At the tail end of the nst, she started to move but they're still going to do the bpp when ultrasound is available --there's a couple ladies ahead of me. Contractions are still constant and getting a little stronger so the nurse thinks I'll be staying. Still at 3cm. H is trying to get ahold of his mom to watch the girls, so I'm by myself for the time being.

My mom and dad were here for dinner and my mom can be so exhausting. She arrives and literally the first thing out of her mouth is "hi, big belly!". I told her I'm not a belly, I'm a person. I have a name. That you gave me.
Then I made the mistake of commenting that I don't love the finish on baby's crib (it was a hand me down from SIL, a family heirloom but they fixed it up and refinished it. I don't love the style but hello free crib and they did all the work and it's a beautiful, solid old piece of furniture). So my mom immediately wants to buy me a new crib. Ugh.
I think she gets so anxious over the new baby and she wants to fix everything she thinks I'm not doing right but a lot of the time it's something that's just not a priority for us.
TL;DR I love my mom and I'm happy to have her but she exhausts me
This was a rough day for my toddler. So many tantrums and this is SO out of character. I honesty hope he's sick, because this can't continue!!!
BP was elevated at my appointment today and baby took an hour and multiple buzzes to pass the NST... In good news, I'm dilated 3 cm which means no foley catheter (I think that's what it's called) at my induction next Monday. They are just going to break my water and use pitocin. I'm hoping this means I'll have an easier time than last time, when they used misoprostol (sp?) overnight and I started 0 cm dilated.
EmMilAlly I started my induction at 3cm. They didn't break my water first, but it was a good experience and my body responded really well to the pitocin. I hope your experience is as good.
Whine time-why instead of joining all the ladies with contractions am I getting shooting groin pains that strike every few steps, preventing me from walking like a normal human?? 🙄
Right there with you girl. Other than BH and some period like cramping, no contractions up in here. Just stabbing crotch pain. Feels like baby is trying to get out with a shank. In public when I'm trying really hard to walk normally I feel like my face still gives me away.
Stabbing cervical pain probably means you are effacing, which is more productive than pointless BH. I'm actually waiting for the stabbing crotch pain to tell me I'm in real labor and not this false crap.

I'm in the opposite camp, y'all. At 6'1" with my winter coat on, people can't tell I'm pregnant. I literally had someone look at me surprised tonight when I mentioned the baby.
I am very firmly, my body, my birth, my decisions. With DS1 we told no one I was in labor, just called the next day to announce his birth. This time around the person who is taking DS1 will know (obviously) and I agreed to let MIL know so she could be praying. She understands she won't get updates and isn't to spread word to the whole family. All our family is a plane trip away so no one will try and show up... but I do not need 15 people blowing up our phones!
H and I have also agreed that we will be making fewer personal phone calls in the first 24 hours after this one's birth, instead letting the family news tree do it's work, and posting on Fb. I made the mistake of calling *everyone* after DS1 was born, and not taking a nap, then I was exhausted at bed time when he was 24 hours old... and he decided to wake up, and it was horrible.

This is really reassuring! I had a rough time last time going from 0.

Interesting. I've been having stabbing crotch pain when standing or walking for about a week. I thought maybe it was baby kicking me in some sensitive place. I hope it's not for nothing, because it's freaking uncomfortable. I usually double over and/or swear, but then it goes away after a second. I'm going to ask the OB at my next appointment.
This day can end now. I just finally cuddled up into bed and was relaxing at long last when a violent sneeze caused me to pee all over my favorite, freshly laundered, pj pants. Thank goodness I've honed my peeing reflexes enough to keep any from getting on the sheets.
