Tuesdays are for going the eff home! C is down a full lb from birth and they forced me to supplement. I have all kinds of feels and broke down in front of the nurse. My milk is definitely coming in, but I screwed up and let her sleep as long as she wanted Sunday because Saturday had been so hard and my nips hurt so much. I know that if it comes in fine there should be no issues, but goddamn these hormones man.
peaseblossom55, I'm glad E is being so good for you. I hope her appt goes well.
lakegirl, have not yet had to, but would do the same.
Sorry pibblemom. Those first couple weeks are tough on your nips. Were you able to pump colostrum? I was able to pump some colostrum in the hospital and syringe feed for those first few days before my milk fully came in. Don't beat yourself up though, you had a rough delivery and c/s recovery and trying to bf can be rough at first, just keep powering through best you can.
DS just had his one month app't, he's almost up a kilo from his lowest weight! We're going to the Italian embassy to get his Italian passport started so we can get out of Switzerland in a few weeks.
Up nursing here. I went to bed at 12:45 but I guess ds gave mh a hard time about sleeping so he took an hour to go down. Still he slept about 4 hours. Why am I so tired then?
Ugh. I pumped and got almost 2 oz and spilled 1.5 oz of it on the bed. We have formula so W will still get fed but that was a bummer. At least I know my production is up? And now I'm awake waiting for W to wake up so I can feed him and change him.

Yes, the LC had me pumping and spoon feeding her colostrum. Wasn't more than a few drops, but it was definitely there. My milk is transitioning right now I think. C woke up right after I posted and we got a good 35 min feed in, when she came off the BM was definitely more milky than before and my boobs are heavy and hot. She took 30 ml of the formula after and now we're just kind of chilling, waiting to see if maybe there's more sleep for mom and Katie before we go home or not.
I'm so tired. L doesnt seem to want to go more than 1.5 hrs between feedings ever, usually only an hour. He gained 4 oz in 1 day, he's clearly not starving. I'm am starving but don't want to get out of bed. Dilemmas!
*hugs* pibblemom we're suppose to break out of hospital jail today too and I also had a slight meltdown with the nurse because I was tired and wanted coffee and dd is sleepy and being a lazy eater. So life twins! One step at a time.
Tuesdays are for more coffee. I have my OB checkup today and then immediately when I get home are our newborn pics. I hope DD1 does well, it's right before her nap time.

So yay E is already being super fussy today. Lucky me. So I'm pumping and have the tv on we have a huge tv and she is staring at it memorized. At least she is quiet.

carrots, I'm probably not too helpful because B does fall asleep easily after diaper changes and seems to be prone to rashes already. I change him either before or after feedings, so roughly every two hours. I do change him if he poops between feedings (if I hear it or if he wakes up because of it). But like I said, he does fall asleep right away. Now, if he weren't rashy and falling asleep was tricky, I'd probably let him be unless it sounded really explosive.
ETA: I take it back, I think I would change him unless it was close to a feeding...

carrots, if I am feeding baby and she poops, I change her after the feeding. If she is awake and poops, I'll wait about 3 or 4 minutes to make sure she's done and then change her.
If she's been sleeping for a couple hours and I hear her poop, I'll pick her up and change her right away to wake her up and feed her. If I've just put her down and I hear her poop, its a toss up. If it's been a calm and happy few hours, I will change her right away. If it has been a miserable day, I may let it go for a little while (unless it sounded like a biggie).
Hugs and ass slaps to those who need them. I'm one- can I hug or ass slap myself? Picturing that right now...
My client had her baby on the 29th at 6:15pm. Against all odds she was born alive! I have all these beautiful pictures of her and video clips. She's so beautiful. They named her Faith and she's still hanging in there!
As for me, C still doesn't sleep more than an hour and a half and L woke up 45 minutes earlier and I literally cried when he woke up. Because so so tired. 5 weeks today of so tired. Mh saw this as a big thing and asked for the day off BUT his dad said he'd send his mom over instead. So I'm going to go have a good long nap.
I'm so glad you're getting a break today ashtog, you've got a lot on your plate. I'm all teary eyed now thinking of your clients getting this precious time with their little Faith ❤️
