notagoddess, I believe it's common at least for a while, but if you can try to do some kegels maybe that would help. And keep in mind that your body *did* just go through a major thing. I wouldn't worry about long term incontinence just yet. See how things are in a few weeks.
I can't do Kegels yet because I had an episiotomy and it hurts, but also, I don't have the sense of knowing how to do them anymore. It's all somewhere between numb and sore. I hope it improves soon
I just sent my h to the grocery store with an advanced level list. I'll fall over if he gets it all right and is home before noon. He's already called me twice to ask questions, so he's trying!!!
My H will end up spending like $100 more on useless stuff I send him. It enrages me.
Did anyone here experience major loss of bladder control postpartum? I full on peed myself twice already, and I'm leaking pee onto my pads all the time. I don't feel like I have any control over the stream of urine when I pee. I also don't feel a sense of having to go -- I only go to avoid accidents. My OB and nurses said it is fairly common and usually gets better on its own, but my OB also said he does 1-2 incontinence surgeries a week. I'm extremely upset about this and the idea of having to wear Depends is killing me. I was thinking I'd get my body back after pregnancy but instead it feels wrecked.
Luckily I do not have this, however, it is very common. In a week or two I am starting to rehab my diastasis and the program I am using also aims to help women with pelvic weakness...which can lead to incontinence (bowel and bladder). I would try exercises, kegels, and what not. Also touch base with your doctor at your follow up. I would not want this to become a lingering issue.
Can you remind me of the name of your workout program please?

Took N to the pediatrician this morning to have him checked out because of his spitting up and fussiness and we are going to try Zantac for him. DS1 was on it and it worked wonders.
allisong87 somehow my h manges to spend way more than me with nothing to show for it. Dude, if you're going to be 30% over budget at least bring home alcohol or some steaks!
We're also headed to the ped this afternoon to see what's up with the night time fussing. He just seems like he's in so much pain
notagoddess I peed on myself regularly for like the first week last time. i had to train myself to go every hour even if I wasn't feeling the urge, so that way there were no accidents until the sensation and whatnot returned to normal. Hang in there! Your body just went through some shit.
Counting the hours with my solo day with Z. The last two nights she hasn't started her long stretch of sleep (4-5 hours) until 4 or 5am, which is rough. Here's hoping tonight it better. I was up with her screaming from 2-4 this morning.
I think she's constipated. We haven't had any real poos since early yesterday morning. She normally gives us several full poop diapers a day but since then we've only had small hints of it. I'm guessing that's adding to her discomfort, but I don't know what to do for her. I'm not sure if I should call the doctor or what. She's always seemed to really struggle getting gas out, squirming, grunting, crying as she works them out. I'm not sure if a probiotic will help or what.
Try doing some lil leg bicycles or some tummy massages to help pass the gas/constipation.

It's called the MuTu program. My mom actually got it for me for Christmas. I've only read the nutrition part, and watched like the philosophy behind it videos. But maybe it is worth looking into. It also seems like you just need to give yourself more time to heal! Especially is you're still numb and having pain. I only had a first degree tear but I still feel slightly sore from time to time- I can't imagine an episiotomy.

I'm nursing the baby in the car while DH is trying to get lowes to bring our freezer out. I guess this means I should start pumping on a schedule to build up my freezer stash. Some lovely gentlemen just got an eye full. allisong87, I hope the Zantac does the trick. DS1 needed it for a few months. Which reminds me, it seems DS2 has found his witching hour in the evening. Totally forgot how fun that is.

