Adeline coo'd and smiled the biggest whole face smile at me today when I was singing and dancing with her !!!! I didn't think it was possible this early but Google tells me 4-6 weeks usually. They are 4wks in the morning.
Omg all the sleepless nights and achy backs are worth it !
I'm sitting in the paediatricians office (E has a horrible diaper rash that isn't getting better) with 3 other families. All of them are speaking different languages to their children, in addition to English. I love the diversity of my city!

Back from the pedi. M's rash isn't heat rash, but they're not exactly sure what it is. Got a referral to dermatology and will hopefully get in with them within two weeks. It was a bit triggering because I had to choose between two places and one was where we lost our son. Combined with a second doctor coming in and throwing out suggestions like possible autoimmune issues I got pretty upset. I thought at worst we would be getting told to put some hydrocortisone ointment on her. Please if you have a moment think a few good thoughts that this goes away and is NBD.
kleigh, I wish I could LT your post more than once!! waitwhat, 5 lbs--that's incredible! sophiegrace, big hugs and lots of T&P's. I hope you have an answer soon. Please keep us posted!

So, I was going through the Friday thread and was like, I don't know any of these people. Did we acquire a bunch of people in the last year or so? User name changes?
Then I realized I somehow ended up in a Nov 13 thread. And promptly deleted my post. 😂

I might be a little rusty. #howdoIforum
Lol and I saw your post and had to double check what forum I was on. Hi crispy!
D had her 2 week appointment this morning. She's now 9 lbs 6 oz, so apparently continuing her weight gain pace of ~2 oz per day (she was 9 lbs on Monday).
I also took in the mail on my way into the house when we got back. Apparently neither DH nor I have been getting it in like a week. We had all these cards and checks from friends and relatives--oops! Guess I will be picking up some more thank you cards on my next outing.

Omfg. And now I'm in a Nov 16 thread. But I recognize SEVERAL names here. I give up. Cut me off. No more posting for me today. 😂
LOLZ. You're killing me, stay and play..I like your post whore style
Hahahaha. I'll hang around if you'd like. I'm good for a laugh. Some background, I had a little guy in Feb 15. I was gone from the forums for a while, losing my damn mind. Now I'm back, still clearly losing my damn mind.
vinolove they gave me a script for some sort of combined cream which I already filled. If this doesn't work, I might as well try that cream you described! Thanks!
Am I overreacting? I took D with me to my OB appointment earlier while DH took DS to a playgroup and then out to lunch with FIL. He didn't bring me back anything for lunch and I'm kinda pissed.

I'm a foodaholic so to me, no.. Not overreacting. I'd be pissed lol. Even if I already ate lol.

Boy child wants to only be held today. He also cries out, albeit briefly, when I speak or when DD gets noisy. Dude you need to get used to it Mr you are a younger sibling it's not going to get quieter.
Once DD wakes up from her nap I think I am going to make sugar cookies with her (hopefully not having to wear ds during this project), and then we can decorate them when our friends come over for dinner.

Also having diaper rash problems over here. On tues appt the ped said to use hydrocortisone 1% which I have been doing but it looks so much worse now! At one point it was bleeding! I have a call into the nurses line to ask if there is anything else I can do. I was also putting a layer of aquafora over the hydrocortisone.

I would be mad. When we got released from the hospital, the midwife said my job was to take care of the baby and H's job was to take care of me. I was mad anytime I was hungry and H didn't think to go get me food.

We use an ointment (or Crisco) in the daytime and corn starch at night. The corn starch will help dry out the moisture.

Also, try to just let his bottom sit in water, no soap and pat dry. I know that's hard with a newborn.

Y'all, I suck. Please save the good thoughts for more important matters. I'm not sure why I got so upset before. It's a rash. Looks terrible, but she has no fever and is pooping and eating as usual. I'm sorry for freaking out.
danib H has super bad eczema on his legs and I'm allergic to...most things. C sounds a lot like how I was as a baby/kid. If this turns out to be eczema I might have to give you a shout out again just to have you remind me what did and didn't work. Funny you mention diaper rash..triple paste was keeping her bottom looking perfect until two days ago and now it looks terrible. I'm going to write that medicine down.

Oh hellll no. This might be his worst infraction yet. Food is life.
sophiegrace If it's eczema, Lillian had that. She still will have issues in winter when it's super dry. When it first popped up, it was literally little red dots all over her body. I took her to the pediatrician and we got a super expensive lotion for it. We also used Aveeno eczema and also their soothing relief lotion. We did lotion at every diaper change on the rashy spots and added a layer of Vaseline at night. That kept it under control for the most part. ETA: when Lillian's rash popped up, I totally freaked out hence going to the pediatrician. I didn't even make an appointment. I went to the "I'm totally freaked out and need to know what's happening" walk-in morning hour as soon as they opened.
cookswithwine9 I am surprised they did just hydrocortisone on diaper rash as it notoriously has a yeast infection as a part of it which should get worse with just HC. Call the nurses line and they them know it's worse and bleeding. Also A&D and mixed with liquid malox is our go to for that type of rash (unfortunately DD gets it frequently) it seems to knock it out the quickest.
