Hi! Happy Saturday. Mh is off the whole weekend but he worked last night so I'm not sure if he is going to want to do anything today. Sometimes he wants to stay up and do something other times he wants to go straight to sleep. If he wants to stay up I think we will go to the farmers market. I'm excited he is off, it's nice to have a second set of hands, even though he can often have less patience for dd than I would like. I'm just hopeful for a little alone time.
meeggaannw I hope you get some time alone! That gif was me yesterday. Ds went down for his nap, my parents left, I nursed the baby to sleep, and then ate my hoagie in heavenly peace. It was a dream.
DH is off on a trip all day but I have a friend coming over with her son for a play date with DS1. I think her husband is coming too which is great because he'll play with the boys all day while we sit on the sofa chatting. I may try to sneak in a short nap while they're here. I mean they're coming to help, so that's ok right?
Oh lakegirl I love a good Cadbury egg, especially frozen!
Mh just got home. We decided during our motn texting he was going to bring me Starbucks, guess what he forgot?! I'm trying not to be annoyed, but I'm annoyed.
I realized yesterday that we can't baptize F during Lent, and then it's pushing it so close to DDs second bday after Easter. If I wait til summer she won't fit in our family's christening gown tho.
@orangcrush thanks for checking in! He was down into the 102s when he woke up before getting meds. But he ate a ton for breakfast and is staying hydrated so I'm trying to relax a little. Hopefully it's just the 24 hour circle time crud. He has no other symptoms and I didn't think teething fevers got that high? The doctor said his two year molars were about to pop on one side back in November. Toddlers man.
It's our first full day all home! DS1 has been at daycare all week. So far so good. He cracks me up - his solution to everything is blankets. Every time the baby fusses he brings him a blanket. My heart.
After Bs 5:30am session he went back down until 9:30. I miraculously woke up on my own at 8:45 feeling rested. That's the latest I've slept in ages. It was so nice not to be woken up by a toddler or crying baby.
Low-key day here. DH I was trying to decide whether to spend another night at his parents house with DD. I'm all for it. I'm with you meeggaannw and lakegirl - I just want to eat a meal by myself in peace.
@orangcrush I ran into the same Lent problem for M's Baptism. We're squeezing it in the Saturday after easter which is the weekend before I go back to work - not ideal.
+1 on that as well. We are having DHs grandfather do it back in TX while I'm on maternity leave and my leave ends right before Easter. I am taking an extra two weeks, but we want to be able to relax a little and not have to rush back home to VA after the baptism.

@orangcrush Daniel Tiger has been doing so much parenting here the last few weeks. And now Doc McStuffins is helping out (and I have the song stuck in my head to prove it)

DH is working 11-5 today so this will be my first time solo through lunch and nap. Last night N.slept at the perfect times for me to feed DS and I dinner and to put him to bed. It'll be raining again so no walk for DS. I don't think I'm up to it anyway.
I need to download our final newborn photo selections since they are ready and I need to pay my car registration. No other plans aside from rest and keep us all fed and alive.

I'm pretty sure our nights are just getting worse and worse. What happened to my baby that slept 3-4 hours at a time? He didn't even do his normal three hour first stretch. He woke up after an hour and a half and then every hour after.
TTMA about silent reflux. I feel like there was a discussion on here before and some of the stm's have dealt with. I'm beginning to wonder if C might have it. If so, do I wait it out or get meds? How do they even diagnose it?

meeggaannw Cadbury eggs frozen??? That sounds amazing.
At this rate it looks like E's baptism will be June 11th bc of lent and other conflicts. I'm tired despite a good night of sleep. I have to be at the theatre tonight for a little bit to help out. No other plans for the rest of the weekend. H is still asleep I'm kind of annoyed I wish he was up already.

Pretty sure we're dealing with this. LO rarely spits up but is clearly uncomfortable after feeding and especially if on his back. I can see him kind of burp/bring something up grimace and swallow then he cries a little. Essentially they get the burn twice If this is what he has it can last months so I'm planning to call the pedi on Monday to see if she'll prescribe meds. I think she willas I mentioned this last week. If there's no improvement in a few weeks I'll stop them. DS1 had bad reflux with spit up until about 8mo so I'm pretty sure this is the same thing just less messy.

Ugh I don't think I can deal for months. I really think she has it. She does the swallowing thing and seems so uncomfortable after eating and will cry when she's been flat. She's been sleeping in the rnp there is no way she could sleep in the bassinet right now without crying I think I will call the pedi on Monday too.
vlagroupie, the meds made a huge difference with DS1, so while it took a little while for him to get used to taking them it was definately worth it. It must be miserable for them!

Thanks. I'm just frustrated that I didn't get meds or answers at her 1 mo appt on Friday. I mentioned about it but I hadn't done enough research to feel confident in pushing the pedi about it. She only said that I need to try holding her upright after feeding for 15 mins. That just wasn't helping today, it seems worse than previous days.

We think B is constipated or something. He's been crying, squirmy, and uncomfortable after eating. He was up for two hours in the middle night (during H's shift, poor man).
Dear J17 babies, what is up with the reflux, gas, and constipation?! Ugh.
meeggaannw, farmers market sounds wonderful! That's the one thing I miss in the winter time in NJ is the lack of seasonal local food. Sorry about your lack of Starbucks 😖
@orangecrush, could you do a double party? Would it be the same list of invites? 1 less party is less work on you. Think of it as consolidating?
biscotto, please tell me you napped during that beautiful time!
rinny, so cute!! Blankets do in fact fix everything 😁
bazinga, I hope you get a nap in! If friends are coming to help, I vote definitely ok to nap if you can!
ellabee, I'm glad you're rested and having a low key day.
silvermelody, thank you for the reminder about your registration! Our insurance is due today! Ugh.
thelittleredm, your nights comment reminded me about what my MW said last night. I'd told her DD slept beautifully at the hospital and was reasonably predictable but at least slept swaddled in the bassinet. She said they put the batteries in at discharge 😂😂
peaseblossom55, I'm glad you are able to get out and go to the theater to help.
Sorry to everyone dealing with tummy troubles. I am counting my blessings that so far so good on that front. But my kid doesn't let me put her on her back regardless of whether she just ate or not so I'd have no way of knowing.
I'm laying here just soaking up baby snuggles for the weekend. So far C seems perfectly content with that, other than the occasional latching melt down
