I have to finish my taxes. I have 2 1098 forms and only entered one. I couldn't figure out how to go back and add the 2nd one yesterday. Story time, maybe stop by the consignment shop to talk to my friend, finish a blog post, and other stuff.
I'm running on very little sleep. DD2 woke up puking at 11pm. She proceeded to throw up every 20 minutes for a couple of hours. She was able to fall asleep, but woke up a little while later with it coming out both ends. Poor kid. My stomach feels off, but it might be lack of sleep + extreme paranoia.
Oh no, jwinct. I had that bug a few weeks ago. I hope she feels better soon, and that you don't get it.
G woke up again right before I left for work. I am thrilled that he is sleeping all night, but sad that I don't get any snuggle time before work. He is not going to be happy tomorrow when I wake him up to feed him before I bring him to daycare. I did get some snuggle time with N this morning before MH and G woke up, so that was nice. It's rainy here today, which is not helping with me feeling tired.
MH is taking my car to get the emissions done. The check engine light has been on for a while, and we had a friend run the computer to check for the codes. I know it's going to fail emissions, but that will start the clock on time to get it fixed. MH is going to call the mechanic to see if the fix is something he can do, or if we have to bring it to the dealership. Regardless of who fixes it, we're going to wait until our tax refund comes in, which should be tomorrow.
Just me and the little this morning. She woke up at 830. Now we're just hanging out. It's supposed to be freezing rain later, so I dont think we'll be getting up to much today.
jwinct ugh. The worst. I too have extreme paranoia about the stomach flu. I would rather be in pain, have the worse cold ever, or anything else basically.
+1 to crappy sleep. After a few solid nights of DS2 sleeping 8-9 hours straight, he decided to wake at 1:30 this morning and would not settle. I guess I'm taking that with a grain of salt somewhat because MH was in there with him and has about as much patience as a flea. How do you say nicely to YH, "You're doing it wrong and that's why he won't sleep/eat/stop crying for you"? I finally went in a little before 3 and he went right to sleep for me. Putting him in the crib was another story, but he fussed slightly and then went to sleep. DS1 was up at 6:15 with another high fever. Exactly a week to the day that his abx were finished. So that's interesting. He won't eat, but drank some Powerade. We'll see. I'm so tired of wallowing in illness over here. I desperately need a break.
Therefore, we have nothing going on today. Thankfully, H is postcall so he's home and able to help. *sigh*
DH and I spent time last night trying to fit three car seats in the back of his Accord. We found something that works in emergencies but isn't ideal as it requires installing the infant carrier without the base. While safe, it's a PITA. His car is 14 years old so it'll likely be replaced soon. I don't want to choose a car based on the ability to fit three across, but the Accord is ridiculous and car seat installation is worth consideration.
I'm driving myself crazy trying to get a .txt file with 1000000+ data fields to import into excel. I've tried every macro that google has brought up in my search, and it keeps hanging up on me. Grrr. It's snowy and gross here today. As much as I love the Pats, you wouldn't catch me standing outside in this weather for the parade. I'll watch it from the comfort of my desk online where I will be nice and warm. I think I am getting a cold too which sucks. Past two mornings, I have woken up with that pre-cold morning sore throat. Today it isn't subsiding like it normally does. Pounding all of the emergen-c in hopes I can fight it off before it completely consumes me!

jwinct So sorry DD is sick and the crap sleep. Hope she's feeling better!
We're hibernating today. -26 (-15F) out and after two days of snowing the roads are a mess. DD is supposed to have swimming but not worth going out in this for a 30 minute class.
I left DD at daycare in underwear and with several changes of clothes. Eek. She does well going potty on the weekend for us without us trying too hard (have her sit on the potty every 1.5-2 hrs). Last night I took the plunge and put her in underwear to see how she did. Of course she did great and woke up asking to wear "undies". So, here we are. With DS1, once we introduced underwear there was no turning back. Oh dear.
britta - Oh man, not another fever! I hope it passes quickly and is a flukey virus.
adouces06 - I hope you feel better! I started getting a cold last week while I was at work and I stopped on my way home and got some Zicam and took it religiously for two days. My cold didn't get very bad and went away after just a few days. I have no idea if it was the Zicam or not, but I was shocked that it didn't turn into the crazy awful cold that everyone at work around me had.
Taxes are done. I tried out the PLUS on Turbo Tax and am getting charged $30 for it. I either will pay that and have everything transfer automatically every year or clear the whole things and start over. Decisions...

