yes, gifts were always wrapped in my house. And try telling my MIL that gifts aren't wrapped, it would be met with a blank stare and 'defuq you talkin' about'
I think people seriously overthink this santa thing and try to apply adult logic to it. He magical, everything he does is down to christmas magic, end of story.

Gifts from everyone else are wrapped, gifts from Santa are left unwrapped! I mean has anyone ever seen a cartoon or movie Santa leaving wrapped gifts? No. He puts like a bike or a ball or doll or whatever out in plain view.
What you gonna do when you run out of the special paper? What you gonna do when the kid is old enough to recognize handwriting?
Always make sure you have enough Santa paper! It just has to have Santa on it. And I will either use my left hand or switch it up and make MH do the Santa and I do the rest. I haven't figured out the Santa writing yet but that is how I figured it out. Maybe Santa won't write on presents

um yes, every book we have with santa is him leaving wrapped boxes under the tree. Bikes or something that size do not get wrapped unless they come in a box.

The gifts from us have a label on them. Santa's gifts do not. No handwriting to notice. Also, the stocking and gifts are in a general vicinity of each other so it's noticeable what is Santa's, besides the different wrapping paper. I hide the paper so no one sees it throughout the year too.
The only things I don't wrap are the stuffers within the stocking. I might wrap the top items you can see but the others I don't.

This but I do wrap stocking stuff only because my mom did

Decorative garbage/wrapping bags FTW. Although this year I might just leave the bigger items unwrapped.
Santa gifts are unwrapped and set up under the tree so that when the kids are old enough to gwt up without you they can play with them and let you sleep some more.
Mom and Dad gifts are wrapped. As are any gifts coming from anyone who is not Santa
Santa doesn't run out of paper. And when i was a kid we all had a gift spot in the living room, so gifts from santa had no writing on them, they were just left in our corner with the other gifts.

Yes, i'm excited that those garbage bag things exist now. They didn't when i was a kid so bikes and things were left unwrapped with a bow on.
I think parents are going a little overboard with the whole, Santa can't give big gifts or lots of gifts because other kids will wonder why Santa didn't do the same for them. Or the parents want "credit." Granted, maybe this is just me in my privileged little bubble, but as kids I never encountered this or thought anything of it. Most gifts were from Santa.
