We were up from 430 to 530 this morning. Which was super annoying. But I managed to get him back to sleep eventually (in our bed) and then dh got up and proceeded to open and close the front door 3 times. He went to warm up the car (yes it is that cold here) but he sort of lets it slam. So when he left at 6:45 Magoo just woke up. Oh well. Lots of caffeine for me today. He did well in daycare today too at least.
Anyways enjoy your election. Canadians are watching and sighing with relief that we don't live there today.

I'm ready for this all to be over. At least most of you know I'm not on your side of things, but I really think Hillary is going to win tonight. I'm bracing myself for my H getting major depressed, lol.
My dad finally said he would babysit tonight, so my H and I will be hanging out with his entire office for the results tonight. I'm going to be in a room filled with a lot of drunk people either really happy or really angry/sad. Yay.
In other news, R is really interested in feeding himself now. I've been giving him his own spoon while we eat now. This morning he dipped it in his breakfast on his own and tried to eat it. It hit his cheek instead, and then he gave up and decided to chew on the handle for a while. By the time breakfast was over, he had yogurt *everywhere.* this is going to be a messy process, hahaha

My I voted sticker kept getting stuck in my hair, so I ditched it real quick. SS is wearing one on our behalf. He was so cute at the polls asking about the ballot and talking about his 8 year old political opinions. We can't take all the credit for it, but it makes my heart swell to see what a smart, good-hearted little boy DH and I are raising.
DH and I changed up our MOTN baby waking schedule due to his band practice tonight, so I had to do wake ups Sunday and last night. She STTN last night and I'm not mentioning it to DH unless specifically asked. Thank you, L, for giving mommy that rare joy. Please also have mercy on your father who is coming down with the dreaded man cold.

Best wishes for your sanity tonight tkford216. My best friend is in politics, so I know very well how election results can strongly affect someone's mood for days, if not weeks, after it's over.
Morning! I'm going to be rocking the vote, with my children, later this morning. I'm hoping I can go at a time that isn't busy. We will probably stay and hang out since I vote at a library.
1. Instead of giving me the hard cover thing you slip your ballot in and then let it secretly slide into the machine, they literally gave me a file folder. So when I put my ballot into the machine, I basically had to let it come way out the top of the folder to get it in the spot so anyone around me totally could have seen who I voted for. They must have had too many of the hard cases out and I was the lucky (not so) one who came right at the perfect moment, but nobody else had a damn folder.

tkford216 , and other babies who are into feeding themselves (this is the only way X will eat purees. He's refused spoons for months so I gave up on purees. He likes the pouches, but hello wasted food and large mess):
These things are amazing. They cover the part that is really jagged from where the top seals, and it's much more difficult to spill. ChooMee Toppers

2. I didn't get a sticker.
Happy voting day! Now, mocha...
I have no idea what you're talking about. I didn't know that different states had different voting methods until I moved to this state. My old state had walk-in booths with buttons, with a whole curtain you pull behind you. This one had more like a tiny cover for the touch screen.

Oh hmm...we have paper scantron forms that you fill out, basically at a standing desk with little walls for privacy (think skinny standing cubicles) and then you put your ballot into a hard case (slips into the top) and carry it to the machine. Your ballot slides in and the machine reads it. The hard case fits perfectly at the machine (think printer slot) so your ballot can slide out and right into the machine. But with a file folder, it didn't fit so basically had to take my ballot out and slide it into the machine. Hence, ballot wide open view.

We are cheap in our states so no fancy electronic voting for us rivers and roads

We use paper ballots, too. And no sort of cover so anyone trying to snoop can see who I voted for. Not that I'm concerned. The only people I don't want to discuss it with are my non-immediate family.
chocolate, we are still old school here. You take your ballet into one of many little partitioned booths, you fill in your circles with a pen, and you put your ballet into a machine. No curtains, no folders, nothing.
rivers and roads that's a neat idea, but I'm not into the pouches. We'll stick with our messy spooned purees. He still does pretty good there.

I feel like I've been hit by a bus. Major headache, achy, bad cough.
Both kids were up shortly after 6. My toddler woke up a bunch of times last night too. So H and I were up past 12 getting her back down. H let me take a 2 hour nap this morning, and now he's napping. SIL ended up coming over for a bit today, and took DD out for a few hours.
I want to stay up to watch the election results but usually it's not called until after midnight here. Good luck to all you folks in the US!
tkford216 getting involved in that site wide election thread was probably not the best idea.
Hahahaha. I'm just inserting standard Trump talk. It's fun to watch everyone go a little crazy today. No one actually wants to hear about the real reasons anyone would vote Trump, nor would they listen anyway. It's amazing how many people jump on a simple response though, even when I haven't said anything about me personally.
Idk why people are so worried. Hillary is going to win.

There's no guarantee Hills will win. Everyone's a little on edge today. I think people have listened to the reasons someone would vote for Trump, but most of those reasons can be refuted.
I think we've all had enough politics for the day. Or ever.
R has reached the sharing toys phase. He holds it out and actually lets go of it into your hand, giggles like he's proud of himself, and then 10 seconds later realizes it's now gone and gets angry until you give it back. Repeat. It's quite funny.
