Waiting for our first ped checkup. After I need to get bloodwork suggested by my LC. Which will be like the ninth needle stick for me this week, I'm so over being punctured and cut open.
I had a baby yesterday. Ended up having him in hospital as there wasn't a midwife team on for the night due to illness. Wound up with a pool birth so that was nice. Just got home and ordered take out.

Congrats otepoti! Our A14 babies both have siblings. I was all over me this morning, he doesn't understand that mama had surgery and can't have him on my lap all the time

Just got home from pedi appointment. B is down another ounce from Wednesday's weight check. We met right away with the LC and she was wonderful. We have a new feeding plan and she put me on fenugreek, evening primrose oil, and mother's milk tea. We will have another weight check Monday and another appointment with LC on Tuesday. I was upset but I am prepared to do whatever we have to do to help him gain weight.
Last night was rough. Milk came and W cluster fed for a good four hours. I finally got some sleep early this morning in between feeds while DH held him.

Congratulations! I just saw your post on the birth announcements thread and he's adorable.

Thing just keep getting better... I called my ob because my legs and feet are still swollen. She wants me to go to L&D to get checked out. What do I do with baby?! Do I bring him or skip BFing and have my mom bottle feed formula?

Bring him and your mom? That way she can take him home if you're going to be a while but you can BF him while you're there? Otherwise I'd leave him home if you're okay with him getting formula, you can hand express if you need to
Went grocery shopping without a plan. Spent $$. Yet there still isn't anything I want to eat in the house. Typical. At least the toddler is stocked up on all his favorite snacks and meals for when we're in the hospital.
Bs bilirubin levels have come down enough so that we don't have to transfer hospitals. They'll check it again around 10pm and if it's the same or lower they won't worry about him until the morning. Hopefully by then it will be low enough so that he can go back to breastfeeding.
W is starting to wake up but my boob felt like it was going to explode so I hand expressed some milk to relieve some pressure so he could latch easier. In just a couple minutes I got almost 10 ml. 😳

False alarm! Ob called back and told me to wait 24 hours unless one leg gets more swollen than the other or if either leg begins to hurt. So far so good and it looks as if swelling is actually going down.

Good news! Now take a seat and put those feet up! You deserve to relax for a bit.
