Ugh, today has been a rough day. Twice DD refused to nurse. I tried different positions and even put back in the nipple shield (we finally got back to nursingv without it 2 days ago). Nothing worked!! I ended up pumping and giving her a bottle. She initially refused it and then took it. So I spent thanksgiving at my in-laws with my screaming hungry child and me pumping crying. I was so upset that she wouldn't nurse. Just fed her again and she latched fine and ate... so who knows what was going on.

Happy Thanksgiving! My kid has been adorable and also a beast today. I was really down all day and didn't even want to cook but then I decided eff it, I need to get into the spirit for dinner because this is DD's first Thanksgiving. So dinner was okay. Now I want to throw shit at H because DD isn't napping and he's zoned out on his video games while she's crying on the monitor. It was nice while it lasted?
IL's told us dinner was at 1 today. ONE! So we got there and ate and hung out foreverrrr. At 6ish when we were getting ready to head out, MIL was like "it's only 6 why is everyone leaving?" I felt bad but we were all exhausted. It'd be a bit different if we didn't see them all the time, they live less than 10 minutes away.

5 hours is a respectable amount of time with two young kids at someone else's house. I spent 3.5 hr at my aunts and thought that was a good amount.

Right?! We didn't actually leave until 7 because she kept trying to get us to stay.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We spent the day at my parents house. Last night, tomorrow, and Saturday will be spent at the in-laws. Tomorrow morning though, my mom and sister and I are going shopping. We normally head out around 10 - fewer crowds but still good deals. I bought a few things online already as well. I love shopping for deals!
There's a ton of great deals on diapers on Amazon right now
So last night I laid the babe down in the pack and play and went downstairs to pump. DH was already asleep in the room. I came up and got into bed. At 4am he woke up to eat and his blanket was in the PNP next to him. Its a thin swaddling one but was folded up in a square. So yeah, I spent the next way too long trying to figure out when I put it in, thinking I did it in my sleep, causing me to worry big time.
I hope everyone's babies survived family time yesterday!
I was worried, because my kids don't see my side of the family very often. But DD1 was so good, just cheerful and friendly and she entertained everyone. DD2 was happy too, and she even managed to take a nap at my aunt's house. As a bonus, bedtime was a breeze for both, even though we were out of routine. (I get stressed about big events like this, and I'm usually glad when they're over.)
Now today I will officially haul my stash of Christmas mugs up from the basement. I seriously love sipping coffee from a festive mug!
Yes steph! I ordered a box is size 3 pampers cruisers for $19! We'll need them eventually and ds1 was in 3s forever. I also got a box of pull ups for ds1 for $15! I always take advantage of these kinds of amazon deals.
Hey friends! Hope you all had a great thanksgiving!
We made it ok - the baby was great on the plane but his schedule got all messed up and he was one fussy guy yesterday. But he actually slept well last night, so that's a great start.
The Merlin sleep suit is so funny but it seems to be working. Though it's too big, and E keeps managing to get both legs stuck in one pant leg!!
remylove1011 Nursing strikes are so upsetting. I always cry when G refuses. Were you using a cover since you had family around? I ended up taking the babies upstairs to the guest room to nurse so it was quiet and we didn't need a cover.

She is so cute though! :-)
Yes, initially I was using a cover. She still refused when I went in the guestroom. She was in a mood! (Although I do think she mostly hates the cover) It was so hard to have it happen while we were out. MH thinks that the house was just too hot and she was even warmer next to me nursing. It's a small house and the oven was on all day. She did nurse last night so I'm thinking he was right.

If it makes anyone feel better, I bumped DD3's head (in the carrier) into DD2's while picking up DD2 so I could go feed DD3 in privacy at the Christmas tree farm. Mother of the year right here. DD2 did not notice. DD3 screamed. Oy.
And as soon as he paid for our tree DH decided it was too prickly. So that is a downer. Currently listening to gorgeous music to try and lighten the mood.
We're officially making the switch to cloth diapers today! I ordered a bunch of BumGenius pocket diapers from BBB earlier this week - everything was 25% off so I figured I might as well build up my stash. We have 18 now, so I think that should be enough.
My BFFs dad works at a Chevy dealership (he's the fleet manager) and I've been looking at one for a few months now. He told me to keep waiting for a better deal. Well today was the day! When we looked in early Oct, the payment was right at our budget. Today it was $30 less!
