Okay, I got it to work. The pup on the right reminds me of my old dog, Oreo, who I miss tremendously and would trade both my current dogs in for if it meant I could have him back. Isn't that terrible of me to say? Actually, I'd only trade my dog Maddy. She's a P.I.T.A.

I've been meaning to ask...how's it going with your dog? The one you almost had to take back to the rescue because of behavior?

jwinct - She is doing great, thanks. Ever since the trainer taught us to have her not be allowed to greet people coming into the house, she's been a lot better. I still don't completely trust her around men/boys, though, and we have decided that any time we have a party at our house, we'll bring the dogs to the kennel (they love it there because it's doggie daycare during the day and they get to play and run all day). I don't want to put her in situations that clearly make her uncomfortable. She loves having people around and is super sweet, but certain men make her really uncomfortable for some reason.

DS is at his 4 month check-up right now and I love that the pedi updates his online chart in real time because I just got an update saying that he is getting 4 shots - Rotarix, Prevnar 13, HIB, and TDap/HepB/IPV. Poor baby. And poor DH... I'm usually the one who brings the kids to their appointments (I prefer to bring them). I'm stalking his online chart for his stats now. LOL

Nothing doing today. I think my parents and my little sister and her BF are coming out today and staying the weekend, but I have to call and confirm. They're either coming this afternoon or tomorrow, depending on if my stepdad has to work tomorrow or not. We went halfsies with them (my parents) on half a pig and half a cow, so they're bringing the meat to us.

Anyway, I'm having anxiety because a) socializing and b) I guess my mom and little sister had the stomach flu Tues/Wed. I DNMFW any more sickness here. Especially not that.

I actually need to go out and get some random tolietries and formula, but it's not an emergency yet. I think I'm going to put if off till tomorrow and use it an excuse to get away for a bit.

Nothing exciting today. Both girls are at daycare and I have today off. I'm going to go buy a few things at target and then kon Mari the baby's clothes. She has a ridiculous amount that she will never even wear. I am overwhelmed when I try to get her dressed just by the sheer numbers.

DS's stats have been updated. He's 26" long, 16.6 lbs and his head circumference is 44.50 cm (99%). They have "increased head circumference" as a condition. WTF does that mean?! Why is this a condition?? I'm dying for DH to call me now. I'm worried.

The freaking school nurse just called me again that DD has another headache! I told her that she is not coming home again because of a headache and if she needs it, DH will bring her some Motrin since he's got today off. Now I'm wondering if it's eye strain. I think we need to set firmer limits on her screen time. We are way too lax with it.

I get this way about baby clothes too, but also have a hard time letting go. I was so proud when I donated a bunch of winter clothes back in November. Some of the stuff was hand-me-downs that where still too big for my kids, but I knew they'd never wear. Someone else might as well get use out of perfectly fine warm winter clothes. Hoping to do the same in the spring.

And I'm finally letting go of a lot of my clothes too. I bagged up 20 pairs of maternity pants alone to donate! And I don't know if we're done with kids so that's not even all of them I own! (However, most of them were handed down and I never actually wore because they were the wrong size. All the more reason to get them outta my house!).

Just another day in the office. I have a light workload right now so I'm going to run some errands over lunch.

We're taking DS1 to a women's bbal game tonight. He's been making comments like "girls can't do that" when talking about things like sports and construction so I'm going to show him that girls can play bball. Just because the only other game he saw was men, doesn't mean girls can't play. He'll just be excited for the popcorn:)

+1 in so many clothes DS2 will never wear. He's a big baby and seems to outgrow his clothes faster than I can wash them and get them into circulation. I tend to grab the same zippered foot pjs over and over, and don't get to the cuter but less practical stuff. I cleared out some of the excess 0-3M clothes to a local charity. I still hang onto more than I should because we think we want one more kid.

All three of us are snotty and coughing. Yay

DS managed to take a little chunk out of my nipple so every time he latches on it it's excruciating. His latch has been a little sloppy lately, thinking of making an appt with an LC to get it checked out. I also noticed he has a severe lip tie no one's mentioned before.

Need to go to Costco if we all feel up to it, running quite low on TP. Plus another million things on the to do list that never seems to shrink.

