If you have counter space or a kitchen table you can skip the tub. DS was born in December and to keep him from getting so cold and losing more weight than he already had, the ob nurse recommended bathing him on a towel on the counter or somewhere. It was so easy and we didn't have to mess with draining a tub. We did this until he could sit in the tub and would want to play in the water, so like 8 or 9 months old.
I'll need a tub or something. We live in a pretty small apartment, I may get one of those slings that folds flat. At least till I can give both kids a bath in the regular tub.

@priss08 we used the sling seat until we switched to just the tub. She had a couple of days of rough transition to sitting in water - the seats are not supposed to be submerged at all - but other than that it worked great. We put a rag over her belly and kept it wet to keep her warm. She's always loved baths so I think it worked.

Man, this is just taking me back to all the baby stuff we donated.
I'm having a lot of "extremely effective" birth control feels this morning. Lol