Morning ladies.
Yesterday was a LONG day. My dad, stepmother, and grandmother came to meet E. Then DH's aunt and uncle showed up to visit and drop off food. So E got passed around between 5 people.
Then the LC showed up. That went ok. She said my latch was actually pretty good and no lip or tongue ties. But E has a bit of an arch to her palate which could be causing me pain. E also tends to gum a lot which hurts me too. Priority #1 is getting my nipples to heal.
She also suggested a nipple shield. And I had zero pain when using one. The problem is that immediately after the LC left, E screamed bloody murder for 4 hours straight. Was completely inconsolable.
Then later on at night I tried to use the shield again and afterwards she screamed for another 2 hours straight.
I think the shield gives her horrible gas. I also think she was overstimulated yesterday. Big time.
Saw the pedi today for a weight check. She was 7.13 on Thursday and was 8.0 today. So we're within 3oz of birth weight.
If the shield makes her uncomfortable I'll take the pain. It's not worth hours of straight screaming. :/

@jacks605 musicallyinclined @wineandcupcakes thanks for all the recommendations. I'll definitely give them a try when she wakes up. She's been a bit of a lazy bones so far today, which means we're probably going to be in for another long night.

My crazy grandma just called to check in on me again. 😑 I am not amused. It was cute the first time, but really, I do not want a phone call every other day making sure I'm still pregnant. I haven't even hit my due date yet. For Pete's sake!!!

notagoddess I had incontinence issues with all of my pregnancies. With DD1 it only lasted a few days, then a bit longer with DD2 and I full on peed myself a few times. So far I've peed myself once and had smaller leaks. I'm also signing up for a PP yoga class I found that is run by a physiotherapist. Incontinence is one of the issues listed that it's said to help. But if it makes you feel better it went away on its own the last 2 times once my muscles started to tighten up again. I wore a light liner though for like 2 months PP as a just in case.
DH just took DD1 shopping to get out of the house for a bit. Poor kid is going stir crazy with all the napping going on during the day and keeping up with DS's nursing schedule. I was expecting her to take it easier than DD2 who seems totally unfazed at this point. I also asked MIL if she wanted to take her for a day out this week. She needs some extra one on one time that I just can't give her right now, poor sweetheart.

I just noticed that there are two big bruises, one on each cheek of my butt. Wth? I had been feeling a little sore but didn't know I was bruised. Is this a thing? Did it happen while pushing or have I just been sitting too long?
shawnabm1320 is it an option to ignore her call every once in a while? Crazy relatives are the pits.
Yes, I'll be ignoring her next call. Of course she'll probably assume I'm in labor then, and call my mom and tell her to drive to the hospital. But at least I won't be there? Lol
And maybe I can get my mom to run interference for me. I am more of a private person, I'd rather finish gestating without people calling me to see if I've delivered yet.
Just the normal routine here. Pump, wash parts, scarf down breakfast, shower, drop off J, go to NICU, pick up J from school, rush home for dinner. Wash, rinse, repeat.
At least today we're also running some errands and buying J some new sneakers after school. She had a major foot growth spurt! And she loves shopping. Target is her jam LOL
Something to save you some time at home in your pumping routine. After pumping out all pump parts in a wet bag/plastic bag and put into the fridge. Do this all day and wash once at the end of the day.
With C still in the NICU run this by one of the nurses but that was what I was told to do for pumping at work.
That's actually what I do! I have two sets of parts though - one for home and I end up with another for the NICU. I wash the NICU ones at night then wash the home ones in the morning. I like to start with clean ones for the NICU each day.

I feel your pain. Literally. My mom has been calling me nearly EVERY.FREAKING.DAY for 2 weeks now asking me how I am feeling, if there are contractions, etc. She did leave me alone on Saturday and dad's response to her was "good, leave her alone!" Dad needs to run more interference with her (a lot easier said than done with her.
We just had newborn pictures taken and now I'm so excited for our birth announcements! So freaking cute! We got an awesome family picture too We dressed little L in her first outfit today and she was so confused. It was hysterical! I can't wait for her going home outfit tomorrow lol!
Noooooooo. We just left the pedi and after listening to the grunting sounds Louis was making, she wants me to cut out dairy. I don't know if I can do this if I end up having to cut out even trace dairy She also called in an RX for Zantac so how am I supposed to know which is working? FX something works and he starts to feel better.