We were just talking about the same thing last night. DS1 has some very strong gender associations for some reason. For example, he gets very upset when I drive the truck because, "But mom, boys drive trucks. Girls drive cars." And then the other night he was dressed in his "doctor" costume and he said "I'm a PA ma!" And I said, "Oh really? How come you're never a nurse?" To which he responded, "Because boys aren't nurses." 😐

We read books about boys and girls being able to do the same things and I always tell him "Girls can drive trucks too!", so the only thing I can come up with is that he holds those associations because that's all he's been exposed to so far.

jwinct my nephew's head circumference has been literally off the charts since he was a newborn. It's never been a concern.

FWIW, DS1's chart has "Small for Gestational Age" listed as a problem, but his pediatrician never addressed it as a concern. It's weird to me.
ETA: I think they have to address things that are statistically abnormal, even if they're necessarily concerning and an actual problem.

britta yeah, you can't fault a 3 year old in this situation. The other night he requested DH draw him a crane. DH drew a crane on a construction site and a female worker in a hard hat. DS asked who the person was and DH responded it was Mommy. DS said, "No, Mommy's not a boy." I informed him that part of my job is working on construction sites and showed him my hard hat, boots, and reflective vest.

Although, the best is when he thinks girls are playing football because long hair = girl. He now knows that men can have long hair too.

britta - Yeah, I talked to DH and he said the pedi wasn't concerned because his head's been large from the start, and said he'll grow into it.

jwinct that is also on DS' chart. Like britta said, I think they just have to document anything out of the norm. I wouldn't worry about it unless you notice other symptoms that could indicate an issue. Some kids just have bigs heads

I love hearing about all your toddlers, both the good and bad (at least I'll be prepared). It's a favorite age for me, though I'm not quite ready to be thinking of M all grown up and walking and talking.

TGIF. DH and I are going to a food benefit downtown tomorrow, I am SO excited! It's our V-Day two weeks early cause the tickets were $$$ but it goes to the food kitchen and a program that gets food to children, so totally worth it. So excited to dress up, stay out late, and binge on bites. Just trying to figure out what dress to wear - I have two, nice Jaquard style dresses in dark purple and orange and a fancy wrap around, midi-length black one. What say you, ladies? I can put up pics tonight if folks are interested.

I did this in December. It went fine, but DS2 was also barely 2 months old. Prayers sent.

Lack of sleep is making me delirious. Like actually feel woozy and stuff. I really wish we had family nearby just to drop off the kids for a few hours for a freaking nap.

Guyz - My clothes are starting to get looser! I started doing WW a few weeks ago and I seriously think my scale was/is on the fritz because the first week it told me I lost 5.6 pounds, then the next week, it told me I gained 2.5 lbs (which shocked me because I've been so good staying on plan), but my shirts are definitely looser than they were a month ago and my pants are starting to get loose. My weigh-in day is tomorrow, but I weighed myself this morning and I was down a few pounds. I really think I've lost more than my scale has been giving me credit for, though, because 6 pounds wouldn't make my clothes noticeably looser.

Nothing terribly exciting today. I want to make a Target run at some point, and DD has her 4m appointment at 1:30. I also have to go grocery shopping soon. Poor DS and DD are so so snotty.

I've had an interesting day so far.

I had a phone interview at 9am that I think went well and I'm waiting to hear if they want to do a face to face interview. I wasn't looking for another job, but my recruiter told me I needed to at least hear it out. It's significantly closer to home and a giant pay increase...but it's basically building the accounting from the ground up so I foresee a lot of long hours. I'm not sure yet how I feel about it.

We have a bridal shower today for a co-worker that I'm excited for - she has no idea we're doing this. I have to go pick up her cake on my lunch break and a few other little desserts.

Tomorrow DH and I have a date night - a friend of ours is turning 30 and we're going to a big fancy dinner.

hikingmama222 that sounds really painful!

I sent my toddler to daycare even though her temp was 99.4 and her nose was running. (Their cutoff is 100.4.) I felt really bad and wanted to keep her home but stupid maternity leave ate up my sick days and DH had an important meeting at work today.

Daycare said O took .5oz of her bottle. So I still need to feed her over lunch but at least it's something.

fem I hope you told them to try every hour and send in like 4 one ounce bottles. That's their job! They need to keep trying. I hope she catches on. My little seems to be doing better and better. He's taking 3 ounces at a time now. I told them not to give him more than that because I can't keep up, but they can increase frequency and just give him another ounce or so. Never thought I would have this so soon! It's really still hard to plan bottles and how much. I just gave a lot of frozen and discretion and told them not to throw it out, to leave it for me to take home if he doesn't finish a bottle.
