ellabee best news EVER when your babe is gaining and healthy. I was an emotional wreck when dd had jaundice issues, so happy for you guys that she's doing well!
pivot yeah I did my best to make notes ahead of time for her but forgot to include things like "double click" and "press enter" 😂 at least we know these babies are worth it! I'll remind dd2 of what I went through when she's older.

ellabee, glad B is doing well! Constant heel pricks do not sound fun.
I just logged in to view my platelets test results. They are 157, and the lowest normal range number is 133. It's a little close for my comfort, especially since they have steadily dropped every time I get my blood tested. Hopefully they can tell me what to do about it at my next appointment. And now I can focus on worrying about the GBS results, which I'm assuming won't be in until early next week. DNW to be positive!! Lol

shawnabm1320 that platelet level is nothing to be worried about. I run on the lower end too. The concern is if you were out of normal range. We don't even do anything unless they are around 100 or lower.

The only reason I'm worried is because when I went into labor with DS it was in the 90's and dropped lower after he was born. And they kept testing me and made me stay an extra day and come back a few days after delivery. It was just a big hassle. Of course, I don't know what they were at 37ish weeks last time, so who knows what was going on last time, I guess.
ellabee grow, baby, grow! That's great news- good job, mama!
shellbell enjoy your time at home with your family
@monicagellar I hope they come up with a solution that works for you if you don't want to be induced. I touched on this yesterday, but with my last pregnancy my OB let my BP just hang out at pretty high levels since I was passing all the blood/urine tests and passing my NSTs.
coffeeonice, pivot I would not be able to control my face if I had to teach someone how to save a file or they emailed me about something I wrote out for them. Like, I would be audibly sighing and rolling my eyes. Hopefully you get out of there soon and it's one of those situations that makes everyone realize how much they love you.
musicallyinclined congrats again. So cute that DS was excited to hold the baby!
LO passed his NST and seems to be doing great. I am still measuring behind and lost a little more weight, but my OB doesn't seem to think it's an issue. I guess there is not much else they can do since I had a growth US last week that measured 50th %tile. He didn't even check me, which was a bit of a let down but I go back Monday. I am getting really excited and want to meet our baby, but I don't think anything is happening soon.
Ohhh, and I found this random website that calcs your odds of spontaneously going into labor on any given day. My odds today are 1.5%.

Oh man. That is a huge hassle. At least they are keeping an eye on it, given your history. Hopefully they just stay where they are and you can cross it off your list of things to worry about.

Ok. So I just got a phone call from my OB's office. If I don't go into labor beforehand, I'll get induced on the 10th.
I'm irrationally happy about this. I don't want to have to get induced, but it's SO nice to finally have a definitive end date in sight!!!
I 100% agree. The endless not knowing is killer. I literally scheduled an induction with myself in my heart of hearts lol. I just told myself that if I get to 40 weeks I'll ask to be induce at 41+2 because that's March 1st. Seems fitting if I go late to be done by the beginning of March. So I just tell myself no matter what you'll be done by then 🤗 let's hope it's that easy to get the date you want. Glad you have a set date!
It was a beautiful day here so I slipped out of work early and picked up DD and we went for a stroller walk. Ended up walking over 2 miles. I feel good though so I'm glad we went!

Thanks everyone! All bloodwork, urine, and nst came back fine. So they let me go back to work with no official restrictions other than "take it easy." I go back to the office in the morning just for a BP check and again on Monday for a nst and appointment with the Dr.
Crossing my fingers gets I can keep BP down. Taking it easy it not really in my vocabulary, so we'll see how this goes.
The brake light turned on in our car again. That probably means there is a leak somewhere in the break system. IIRC, it was expensive to fix.
When your not-too-valuable car has a problem that *needs* to be fixed for it to be safe, how do you decide whether to fix it or buy a different inexpensive car?

For me, it would depend on the price of the repair and the state of our finances.
Let's say the repair is $1000. What are the chances that the car won't need another expensive repair next month? That money could go a long way in the purchase of new car. But if it seems like you won't need to make other repairs, a one time payment is cheaper than a car or a car payment.
I feel like it's a little bit of a gamble either way.

I've been contracting irregularly all day....5 minutes-15 minutes apart. It's been going on since about noon. They are a little stronger than my regular BH...hoping that this continues but develops an actual pattern. Right now it's all over the place, and just uncomfortable enough that I can't really relax. At least I'll be at work tonight regardless....right?
So I had a second degree tear, and I also have a cough. It's excruciating to cough. I'm irrationally wondering if I am risking doing damage to my repair by coughing?

I had two first degree tears and I never realized how many things I feel in my crotch until then. For instance, every time I sneezed I was terrified...it's just started to feel like I won't break something when I do. It feels like it, but you're not harming yourself.

What a blah day. Had my midwife appointment, and on trend with the rest of the damn town my favorite midwife was sick so I had to see another one. Not that the other one sucks, but people in this town are just carrying this awful flu around and A) I don't want to get sick and B) don't want my favorite midwife to be sick when I deliver. She's been the most consistent one I've met with and I feel most at ease with her. Then she checks me and just palpating baby through my belly says "well, we won't bother you with the cervical check today, I can hold baby's whole head in my hand and they are laying with their back to your left. Needs to come down a bit before we get too excited." Now I've said many times I'm not in a rush, but last week baby's head was engaged. Now they are crawling back up? Come on. Also measuring 40 weeks at 38w+1.
Then on the drive home the view of the mountains was so pretty I told H he was not painting anymore, we were going to pack up the kids and go enjoy the beach since it was a nice warm day. Everything was going great until we turned to walk back and DD1 had a meltdown because she didn't want to walk, and DD2 had a meltdown because she didn't want to get back in the carrier. Then DH got all pissy and stressed out. Ya, that doesn't help them if you're snippy and angry.
Now I'm trying to sooth the bear by telling him we'll go out to supper tonight after we drop the kids at his parents to go to a meeting about Kindergarten registration. Oh yeah, my first is going into Kindergarten. Too many feels for one pregnant lady today.
littleredfish, hugs. Toddler/ children meltdowns are the worst. Add in pregnancy and a salty H, and it's a recipe for complete misery. I'm sorry. I hope the evening is better, or at the very least tomorrow is.

Are you guys regularly freeze-misting your downstairs? I think I had a 2nd degree, but I literally sprayed the numbing spray every pee break and I hardly felt anything. If you guys are already then I'm just sorry recovery is so tough 😬

I can't bring myself to spray, I just don't like it. I'm managing to tolerate this discomfort with mega-Motrin. Most othe pain meds make me nauseous.

Good luck, flyinghorses6! Maybe all the walking tonight will help things get moving!
I hate to complain about how tired I am when I don't even have a newborn, but I am so tired. Lol. I'm doing the dishes and going to bed. And I'm really hoping DS doesn't decide to have a motn party like he did last night. Ugh.

Good luck flyinghorses6 if it's not the real deal at least I hope it will be a quiet night for you. Sorry you are having a rough day littleredfish Not sure if you wanted one or not, but the no cervical check would have been a tiny redeeming moment for me.
