And I'm officially done with work!! I was planning to try and stick it out next week but these prelabour contractions and the headaches have me exhausted completely. Im happy I get a week before DS goes on break from school so I can sleep in for a little bit. And maybe the nursery will get done now. Hahaha
Yay sleep! I was a little disappointed when they took me out of work, but now I'm so grateful, even if I've accomplished about 15% of what I intended to.
jellykat2 I'm hoping for VBAC as well this time since I was induced wih DS1 for Pre-E. They will also only do balloon induction on me if needed because I don't respond well to the gels and tabs. I'm sorry things didn't go how you were planning but fingers crossed something happens in the next week so you can attempt it. Good luck!

Thanks! And GL to you too! Hopefully they don't need to induce and you'll just go in to labor on your own!

The ladies in the office where I did my clinicals threw me a little surprise shower since today is my last day. Seriously almost cried. They're so sweet.
And they all pitched in and one of the girls made me this bracelet.

I think little dude finally dropped some. (I noticed my boobs weren't sitting on top of my bump anymore when I sat down...totally accurate measurement tool lol). This has been my best feeling day in like a week, my ribs are still sore but not the excruciating burning pain that I was experiencing.
ourcrazynavylife, that seems like a legitimate measuring tool. I'm still up high and while my EDD was 3/30-4/1 I'm thinking I'm going to end up in April.
I'm officially on maternity leave! So hopefully I can keep up here better.

I was thinking I dropped some too. I can definitely breath better when I sit, and the discomfort has shifted further south. I've been having irregular contractions for the last week - nothing too strong but they're picking them up on NST. All of this is irrationally making me hopeful that I'll be able to avoid a c section next week and just go into labor on my own. Lol. Delusional pregnancy dreams.
jellykat2 I'll be thinking of you for your csection! As long as everyone is safe and healthy, my vote is always to do whatever is necessary to make it happen. Sorry it's not what you had planned.
ourcrazynavylife I've been loving all your maternity pics on fb! I know you saw mine also, I'll try to post a few here later for everyone I'm not fb friends with if I can remember how!
Also, I'm so sorry I'm such a slacker on here. I really want to keep up with all you ladies. If anyone wants to fb friend me, im definitely down. Just shoot me a message and I'll give you my info! I promise I'm not a creep, a few of you can vouch
Prelabour contractions are getting stronger. Yesterday while grocery shopping I had a few almost knock me on my ass. Felt like the womb dweller was rock climbing down my uterus.
I have my antenatal and breastfeeding class today. I lol'd when they wanted me to book in for it as it's usually just for FTM. But there's a section for VBAC moms where I'm sure they will throw all the risks at me again. Jokes on them because I'm coming armed with statistics and studies. And they let it slip that our hospital now has the wireless monitors at my last appointment when previously I was told I'd be confined to a bed for labor because I'd be hooked up to CTG constantly.

hpnegirl That's good to know! He's still way up high and I haven't had any contractions like you describe lilmonk. I have only had mild menstrual-type cramps that only last a couple minutes.

mosdub, FWIW I never dropped with DD really. But she was 22" long and I'm only 5'4" with a short torso so there wasn't really anywhere for her to go...
If I make it to my due date I'm going to get the "labor pizza" at our local pizza place. It's not on the menu but another mom told me about it. Apparently it worked for her, ha!

I can't believe my EDD is only 8 days away!
I had 2, literally only 2, contractions before I woke up in labor. They occurred about 3 weeks prior to my EDD. So, have hope. Not everyone gets them either!

I ate a ton of spicy food the night before I went into labor with DD. I wouldn't do it again, though, because I threw up a few times when in labor and it was very painful, likely from the spice.

Tell me about this mysterious pizza...
Supposedly it's loaded with all kinds of meat, tons of garlic and onion. It's this heavy mass of a thing. The legend goes that an OB gave the kitchen their recipe for his wife, but I can't find any info about it online haha - you just have to call and mysteriously ask the kitchen to make the labor pizza.

I'm still not sure what contractions feel like - all I know is that "you'll know" when they happen.

They are different for everyone, but yes, you'll know. They were unlike anything I ever felt before.
To tell the difference between BH and contractions, down a bottle of water and put your feet up. BH will (slowly) subside whereas real contractions won't.
My BH with DS1 felt like cramps. I had one case of them this pregnancy and only a handful last time. Most women don't even feel them. My contractions started as cramps that would last for a minute or so but were more painful than general period cramps. My early labor period was just feeling crampy but no distinct cramps; just the general crampy-ness I would have when I would start my period.
Obviously, it's all anecdotal, but I'm also not the norm..it was literally like a light switch went off, and I went from cramp-like contractions to full on contractions every 2-3 minutes like that
