Probiotics--I only started to give those when DS2 was on antibiotics. Since he hasn't pooped in a few days, I gave him some last night and he slept MUCH Better than he has for awhile. Definitely going to use them again tonight (the former Biogaia/current Gerber Soothe drops)
I would take both if I was already going just to check ears and lungs. Can your H check for an EI? They sell those things online. I never could tell though. I tried.
He can, yes. But we sold his otoscope after PA school. 😩 Now I'm kicking myself. Maybe I should have made an appt for DS1 too. I guess I'm just thinking that, without preceeding symptoms, his could very well be viral. Idk. KIDS. Dammit.
I bought a cheap "dr. Mom" one one amazon or Walmart.
LOL. Never mind. Disregard my last post. I made an executive decision and am taking DS2 today. I'll wait on DS1 and see what happens.
If you are only paying a copay, I'd bring both in but you are also a medical professional. I'm clueless and hate taking time off work for appointments. Hopefully DS1 is fine and this is the last sick visit for awhile!
I think I'd still have to pay a co-pay for both because they'd still schedule "separate" appts for them, I believe. At least for now I'm not working, so it's just a lot of running around if I have to take DS1 later this week, not missed work.
I give DD probiotics every day. I felt like it would probably help her not get sick as often too being in daycare (that could be completely irrational, but I'm telling myself it anyway).
What kind do you give her? I was taking them but not sure if they pass to bm.
Also re: daycare pottyibg. We had that issue and I finally talked to the director. They have to write down the time, whether he tried potty, was wet or dry, and accidents. And the times. That way if he has an accident but wasn't taken to the potty for 2 hours- their fault not his- I can address it. You should be getting that info ksyknelvr73
ETA: to clarify- the director didn't know the teacher was not writing down that info as it's required. Maybe even required by the state.
We get a sheet with 6 options for each "diaper" change. 1 2 W BM T D. Numbers are for the potty, W/BM are for the diaper, and "tried" "dry".
In the last couple weeks, DDs first W/BM is often at 1230. That's why we ventured into underwear today. Although she stays dry at school between changes, she won't potty for them. We're hoping underwear is what she needs to get over the hump.

britta, when I brought G in last Tuesday, N came with us out of necessity but wasn't checked out. We ended up making him a separate appointment (which led to a second copay) for Thursday after G's follow-up. We thought we were going to have to bring N again because he was complaining about his ear hurting, but he woke up fine. MH mentioned it to the pedi yesterday when he brought G in, and she said that we could wait a few days with N because he's older. She did thank us last week for calling and making a separate appointment for N instead of just bringing him in without any warning.
becole we use the Mommy's Bliss brand only because that's the only ones they sell at Buy Buy Baby. I've heard the Gerber ones are highly recommended though.
iwantbacon I'm glad it worked for you as well! I had hoped I wasn't reading too much into it.
So. DS2's ear canals are so small, they can't see his eardrum. Two doctors checked. I knew this would happen, they've been commenting on how small they are since he was a newborn. Doc feels his course certainly sounds like and ear infection, but with DS1 also having a fever starting the same day, it's really hard to say. She wrote him for some abx but wants me to wait until tomorrow to start them, if he's not getting better.
DS1's fever isn't breaking with Tylenol/Motrin. He looks pretty pathetic. DH thinks he may have strep because he has some swollen cervical lymph nodes. We'll see. He's not giving us any consistent answers as to what, if anything, is hurting him.
DS2 apparently drank four 5 oz bottles, plus another 3-4 oz. WTF, kid? Of course today was a crappy pumping day for me so I don't have nearly enough for tomorrow (save for some freezer stash). I think formula is in our near future.

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone - I am home now from the interview. I think that it went very well, but I won't know until probably early next week.

Both my boys have strep britta and it has presented differently in each of them. DS1 had the fever, general pathetic-looking, he said his "brain hurt" and his throat hurt. DS2 however had a gross cough and green mucus (very snotty nose). I never freaking know with them.
yeah when fever is the first sign, as long as they're drinking and peeing and playing and breathing you can go a couple days. If he had been sick with stuff for a few days then spiked a temp I'd say go.

Congrats on the interview!
Yeah. He woke up complaining that his "forehead" hurt-that's about the only constant. He's also said his legs, heels, stomach, and apparently he told H his throat hurt once. 🤷🏼♀️

That's why I took DS2 in-cold symptoms for a week, then fever. But DS1's fever just came on out of nowhere. I've let it go 3-5 days in the past, depending on his age and how sick he looked.
Well, I'm on my couch right now...working from home today until my interview that's at 3. I'm glad to have this down time before I go. I'm super nervous.

Well nap time ended really poorly here. I'm guessing DS had a gas bubble, he screamed for a good 30 minutes. DD woke up with a low grade fever and says her head hurts and she "can't walk". Nooooooo.
I've got cabin fever so bad. Come on warm weather!
I"m super nervous that I'll order a dress or two and they won't fit or I wont' like them or they won't arrive in time and then I'll be stuck. Tell me it will work out?
It will work!! I have had a lot of success with RTR

It will work!! Look at the pics in the reviews. So much more realistic than what it looks like on the model.
