriage): "Luckily for me, BF gets people pregnant just by looking at them."
Me: mumbling something about how that's not exactly how it works, but just changing the subject.
I mean- that's a super weird reaction, right?! I think some of it might be bc I am younger and she is nervous about her age and she's not engaged, and wants kids, but weird still. (By young, I also mean I am 33.)
