@glb3p yes, weird reaction. The whole bf look thing was just Wtf and insensitive given you just disclosed you had to go through IVF. My hubby was looking at me for over a year, didn't do the trick. Such a stupid thing to say to someone.
We've been having so many potential new tenants come look at our apartment - it's getting so annoying. And my husband doesn't understand what keeping the place clean 24/7 means. I am constantly cleaning while he is leaving his crap all over. Pregnancy is making me extra ragey.
H is making me second guess almost everything I've put into the registry.
I don't think my h has even looked at our registry. I've been pretty obsessive with researching everything so he's just let me run with it
I was excited to show him what I had on it so I started going through and he would be like "do people put that on a registry?" "is that something we will need if you breastfeed?"
and I'm all "I don't know...I think so?" *feverishly researches*
DH is totally the 8-9 guy. But, he's just such a live in the moment person. That and, I don't really need him at Dr appoimtments. The a/s was the only one he's come to both times.
I really want to pick a name asap but H is pretty relaxed about it.
I'm going into nesting mode overdrive and need to chill out. One thing at a time.
Did anyone ever think about hiring a maid service to clean like a month before the due date? I've never hired a maid service but I like the idea of having the house deep cleaned right before baby comes but I know I won't want to do it once I'm that far along.

DO IT!
We have someone come once a month regardless of pregnancy and it is the best. The rest of the month I do what I call "maintenance cleaning." It will be well worth it before baby comes and beyond!
Went to another birthday party today, but we didn't know kids under 3 can't participate (trampoline park, zip lining, rock climbing). So poor R was upset when they wouldn't let him in. H took him to the zoo and now we are waiting for him to pick us up. At least C had a blast!

DH wanted to pick names right away this time. Not sure why.

I know we live in different areas, but ball park figure for a 3bed/1.5 bath house? One floor, pretty small...1,200 square feet ish.

Would you only do one deep clean? Or go with some sort of monthly deal or even more frequent than that? Prices vary pretty greatly depending on areas and how often you'll get it cleaned. I got a steal with the woman who cleans my house. We have a 4bed/2.5 bath, about 1,800 square feet and she does it for $105 a month. She's priced the most competitive in my area.
If there are others here who get their houses cleaned, you're going to find that the prices will be all over the place!

We have a cleaning lady come every other week and she is my most favorite person ever and my favorite way to spend money. It takes her 4 hours to clean our 3 bed/1 bath/1200sq ft house. It's probably one of the best things I've done for my sanity and marriage.

+1
I gave up highlighting my hair for a cleaning lady.
Test driving a Honda Odyssey this afternoon. I also found this bottle cleaner www.babybrezza.com/product/bottle-washer/ and am debating if the $200 price tag is worth it. I have a Brezza formula maker which was nice when I was doing some formula and some breastmilk around months 7-12, but the cleaner only holds 4 bottles at a time or does my pump parts.
Let me know how the test drive goes!!! We're planning to shop around and buy an Odyssey within the next 2 months!
I liked the Odyssey...the turning radius was great and I didn't feel like I was driving a boat. The rear entertainment system and being able to control the climate in each row is awesome. If I was going from an Accord (which DH drives) or a Toyota, I would buy it in a heartbeat. BUT I have a 2014 Acura RDX that I love and the Odyssey just doesn't compare "feel" wise...the seats aren't as comfy and it doesn't feel as nice.
They are releasing a complete redesign in January-ish and if the Pilot redesign is any indication, they will sell for MSRP or a little over for months and months and be hard to come by. I am SO conflicted because I feel like if I don't get a 2016, I may have to wait forever to get the Touring 2017 since they don't manufacture as many to begin with and then we won't be able to use the Costco Car Buying discount, making it like $7k more than if we just bought a 2016 now.
The previous owner of the house had a bunch of gardening stuff in the back shed and a few weeks ago I was finally cleaning it out and put a bag of some fertilizer stuff in the wagon to go to the trash. I forgot about it, and with all the rain and such the bag deteriorated and made a large pile of REALLY smelly stuff in the wagon. Today I dumped the fertilizer in the back corner of the property, and mixed it up with some dirt hoping it would disintegrate and whatever.
Let my dog out and he ate a TON of it. I could smell him when he came in. Cue panic. I made him throw up, gave him a bath and now we are going to monitor. I was able to read on the bag "orgonite" which seems to be a non-toxic fertilizer so I'm just going with that. Now he's whining to go back outside because I'm sure he would love to eat more of that gross stuff.
Hope it was non-toxic, I don't have the info/brand just the word organite to go off of. Having him throw it all up and monitor overnight is probably the best I could to anyway right?

So wait, bookish explain this to someone who feels like that is a foreign language. So since they're releasing a redesign, the newest model will be extra expensive for a while?
What might it mean for the older models? We'll probably try to buy used but not too old.
Also, tell me about this Costco car buying discount!

The Costco Car program has you input the car you are looking for and assigns you a dealer. You go to the dealer and there is no haggling. You see the dealer invoice and see how much you pay with the Costco discount. We compared the price to TruCar and it seems like we pay less than average and don't have a haggle. I'm not sure we are really getting any better deal than if we haggled, but DH is a lawyer and I realllllllly don't like listening to him negotiate, so this is a total win for me.
If a car is a super popular new redesign, the model is excluded from the discount for awhile. When the redesigned Pilot came out, there was a shortage of them for months and people had to pay MSRP or a little above to even get one. Something similar happened the last Odyssey redesign, too.
Word on the street is that they have stopped production of 2016s and dealers are getting their last batches in now, so there will be fewer and fewer 2016 choices as supply dwindles.
mosdub YIKES! Call animal poison control for peace of mind to make sure it won't cause liver failure. And yes, I have had to call twice for my dog, so I totally sympathize. www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control
bookish thank you for that! The app confirmed my research - fertilizer is likely non toxic or only mildly toxic (which can be handled at home). I think the fact that we made him throw it all up puts my mind at ease too, but I'll feel a lot better when we get through tonight/tomorrow without any symptoms of poisoning.

This thread inspired me to run the registry by my husband. He has many younger siblings (the youngest was born when MH was 18) so he's had infant experience. I felt pretty gratified when he agreed with the things I had picked. The ones he didn't understand I think I was able to explain well. And he suggested some good deletions that I agreed with. Though one thing (a particular tub) I may try to borrow from friends who had one.

We were looking for an Odyssey or something similar back when we were expecting the twins. Unfortunately, every time we found one available, it was gone before dh could get off work or the weekend came. We ended up with an amazing deal on an Acura MDX (amazing.. really >< we're poor!) and we absolutely love it.
The only thing I wish we had were the sliding doors of the van. We are going to move the twins to the third row and have the teens sit on either side of the baby when he is born. We just can't do a major shopping trip with everyone in the car.. and I don't want to deal with them all along with me anyways!

I totally forgot I needed a baby tub....
If you have counter space or a kitchen table you can skip the tub. DS was born in December and to keep him from getting so cold and losing more weight than he already had, the ob nurse recommended bathing him on a towel on the counter or somewhere. It was so easy and we didn't have to mess with draining a tub. We did this until he could sit in the tub and would want to play in the water, so like 8 or 9 months old.