jwinct So sorry DD2 is sick, I hate it when anyone gets a stomach bug, but both ends is just extra misery. FX'd it doesn't get passed around - lysol everything!
britta There with you on good sleep for a few nights and then endless wakeups last night. Our talking burrito was chatty up to over an hour on the baby monitor each time.
Took a day off to finish some of my unpaid maternity leave (my boss asked me to so they can use my salary as savings elsewhere) - gonna run out to a couple stores and maybe go to the park this afternoon if the weather continues to improve - I have all the windows open, so nice and mild out. A floor guy from Costco is coming over this afternoon to have me sign a contract for our new wood floors. Good bye shattered marble uglyness!
Hi from the pumping room. We have meetings all day so my day started later with a shorter commute. I can go nurse O at lunch if she's not eating because we get a 1.5 hour lunch.
My in-laws are here helping while DH is out of town. I love them dearly and they are helping a ton, but every night at 7pm my MIL takes her wine to the basement and watches her PBS shows. That is the start of bedtime when I really need the help. Both nights both my kids have been screaming, FIL is trying to help with no luck, and she's down there chilling with her feet up. I think part of the reason it bothers me is it's so different from how my Mom was, and I miss her. I'm trying to just be grateful they came to help, because it was super nice of them.

jwinct oh yuck...poor kiddo. Stomach bugs are truly the worst. I ALWAYS struggle with whether or not I am actually getting it to, or if the whole thing just makes me queasy.
erien22846 we had to figure out how to accommodate 3 car seats too. I had a vehicle that was capable of it (not 3 across, I am utilizing my third row) but I hate it for DS1 since he has to climb back there and I think he's pretty cramped. DH got a Suburban like two weeks before DD came along and that thing is gigantic but amazing for car seats.

Well, I'm on my couch right now...working from home today until my interview that's at 3. I'm glad to have this down time before I go. I'm super nervous.

DH got a Suburban like two weeks before DD came along and that thing is gigantic but amazing for car seats.
I drive a minivan but have them three across in the second row because I want to keep the back available for cargo. The seats fit fine but it's still a hassle getting the middle child in. DH's commute is 50 miles one way so he wants a car, not a 3rd row SUV or minivan. Because it really is only a commuter car and not used to routinely shuttle the family around, we need to decide what the priority is. A mid-size sedan like an Accord or Camry or sacrifice gas mileage with something like the Avalon that offers more room for carseats (and a very nice ride). Looking ahead a few years, I can't imagine DS being able to buckle himself into a booster seat with how close the seats are together. But, again, maybe we just deal with the occasional inconvenience.
And the wrench in all these plans: Are we done having kids?? For now all I can do is assume yes and plan accordingly.
What happened to the days of kids riding on the backseat floor? Anyone else do that?
I'm just struggling with parenting these days. It's hard to work back and forth wth the daycare based on the little info you get and no idea what's going on. They say he's easy, then fussy. He's happy, then seems sick.. idk. And then what I get when he's with me after daycare doesn't match what they're saying. But I trust these people. Idk what to do.
I had a bad day yesterday. I snapped at both kids and then felt so guilty. I was so touched out that I literally screamed for everyone to shut up and stop needing me. Today is a new day. DD was TKO'd on me, put her in her crib and after 15 minutes of me putting her soother back in and shooshing her she's asleep in there. I want to get out of the house but the threat of freezing rain is keeping me indoors. It would suck to be caught in that since I dont drive and would have to walk to the bus stop.
Since DS is at daycare tomorrow (a makeup day since he had an appointment last thursday), I've registered for DD and I to go put her footprints on a plate or something at the local crock-a-doodle. It should be about 20 bucks/piece but they would make sweet presents for the grandmas, or for me.
Anyone else still giving probiotics? I gave them to DD when she was a newborn but didn't refill when I ran out. She had slept awful for 3 weeks and i think she is finally out of the 4 month regression BUT she literally started sleeping well again on the day I bought more probiotics and gave them to her. It could be a total coincidence but maybe something to try for those of you dealing with gassy babes.
