Be kind to yourself kida. Food is my tricky point too. My mom just showed up with cupcakes yesterday and I'm really struggling to cut my sweet tooth.
Like @rocknrollfriend, I had to be dairy/soy free while nursing my first. Forced clean eating was great for my weight loss but I just can't seem to find the self-control to willingly deprive myself of dairy. :/
ETA: day 22 done! The pike push-ups looked different in her guide than in person. I did them...sort of?
My oldest had MSPI so I went on a super strict diet as well. Turns out it was the only time in my life that my anxiety and depression were under control so I'm now off dairy completely. What a life changer! My weight, energy, mood, strength have all improved. I feel so much better now that it only bothers me when I make my kids grilled cheese or mac and cheese and can't join in on the fun.
I finished day 22. Those pike plank things were interesting to say the least.
Day 22 complete! I mostly liked the moves but some of them don't do much for me. Like where am I supposed to feel the teeter totter ones? I ended up adding a squat to those.
I also did the whole workout twice through and I felt good!
I was curious about that too, I felt nothing. OTOH I did like that we finally did another work out that targeted the triceps, I hate those dips with every tiny bit of my soul so I am happy to work them out in a different way.
AW - It's my birthday today and damn it, I wanted my free drink! Ahhh!!
And I'm sure there will be a picture of me eating cake later tonight too. Ugh. But, this is the first time I can ever remember that I will be exercising on my birthday. I'm not going to lie, it really makes me feel good about the year to come. I feel like it's a fresh start to another year in my life, and I'm actually taking care of my body this time. Here's to 32 being a great year, and to taking care of ME a little better.
kida sorry the scale hasn't budged yet. I can confirm what you already know, but eating right is where you make the difference. I lost 20 pounds last year just changing my diet. I didn't work out at all. And now I'm struggling with the diet part and giving my workouts everything I've got and I gained this week.
I talked to dh earlier and he mentioned maybe I'm building muscle. I am seeing an increase in reps so hopefully that is the case. I hope you start to see the results you're looking for as well.
I am going to have to double up either Wed. or Fri. since I already know I won't have time to work out on Thurs - DH will be traveling for work. Hmmm... decisions, decisions! I think I will do it Wed. just so I have less time to dread it :/
I cannot believe we are almost 1/3 of the way through - this thread is really, really helping me to stay accountable!
Happy birthday junch817! Is a free Starbucks drink a thing for your birthday? If it is I have been missing out!
Yep! Or free food. I think you need a rewards card; maybe - they have to have your birthday in the system somewhere. I don't know if they send an email or not (I use a junk mail account I don't check), but I opened my app and it was there 🙂
It was! And because I've been decreasing my sugar, it's way too sweet so I am saving it and keeping it in the freezer for another morning or two. I only drank about 1/3 of it.

Day 23 done! I took a risk and did the workout while both the toddler and baby were awake. They were both kind and waited until after I was done before simultaneously having meltdowns.
Day 23 done!! I felt like my mindset was off today but once I got going I think I pushed myself a little harder than usual.
H told me he thinks my back looks different even without comparing pics. He can just see that it's changed. So that's kind of cool. My boobs don't stick out the side of my bra anymore and my straps feel a little loose too. That little shifting of my bra is kind of a reminder to keep up even though I've really been having lots of cravings for things I used to eat all the time this week. I found it easy to stop those habits a few weeks ago when we started and I feel like now is when it's really starting to hit.
tiffbot my cravings are at an all time high also. I'm cd1 today and it's taking all my willpower to not consume all the carbs lol
My CD1 was last week, I can't even blame it on that augh!! Lol. I can probably put it at impending O date because my cycles are generally on the shorter side so it should be coming up right away.
tiffbot my cravings have been crazy too. Last week I was on my period so I think I indulged a little and it's making this week harder again. Week 1 was hard. Week 2 was my best. Week 3 was my period which sucked, and is sticking around to impact week 4 LOL. So maybe next week I'll have a good week; like every 4th week haha!
I haven't gotten the work out in yet today but I plan to. I opted for extra sleep this morning and then I had to take the 3yo to preschool. I did do a 2 mile walk with the baby while we were waiting though.
My legs are absolutely killing me today. Like after my walk by the time I got the kid from school and got home I am just barely moving slowly around the house at this point. So I will rest for a bit and have some coffee but I WILL get it done today!
I did the third fit test in 5.0 this morning. Most of my scores went up, I had one that stayed the same, and a couple that were slightly lower. Overall, happy to see some improvement.

I've been MIA because life. But I'm all caught up to day 23. I worked out later in the day today and yesterday which I hate doing. I need to get back on track with doing it in the morning. Hopefully tomorrow.

kida, I know I'm a million years late but I've had a lot of success with WW. I actually lost close to 50 lbs the first time I did it and even became a lifetime member.
For me, it was helpful to go to in person meetings with a friend if that's an option. They've changed their program a lot over the years though and I wasn't as big of a fan the last time I did it although I know a lot of other people still like it.
I really feel like I need to kick it up a notch the rest of the week. AF just arrived, I am feeling super sluggish, I want to eat all things. I don't want to derail but I am soooo unmotivated, this feeling will go away after a couple of days right?
@meggriffin , I am in the same boat. I am getting ready to do my workout now.
I can't work out until the kid goes to bed- well I can do it while he is awake but he doesnt feel well and he is sooo clingy. I really want my own space tonight so I can try to forget about how crappy I feel and just give it my all, but that also means putting it off for another hour.
I hope you feel good about your workout when your done!
@meggriffin , I just finished and I am tired. DH took the kids to gymnastics tonight so I was able to do it earlier than normal. I hate cardio the struggle is real. I hope your workout makes you feel better.
