Okay mamas, I've decided to order a manual hand pump because I just self expressed into a cup more than I've ever pumped with my electric pump. Any recommendations?
I liked my medela harmony last time but I actually have the Avent version on hand this time, I liked that you can recline and still use it. Plus those are the bottles we use. I would have just kept the medela but there is white stuff in it and I was worried it was mold.

I didn't have a rock n play with DS1 but want to start using one with DS2. Stupid questions: It's ok for him to sleep there in our room over night? Do I buckle baby in when he sleeps, even if it's off? Thanks. I am super ignorant.

ashtog, I've missed you! I can't imagine how crazy five kids must be. Huge hugs! And a shit ton of love and respect. C's photo is precious! Such a beautiful baby.
I'm alone in my house! MH just called and suggested we go out to dinner tonight, so excited! Definitely will take my mind off things, I can't believe I'm having the baby tomorrow!!
eeeeeeek! Babies every day! I love it. Enjoy your date!

Loving the current moment. Both boys are snuggled on top of me and sleeping I should nap but I'm just going to soak this up...and use this time to watch what I want on TV.
Guise. My flight commander is the one that told my supervisor to stop by and check on me yesterday. The same commander that doesn't have kids. My flight chief (who just had a baby) ripped her a new one.

I don't have one but think lots of people have baby sleep in the RnP overnight in their rooms. I think you're supposed to buckle LO in to any seat type thing (car seay bouncet etc.) to keep them from slipping down too far which can compress the airway.
Tell me ladies, do I NEED newborn clothes? We got a ton of 0-3 stuff, a bit of other sizes but (luckily?) almost no nb size things besides diapers. From my own shopping we have about 4 onesies, a handful of pants, 2 sleepers. Should I expect to basically be swaddles and diapers for newborn phase anyhow? Should I just get a few more sleepers? I'm figuring I'm probably ok with just the handful of onesies and pants if we venture out in the first few weeks?
ETA: I am looking for a reason to go to Target tonight... It's 830 and I've had enough of the manflu
pibblemom totally depends on the size of your baby. Ds was only in newborn stuff for a week or two. He was 8lb8oz. The 3 months stuff was a tad big but he survived. Soooooo go to a Target and get some newborn sleepers. The best for the first few days, they don't need real outfits yet.
Just had some friends over for pizza and now I feel so huge. But it was yummy and great to catch up with them. Their wedding was the end of September, then the honeymoon, then the holiday craziness and being third trimester lazy....I didn't realize how much I missed them until they were here!

pibblemom, As other posters have said, they generally aren't in NB long but it really depends on the baby. DS1 was so skinny and short limbed (6lbs 11oz) that we had to buy preemie clothes for him to wear the first few weeks and then he was a slow grower and was in NB clothes until he was about 3.5 months. I do not expect the same with W (currently 7lbs 12oz). He still fits NB just fine and some pieces are a little long, but I imagine we'll be in 0-3 by the end of the month.

pibblemom, just reassuring you that you should totes go to target.
Get sleepers... the kind with ZIPPERS. Snaps can be a pain in the ass in the middle of the night! And long sleeve onesies. Then you jsut swaddle to keep the leggies warm! Pants are only necessary when leaving the house. (That goes for baby AND mom).
pibblemom M is swimming in newborn clothes so I definitely couldn't get away with going straight to 0-3 but I expect to be out of the newborn stuff in a month. We have 6 sleepers and 6 long sleeve onesies that we've been rotating through and that has seemed like a good amount. M has been through 6 outfits today bc of spitting up so I'm just doing a load of laundry a day.
Basically this. F's nb sleepers are big on him. But I'm making do with what we have. 8 sleeps maybe? One cute outfit with teeny jeggings and a few long sleeved shirts.
I vote go to Target and pick up a few things. Make sure you have hats and mitts. Babies have sharp little nails!

Interesting. I'm actually Team Snaps. I like being able to undo the bottom part without exposing the chest. But I rarely put him in undershirts as our house is super warm

Team both. Sometimes I like snaps because of the just the bottom rule, especially in the beginning but sometimes zippers are better when they're a bit bigger and squirmy at night.

I loved the snaps for just undoing the bottom too.

True. I've heard a rumor of magnetic snaps which would be the best of both worlds
