DS1 is asleep before 11 for the first time in two weeks. The amoxicillin is finally out of his system and the hyperactivity that went with it. Hoping to get back to normal for bed times soon.
It makes him hyperactive? Its what DS is on for his UTI
Big hugs vlagroupie, I would definitely still call your pedi to discuss. They may be more inclined to try the meds based on the symptoms you describe. While im not a Dr, babies don't need to be struggling to gain weight etc to have a treatable problem and be miserable. DS1 gained weight without issues while ripping my nipples apart with a tongue tie and having reflux (but no no arching). Treating both of those things made huge differences for both us. It was only after trying the ZAntac and seeing the improvement that our pedi was comfortable in confirming the diagnosis. I'm so thankful she was willing to try with checking/ monitoring...
DS had silent reflux. The meds were life changing. He cried so much until he got on the right medication. Besides the crying and "I just swallowed puke face," he also wanted to nurse all the time (milk was soothing the acid burn), had a dairy intolerance (common in reflux babies) and basically never napped. Definitely call the pedi and ask!
What meds did you get? And how did they diagnose it?
I forgot to initially say that DS arched his back like crazy and had trouble nursing--very fussy, like he was in pain while nursing.
He ended up on Prevacid after Zantac didn't work great. I spoke with my pedi and told her all the symptoms. She agreed that we should try meds and see if things improved. They improved immediately after the first dose. Then, if was just a matter of getting the correct med and dosage. He was then on the medication until he was 9 or 10 mo old.

It can be one of the side effects. That was the first time he was on it. Some kids it had no effect on.

vlagroupie, I'm so sorry you're dealing with that with your baby. I'm frustrated for you that urgent care wasn't more helpful and that her pedi is much much more helpful. FX you don't just have a colicky baby and that you guys are able to get something to help her feel better!
Brunch with my family today for my brother's birthday. My mom is the type that lives for her kids and expects all of us (me and 3 brothers and significant others and kids) to attend get togethers for all holidays and birthdays. It's kind of excessive since between all 4 siblings and partners and parents and kids and holidays that's practically every weekend in the year. 🙄 With 2 kids now, I can foresee a time pretty soon we're going to have to start saying no...
I'm starting to think we have some silent reflux going on over here too vlagroupie. B arches his back after feeding and makes uncomfortable gagging faces like he's bringing up/swallowing something. He also spits up a lot after big feeds and seems to want to overeat when he's clearly full.
DD had bad reflux and was on Prevacid. We only got put on meds after she started spitting up a bit of blood from all the esophagus irritation. ☹️ hopefully this time around we can catch it before it gets too bad.

In laws are here. FIL is doing laundry, MIL is feeding baby a bottle. Dh is watching some show on doughnuts and I think I'll shower. Super exciting day in the Bulldog house.

ellabee start saying no. My mom is the same way and the only way around it was moving far far away. Well, that's not entirely true as the two siblings that are still local have started saying no, but I understand. Hope brunch is yummy!
heybulldog56 enjoy your stress free shower! Your ILs sound awesome.
We're on wakeup 3, it's 7:30. DS just got up but DH is handling him. I'm hungry but really want to go back to bed.

My family used to have get togethers for everything (birthdays and holidays) when I was growing up. We have lived out of state for the last 4 years (3 of those in Hawaii) so my parents have given up on the idea of us being g there for everything. It's just not feasible for us.

TMI question: Does anyone else's PP bleeding completely stop for days at a time and then return? It's so annoying because I never know when to expect it to return.
Also, unrelated but also tmi, I decided to relax in my bath robe after a shower while DS is out with DH and DD is sleeping. Apparently my boobs decided this would be a good time to leak. Lovely...all showered and now covered in breast milk.

H & I plan to get a lot of cleaning done today. The house has been so neglected. I would start now but E is napping and I don't want to wake her. I think some of it is laziness too for the moment anyway.

weeklyplanner, My PP bleeding does that frequently. I'm over the random spotting. I wear a pad or panty liner every day because I never know when it's going to happen. And for leaky boobs? Happens all day ery day. I can't go without wearing something that keeps nursing pads in place.
It's 9:40 and both kids are still sleeping. Which means at least one will wake up now that I've mentioned it. Oh well. Going to my parents when they're up to hang out for awhile before going to the ILs for the Super Bowl.
MH and DD are braving the grocery store and baby is napping. It's my nephews 3rd birthday and they're going over to their house for the superbowl tonight. I wanted to go to get out of the house but don't even think I'm up for it.

weeklyplanner PP bleeding: yep. It had basically stopped and then I made the mistake and picked up DS and went to filling a pad in 3-4 hours for a whole day. It's normal for it to come and go based on your activity level.
With DS I thought I was done and that my period was back 7v weeks PP but it was just more lochia
@orangcrush groceries today?? Brave. I kinda wanted more snacks for the game but do not want to deal with the crowd

I'm sorry It's so weird, today C has been a model baby. She's not been fussing and been eating good and actually napping today. So, idk maybe she just had a fussy day yesterday and I blamed it on reflux bc she seemed so uncomfortable. I can't figure this kid out.

This is me exactly. I started getting more bright red blood yesterday then it stopped. I'm convinced I'm getting my period bc I also had some cramping. With my first I got my period at 6 weeks it was the worst. So I'm fully expecting the same this time, I don't understand how I can be nursing and get it so early. I have moved her to her own room so maybe that's part of it. And we probably need to do more skin to skin. Anyway sorry to all for the annoying pp bleeding.
Busy busy busy over here. Mh made some amazing breakfast sandwiches. I got the house cleaned up a bit and folded a metric ton of laundry. Ran out (all by myself! Heavenly!) to a big consignment sale and bought a bunch of stuff for dd. Plus I hit up the liquor store for some gin. First pp gin & tonic here I come!
Oh! And ds was fever free this morning! Wheeeeee one less thing to stress about.
Oh! After dd's 3.5 hour stretch she gave me another 2.5. Mh took care of ds when he woke up so I slept in till almost 8. I think I'm going to try to make Mh sleeping in the guest room and taking ds a regular occurance once a week. Having the whole bed to myself and dd's cooperation made all the difference and I feel like a million bucks.
Went to brunch and timed it well enough so that B napped through the whole thing. We went back to my parents house for cake and I was able to feed him, get him back in the car seat and napping for the ride home. I'm sitting getting an oil change right now, so I'm feeling productive.
I have buffalo wings prepped for the game, so now if I can just get DD and B down so I can actually watch some of it...
I have only gotten up from the couch once today (!). I'm still in quite a bit of pain but I think I'm starting to agree more and more with the notion of it being muscular. Gahhhh why must I still be having so much trouble over a week after an uncomplicated vaginal delivery? My body tends to go overboard on the relaxin during pregnancy so maybe it's just because it takes some time to get out of one's system?
DS1 just woke from his nap and he and DH went up to the store to go get some stuff. W is sleeping on my chest, but I need to set him down in the RNP so I can pump.
