The last couple days I've been tearing my house apart looking for my kid's little Goofy toy. Finally today I was struck with a brilliant idea. Unpacked the Christmas decorations, and there he is. Of course!
We lost DD2's monkey on our trip. DH actually drove to World Market to get another one on NYE and they stayed open 5 extra minutes for him because they are awesome and DD2 can't sleep without it.
We found the original in a shape sorter the next day.
We un-decorated from Christmas today and brought out the jumperoo. Ds2 loves it! He is so much taller than ds1 at this age. Ds1 needed 4 big books under his feet in order to touch, but ds2 doesn't need anything.
Do you have the exer-saucer type? DD was jumping on my lap today and I was thinking we need a jumping toy of some sort.

Yes, we do - the fisherprice jumparoo. Ds1 loved it!

Yeah, stomach bugs are going around like crazy in my area!
Our area too, plus bad respiratory colds and the flu. Area urgent cares and ER are overwhelmed with people. Make all visitors wash their hands. Not sure why it's so bad this year.

Ugh, poor DD just got over her first cold and now has a cough. For right now I'm just watching it, but I'm nervous it'll get worse.

LO definitely has a cold. He seems to be holding up okay.
This morning when he woke up he was on his belly and had peed through his diaper. I think it's time to size up to 3s. I was really hoping to get through this last box of 2s but it doesn't look like it's going to happen

We just made this switch too. I used the 2s during the day and 3s at night to use them up.
Thinking healthy thoughts for all the nasty stuff going around. We have a man cold in the house and he's working from home today. I'm going to be pissed if I catch it because H goes out of town for work next week.
The 9 month clothes are a little big on him but he looks like a fat man in a little coat in his 6 month stuff Hahahaha. He's huge it's ridiculous.
Haha, love the image of fat man in little coat. We're in some 9 month stuff as well, but for length. She's over 27 inches so half the 6 month stuff is just too short (Mostly sleepers with feet. )

Well, H caught my stomach bug. And FIL has bruised ribs and can't get out of bed. So vacation is so far not going too well. The good news is I feel MUCH better today, so at least it's short-lived.
A question: the milk I pumped last night looks very thin and watery. Do you think it's ok to use? Since I was sick I wonder if it affected my milk. There's not much of it since I was so dehydrated. But I want them to get my antibodies so I'd rather not throw it away...
My peanut baby is still in 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers...
My peanut is still in 3 month clothes too! We moved up to size 2 diapers a week ago because there started to be a lot of poopsplosions. 3 month sleepers are a little short, so I may size up for those - but everything else still fits!! Tiny baby.
Hmm. All of you have your kids in exersaucers so maybe I should not be weird about it? I was reading what age to do it and I read discouraging things until she could sit up on her own. Am I being too overprotective? Should I just go for it?

I've also been waiting until they can sit, although they do pretty well with a bit of support so we will probably try the jumper when we get back from our trip.
Maybe try it, but watch carefully the first time and if she seems to be slumping too much, try again in a week or two.
In the end it worked out ok. The nice thing about them is that we were able to gate check the carseats and strollers without travel bags. We were also able to bring a bottle for each of them in addition to our regular carry-ons.
The issues we had: MIL payed an extra $25/ticket to book over the phone so she could make sure all 4 of our tickets were in the same row. When we checked in online, H and my tickets were switched so we were sitting individually. MIL called the airline and got a supervisor who said we still had our original seats in their system and everything would be fine. Of course, that was not the case when we got to the airport. The people at the service counter were rude and unhelpful and refused to switch our seats. They also apparently no longer do preboarding for families with babies, but we made a big stink and FIL uses a cane so we convinced them to let us on early. They made us dismantle the strollers and carseats and carry them down the jet way ourselves, which means we had 4 extra pieces to carry plus babies plus diaper bags plus our own carry-ons, and it was really challenging. Then we got on the plane and H and I sat in the two seats that were together, only to find out that there is only 1 extra oxygen mask per row so you can't have 2 babies next to each other. Which, of course, no one mentioned to MIL when she booked the tickets.
Eventually the flight attendant moved people around so we were able to sit across the aisle from each other, with MIL and FIL next to us. So it all worked out, but it caused a lot of stress in the meantime. And besides our flight attendant, everyone we dealt with was a mix of unhelpful and just plain incompetant.

Full disclosure: my kid is freakishly syrong. Not all babies can saycer at 5 months.
bocaburger how stressful. I feel like several airlines did alway with preboarding with small children/babies. I was told when we flew with DD that "it wasn't fair to first class ticket holders who paid more." I said that's fine but do we have to be zone 4 (last)? They said that's just where you got placed. Umm how about my kid is crying before boarding the plane bc she sees everyone else moving and doesn't understand waiting her turn at 1.5. Flying these days is so stressful.
Especially when today's recent events makes it even scarier (Ft lauderdale)

I don't do jumperoo until older but exersaucer I started with both kids around 4 months. I just use a blanket behind him so he's better supported. And yes I have both a jumperoo and exersaucer. One was a shower gift and another from my SIL. Luckily we have two living rooms so they aren't taking up space in the same room.
