meeggaannw, sorry for the rough night. I really hope you can get a nap in.
B did a four hour stretch! At least our children will be well rested... Dh and I got about 3 hours of sleep. Baby has been fed, we are dressed, car is packed...Im chugging coffee and then getting DS up. The airport is only 15-20 minutes away so we don't really need to rush. I highly doubt there will be traffic.
Things I think about at 4 AM. I am up for promotion this year (did promotion testing in August and had a high enough score to be selected) but I have to go through Airman Leadership school before my promotion takes effect. When I would get promoted is dependent on my line number. Well my line number might come up before I can get to ALS. I can get a waiver processed but it would require me being up at work during my maternity leave even more than I already have been. Or I wait til I get back, go through ALS and get back pay when my promotion gets processed.
When did you all start doing easy? Right now C still falls asleep on the boob and wails when I put her down if she's not asleep first. Does rocking/singing to sleep count as activity?
Just had our most successful wakeup yet. C fell asleep pretty quickly and only took one side so I pumped the other and got 3-4oz. This is a huge win for me because I have yet to get more than an 1.5 oz out of a session because they are always after she's eaten. Also, she didn't wake up after I pumped that boob like I was afraid of.

We were trying to implement EASY early on, but maybe only got in the swing of things after B was at least a month old. Before that he'd just fall asleep on the boob because nursing sessions were so long that it was his only "awake" activity lol. Sometimes B will still want to fall asleep on the boob if he's had crappy naps during the day and is really wiped out at the next nursing session, but I just gently keep him propped up and eventually he comes around. (This is usually followed by a great nap.) For me, B is now awake for just about 1.5 hrs. He starts fussing a little around an hour 20 and then I start the rocking/bouncing (or putting in the swing/carseat) and he's out like a light by an hour 30. We feed as soon as he wakes up. Rinse repeat until bedtime when I let him nurse to sleep. Around 3 months I'll probably take him off the boob before sleep and rock him so he's able to go down without a nipple in his mouth.

meeggaannww, I do my chart by rooms so that it feels more doable with the two littles in the house. Monday and Thursday are for the kitchen and bathrooms, Tuesday and Friday are the living room and playroom, Wednesdays are the cat room, laundry room, and bedrooms since none of those take super long to clean, and weekends are for outdoor chores and special projects.

I don't know. Maybe I'm not organized enough? It seems hard to get DD down right at an hour and half because DS has school, speech, swim lessons, etc. I need to get him dressed, fed and at places on time. I did manage to get her to sleep and into the bassinet for a morning nap and then 15 min later she had a giant poop blowout and now I'm trying again.
I just keep reminding myself that I plan to do some sleep training between 4 and 6 mo and hopefully we can get on more of a schedule then. DS never napped well and dropped naps before two, so I'm legit scared of a repeat of that.

Also, I'm currently nursing to sleep because it's the fastest way and again...time. Maybe it's because I solo parent all week? DH has long hours and can't help at all.
Just over here praying Ferber works like a charm like it did for DS. I feel bad taking away the boob before sleep abruptly with sleep training, but I'm also in the camp that children need to learn the skills to self soothe a bit and fall asleep on their own.
Apparently I'm having lots of sleep/ mom feels this morning.
Sorry for your rough night meeggaannw. It's like they know when it will be super disruptive.
N did 5 hours, went back down, but then started her morning grunt fest at 5am. I don't know why she's doing it, but it's been every morning for like a week. She never fully wakes or cries, just grunt grunt doze grunt grunt for up to two hours. It's really hard to sleep through but I don't know if it's worth waking her.

We've just started adding in 'playtime' this week, but not really following EASY. If I know she's fed and not sleepy I'll put her on the play mat or on the couch next to me. But I'm nursing her to sleep, partly because being upright on my shoulder after eating puts her to sleep.
She usually naps around 9am, 11:30, and then takes a 2-3 hour nap in the 2-6 window. And then she's up until bedtime at 10ish. Sometimes with a 30 minute shoulder nap in there. Overnight we have one wake at 3-4, and another between 6:30 and 8 which she may or may not go back to sleep after
Yesterday at my PP appt, there was another mom there with a baby the same age as W. they both started fussing at the same time and the pregnant girls just kinda looked around. We were like, yep this is your life soon.
