Hello all,
I would like to join. I was on the TB and seems like all my friends are here.
About us: My little one is 6 weeks old. We had some breastfeeding woes at the beginning, long story short, ended up pumping after every feed to supplement my baby with my own breastmilk because she was inefficient at the breast (determined by LC and breastfeeding scale). We met with local LC/Nurse Practitioner at my peds office (cost of office visit co-pay...so worth it!) every week until week 5. We would do a breastfeeding scale test and weigh her and talk about a plan for the week. During weeks 3-4, noticed baby was spitting up a lot after feeds and did not want her bm bottle anymore, so I stopped supplementing her. At next LC appointment, I was nervous because I stopped supplementing and of course...baby lost weight LC wasn't concerned, thought it may be because of all the changes, we did a breastfeeding test and baby took 3 oz in 15 minutes off one boob! So the LC gave us to go ahead to trial breastfeeding only during week 4-5. At our next LC appointment a week later, baby gained a ton a weight and our LC/NP graduated us! No more appointments until her normal 2 month check-in! Also because we were pumping early, discovered I have a lipase issue. My milk only tastes good 24 hours after in fridge. So on top of everything else, we bought stuff to scald my milk..... Not looking forward to returning to work, pumping, and scalding......
For moms with babies one month to about three months
How's it going? So we are no longer pumping and just breastfeeding. I think it's going well, just nervous for 2 month appointment!
Anything that's still a problem? Not that I am aware of.
Are you getting thru growth spurts ok? I think so!
If you are returning to work when? And have you started pumping yet? Returning to work mid April. As mentioned above, we were pumping after every feed and now we aren't pumping really. I will occasionally pump when I have class (once a month). Yes, I'm in graduate school during maternity leave...boo.
