It's amazing how much I can get done if she sleeps at night and takes good naps! I reorganized her clothes, took a shower, had two hot meals, started laundry and made lactation cookies.
Now she probably won't nap the rest of the day (it's 3pm) so we'll see how screwed I am when DH leaves for work.
Wow! Can you come to my house next? lol I'm over here thinking about doing laundry....just thinking about it though.
ellabee, I say quick nap if possible. Not a long one but maybe an hour or 90 mins and then a bath and bed time? I did that yesterday around this time and it seemed to work ok for C.
Lol pibblemom. I was thinking a short 15 minute nap. B only does like 1 nap longer than 90 minutes per day. The rest are 45 mins to an hr. I wish he was one of those babies who slept more!

I'm just impressed you've got some type of nap schedule/routine figured out. All I've got is that she goes "down" (usually into her carseat because we're headed out) for her first nap sometime around 8:30am. And goes down for her first long stretch of bedtime sleep around 7:30pm. The other 11 hours, I'm just winging...aka, just trying to figure out this two kid thing.

silvermelody, wow! Great day! What cookie recipe did you use?
I totally forgot my app says she's in leap 1. That's probably it. Ugh. That means she'll be a nursing cranky baby next week for a growth spurt possibly.

weeklyplanner I forgot how much more laundry babies create. Well, and N is a spitter, which DS never was. I had to buy more burp cloths because I was doing baby laundry every other day.
Also DH does his own laundry (and sometimes the kids) so that helps a lot
It makes a lot! You could easily make a half batch and have about 30. I do butterscotch chips instead of chocolate but the chocolate is good too
My thoughts "Should I open this recipe? Hmmm, I bet lactation cookies are a lot of WW points. Ahh, but chocolate and butterscotch chips sound amazing." Damn you WW, you've made me think of everything in "points." 🙄

Oh my. Doesn't give mama much time to get things done does he? How is bedtime going?
We had a major gas meltdown over here for the last 2 hours. Hoping I got it all out for her since she's quietly nursing now instead of screaming at my boob. Anyone have a windi? I'm hesitant to get one but the reviews are so good.
pibblemom, I think it was vlagroupie who tried the winding. My pedi suggested it for H but I couldn't bring myself to try them!
pibblemom Ive used the Windi. They def let the gas out and more, so it has helped. It's pricey though but I would still rec if you feel at wits end with a gassy baby.
I'm finally able to check in here. I did a half day back at work while mil watched baby. It felt good to be out and doing something different for a change. But it also reminded me of how much pumping is going to suck with my work schedule and all the logistics of getting stuff ready. But it was a good trial run. Baby had her 2 mo appt on Tuesday, her height and weight check out great, but she has thrush I'm hoping it clears up quickly bc I think she's been a little uncomfortable nursing. Thankfully I don't have an symptoms but I'm on medication and applying motherlove balm all the time.

This is what I get for having everything ready to go a day early: a baby that won't sleep the night before we travel. Oh and our flight is at 6 am. Ughhhh I am so frustrated! Go to sleep baby!
Honestly it's not any different than doing a rectal thermometer. I just keep her diaper there bc it can get messy.
I have a rectal thermometer.. I didn't think about trying it because it's solid vs being a tube. If it happens again maybe I will
I should clarify, I meant using it doesn't seem any different than using a rectal thermometer. The Windi is totally different design. I guess I don't see the hesitation in using it if you've done a rectal temp. The look on my kids face when it's inserted is pretty funny tho and when the gas comes out she actually looks kinda relieved lol.

We fed E some cereal tonight. She was mostly licking the cereal off the spoon but she liked it. It took forever to feed a small amount and it got everywhere. I loved feeding her though.
Ds went down for what was supposed to be a short nap at 9. He was still asleep at 10:30 so I decided to attempt his first dream feed. He didn't wake up but he is awfully loud and unsettled now that I have laid him back in bed. I just did gas drops and am hoping he quiets down and falls back to a deep sleep. Climbing into bed, fingers crossed it worked.

Well I feel dumb 😔 all the reviews say the same thing about the look of relief after the gas comes out. Along with a cute whistle and the potential for major poopsplosion. If it's in there and it's stuck, I will not mind.

I hope everyone's babies sleep well tonight!
I made some double chocolate banana muffins tonight and they are delicious. Yum! I have eaten three already. I also cleaned the living room and sunroom/playroom today and created a weekly chore chart that hopefully I'll stick to for once.

We've been doing EASY with pretty good success. B usually ends up doing 4ish naps a day with 1.5hrs of awake time in between, then 3night stretches (2motn wake ups and the last wake up he's up for the day). I found this chart super helpful last time with DD. We got on a routine with that and EASY pretty well.
Dream feed was a fail. Up feeding now. He normally sleeps 10:30 or 11 until between 5-7. Tonight was 9-1 with a dream feed in the middle. Hoping he will go down for a good stretch and that I haven't ruined his night.
@ellabee that's what we are doing over here, did it with dd too! It was a lifesaver with her and made her the amazing sleeper she is today. I love EASY.
thelittleredm what does your chart look like? I fear I've reached to end of my I just had a baby excuse when it comes to my wreck of a house. pibblemom I hope you got some gas relief and that you both are sleeping soundly. @peaseblossom that's awesome that she liked the cereal, dd was never really a fan. It's so hard to believe she is that old! I'm so happy that she is doing so well! heybulldog56 I hope B is sleeping, and also that you don't have far to get to the airport. A 6 am flight is already early enough.
We usually are up at 3 or 4 but it's the only wakeup so I can deal. Just hoping she goes back down easily, it can be a crap shoot. Sending out sleepy dust for everyone.
