WTF baby. Please stop spiting up EVERY drop of milk you pull from my boobs.
There are 6 or 7 kids at DD1's day care. I didn't send Valentine's. My H does drop off and pick up. Last night he was like "so L get Valentine's from Johnny, Sally, Michael AND Lizzie." Oh? I felt like he was insinuating that I should've done something. Tough titty. Whatever.
Date night with H was fun. Food was good. I had champagne, so basically a perfect night. Service was a little slow though, so we got our dessert to go, and brought some home for MIL to thank her for watching the girls.

So N got her tongue tie clipped last night and she is SO CRANKY. Lordy. She just screams at my boob for five minutes before finally figuring it out.
She gave me two 2.5 hour stretches so far, mama needs one more so I can solo parent later.
DH picked up Pinkberry, which I wound up eating with a sleeping baby on my chest. He also got me some fun chocolate from World Market. I couldn't think of anything to get him
judyblume14 we didn't send in valentines either. My H gave me shit about it all day lol. But come on, his class is under 2 and I have a 2 week old. I was so pissed over Christmas when he kept coming home with little gifts from his friends. Thankfully he came home with only 2 valentines.
L is soooooooooo congested. I feel terrible. We got 1 3 hour stretch last night, but it was otherwise a crapshoot. He's just so clearly uncomfortable. I can't suction anything out, but have been doing all the saline. Sigh. We did end up taking him in yesterday to make sure his lungs and ears were clear, and they were. And he's up to 9 lb 7 oz! So that's 1 lb 4 oz up from birth weight at 2.5 weeks old. Not too shabby. His appetite is pretty well down so I'm nervous about that, but his gain so far makes me feel a bit better.
The other shoe has dropped, as I knew it would since my physical and mental recovery has been a piece of cake this time. On the tail of ds' week long fever, dd caught a cold. It became apparent yesterday that ds now has the cold as well. Both kids are pathetic and miserable. Ds has been waking up at night which is unusual for him but has been happening frequently since the baby came. Sighs. Mh and I are exhausted.
On the plus side my bff held dd upright for six hours last night so I could sleep. Then I held her another three. Dd slept the entire time (except for a couple feedings and changings) and it helped her congestion. Hopefully all the sleep will help her kick this cold. My bff is leaving today. I foresee a lot of Thomas or iPad time this afternoon for the toddler and I'm trying real hard not to feel guilty about that.
Omg twins rinny! I feel so bad that there's nothing I can do for the baby. I can barely get any snot out either and will be cranking the humidifier tonight. Luckily her lungs were clear on Monday too. Hopefully this cold will pass quickly for them.
So besides STTN there is something else exciting happening- I might be doing maternity photos for the wife of a celebrity..not saying names or anything, it's someone who grew up local to us but has since moved to get famous. Anyways wife contacted me yesterday they will be in town to visit family end of the month and want to book a session! Ahhhh!

Last night, I tried to wear leggings and a tight shirt to dinner. El Oh El. Then I looked in the mirror and was reminded that I just had a baby. Also, even in my best shape, I would have never consider wearing all tight clothes. But H did say how much he liked my leggies! And I said, you should, they were $25! And he said that i could buy as many as I want because they look nice on me.
I have three pairs, and that's probably enough. But I'm happy that he supports my new obsession.
Sorry for the sick babies rinny and lakegirl. That sounds miserable. I'm so thankful that DS2 had not caught any of our colds that have been in the house for the last month.
Somewhat related. DS1 had been a snot monster and a little off for 4 weeks solid and in a parenting fail we missed he had an ear infection - that is until the pus was running out of his ear after his ear drum perforated at the weekend. He mentioned a sore ear twice over a week ago but the second time said he was just saying it to get some medicine because he likes it. I feel so bad for him.
LO has only one wake up again last night at 2am, then back awake at 6.15 now. I actually went back to bed fter the first wake up instead of staying on the nursery sofa and ending up with him on my chest so even better. Hoping this is our new normal after 2 consistent nights.
DH cane home in a bad mood last night after a crap day at work. His new boss is awful Hoping his today is better today be a use its not fun when he's so down.

ashtog, I am so jealous but also very happy that you got a full nights sleep! You deserve it after all you've been through lately.
Dh and I stayed up too late. B woke up every 2 hours. DS1 woke up shortly after I put B back in the PNP around 6. Not much sleep was had. Chores will be put on hold because as soon as B falls asleep, I am taking a nap.
judyblume14, with only 6 or 7 kids, it's small enough that I'm sure all the parents understand you have a newborn. Nbd. I'm glad you had a good time out with YH last night.
silvermelody, what is Pinkberry? Sorry N is cranky, hopefully it resolves soon.
So, Katie nearly slept through the night last night but I got her up around 5 (after falling asleep around 11) because I knew she'd need a diaper change and feed. I thought it'd be a quick wake up since she was sleeping so well. She didn't end up going back to sleep for 3 hours, then we slept from 8-10ish before getting up for the day. Was that a rookie mistake or the right thing to do for a 2.5 week old? I'd much prefer to be able to start our mornings at 8am, but I was just not ready.
Sooo, help me! Did someone here post recently that they accidentally let a disposable diaper make its way into the laundry?
Welp, I did that. And there are beady thingies all up in my washing machine. And all over the clothes, and I'm assuming they'll be all over the dryer.
WHAT DO I DO? How do I get the beady thingies out of the washer and dryer? How do I get them off the clothes?
Update. It was actually two diapers. I found that out when I was unloading the dryer.
So, all of the (apparently) gel beads got squishy/melty in the dryer, but it appears they all got pulled off the clothes during the drying cycle.
The beady stuff clumped together in the dryer in a few big chunks which were relatively east to scoop out. There were also some chunks in the lint trap and the area around the lint trap. Whatever. I'm going to run an empty wash cycle to hopefully make them disappear from the washing machine, and I'm not going to do anything extra to the dryer, just continue to look for chunks on the melty beads after each of the next few cycles.

pibblemom, The pedi told me that I could let B sleep at night since he's gaining weight and up 2 lbs from his birth weight. He's a month old though. Maybe call and ask your dr?

Good idea. She's gaining, but not as quickly as id like. Yesterday she was 2weeks plus 3 days and was 2 oz shy of birthweight. My MW say they like to see BW by 2 weeks, but aren't concerned since she is gaining and isn't that far off. I think her BW was inflated because of c-section. I may just call the pedi just to see what he says.

judyblume14pibblemom PinkBerry is fancy-ass fro yo, yes. It's more of a Japanese tart style than the almost-ice cream style that is popular here. We had Pomegranate flavor. Also most of the toppings are all natural: fresh fruit, nuts, chocolate and yogurt chips. It started in Los Angeles I think.
Speaking of leggings, I took a trip to the mall today with B and picked up some new lululemon leggings. They hug in all the right places for me right now. I also got a new shirt that's very flattering. I plan on wearing it when I bring B into visit work in a few weeks.
B slept through the whole trip and I got home with time to spare to pump and give him a bottle when he woke. Between collecting leaking milk with my milk saver and pumping occasionally, I already have 4 bottles stashed away. I'm super excited because it took me forever to get to that point before I went back to work with DD.
