Also in cluster feeding hell again. She isn't satisfied more than 10 mins after a 45 min feed, throws tantrum, can't latch because tantrum, repeat. The nipples on the formula ruined her desire for mine after just 1 night it seems.
I looked at her feed log pibblemom and almost cried. By the time you feed them, change them, hold them upright for a bit to avoid puking it all back up, and then use the bathroom yourself it's time to start all over again. Just have to power through.
What are you using on your nips? I had better luck with coconut oil over the creams.

I'm finding myself wishing this time would fly by and we were at the set bedtime stage. Momming is so much easier when they go to bed and you get some time to yourself.
Need to start a once daily pump today to get some milk stashed. But, she's always on my damn boobs so they feel so empty. I know they're technically never "empty," but they just feel like the pump would be a giant waste of time.
Oh and we think DD might have a cold. Her breathing sounds so stuffed up. But, she also spits up out her nose, so maybe this is the start of reflux? I remember DS sounding congested from his reflux.
weeklyplanner I know there's no real "first" feed of the day right now but could you pump one side early in the AM while you nurse on the other? I know that worked out nicely for myself last time and a whole lot of other people I know since hormones in the AM and whatnot.
pibblemomlakegirl these early days are tough! I literally have L latched to me all day and even though his latch is good it's starting to take a toll. Team coconut oil here.
Of course L would still be sleeping 1.5 hours after I decided to get up. Cleaners are coming today, so I've been trying to straighten up a bit, but damn does it ever hurt to walk right now. Anyone else deal with lower back pain? I did have some back labor. Excited for a clean house though. I even took a shower while H dropped DS1 off at school since L was passed out!

Well, hooked up to my new pump and it's like riding a bike, ha. Comes right back to you. I got the hygeia Enjoye free from my insurance. Looks like I got about 2.5 oz, so I think I like it.

Those of you that had early January babies, are you finding and routine to their sleep yet? Last night DD thought it would be cool to be awake every 20-30 min until 1am and then finally gave me two 2.5 hour stretches. But, yeah, partying until 1am wasn't fun. I can't remember when they start to take 3-4 naps a day and give a longer stretch around "bedtime."

E has some sort of a routine a bit at least at night. I just wish the gap between feedings would go longer. I am so tired and H has hockey tonight. It is going to be a long day. At least we can start E's Zantac this afternoon.
lakegirl, I'm using lanolin to basically lube when I pump and a formula my midwives make that's called triple nipple cream. They told me what's in it but I don't remember, but it's worked wonders in just a day.
Ds must be exhausted from his three exciting days of grandparent entertainment. I'm sure his schedule is whacked too. However this means he is being super chill this morning and it's a nice trial run for being alone with both.
The break from me also seems to have reset his ability to play independently! Praise everything! He was so clingy the last couple of weeks but I suspect he knew things were about to change.
@joybaby5 I've been feeding M when the grunting starts bc I don't want to be awake for the whole hour while she wakes herself up. Then there's another 30-60 minutes of grunting after she's done eating. I'm a little nervous about how it will go bc DS's room is across the hall from her room but I'm planning to crank his sound machine as loud as it goes and hope for the best.
I bought a dohm sound machine for his room, on top of the other one already in there 😬 I haven't put the new one in there yet, but I'm not above using two, if it means he sleeps through the crying.
I've been thinking about getting another one. One in his room and one in the hallway/landing area? And probably another because I'm using the one that's suppose to be nursery and I don't want to give it back when dd moves in there! Four isn't excessive right?

Well DS1 was an ass last night. Three is going to suck... anyways, he was great this morning. I turned the tv on and let him stare at it while I got an extra hour of sleep. Drop off went well (two good days in a row!). Big plans: changing the sheets and putting laundry away!

Hugs and hair pats to everyone.
I feel so awful about my lack of patience last night. I don't know if I was extra tired from cleaning all day or what because we've had long awake times at night before and it's never irritated me so much. After 2.5 hours, I finally made H get up and warm up a couple ounces in a bottle and fed it to him. He clearly wasn't too hungry because he barely drank an ounce but at least he finally fell asleep for the next couple hours.

weeklyplanner, Kinda? I can usually guarantee that W will wake up between 1:45 and 2am regardless of when he goes to sleep but every now and then he pushes it to 3. After that, it's been a crap shoot of waking up an hour later or two hours later. His wakeups are usually an hour apart after that.

thelittleredm, patience is running low around here too. Do you think you'll be able to get a nap today? This stage of life really sucks. There is no eloquent way to put it, it just sucks.

Cloth diaper friends (lakegirl, rinny, @orangcrush, pibblemom... Sorry if I got it wrong or missed anyone!) I have never used prefolds nor have I ever CDed a newborn. So B is wearing a newborn AIO right now but I want to try a prefold next diaper change. I just watched a few videos but wanted to know how you guys fold them.
Also, I know BF poop is water soluble and can go straight into washing machine but B is getting mostly formula at this point. Do I need to dunk/ swish or spray off the poop like I do for DS1? TIA!
heybulldog56 I just tried a prefold yesterday, I've never CDed a newborn either. I used the jelly roll and it contained poop which was a victory in my book. I'm also open to tips and suggestions!
I would definitely try to plop or spray with combo feeding. I combo fed with DD1 around 6 months and I wasn't spraying the diapers and they got smelly.
DD1 is out with my mom so it's just baby F and I. This reminds me of the early days with DD1. I feel bad because F is put down so much these days! I am hoping to feel well enough soon to wear her more.

@orangcrush, I was just thinking about how this child is put down more than DS1 ever was. I've put him in the boba wrap a few times but he is usually in rock n play or on the floor. I was thinking of trying a ring sling today. We shall see.
heybulldog56 I lay him flat on the prefolds, then just fold in thirds to get up between his legs. Ours are still too long, so in the front I kind of flip over, then fasten with snappi. I'm too lazy for anything special and it works for us.
We put all newborn poo right in the wash and just do a pre rinse cycle

heybulldog56, I invited my mom to come hang out after she gets off work so I'm hoping she comes in case I don't get one before then because I know she'd be happy to take care of the boys while I slept.
