Right, my brother is a state trooper and tells us you wouldn't believe the mistakes he fixes for people. At least when he fixes it with them they are safe.
I heard a car seat specialist talk, and she was talking about some of the crazy stuff she's seen. A fireman tied his kids carseat into the car with ropes.
How long would you leave a sleeping baby in a car seat? We just got home from lunch and I don't want to wake her trying to move her but she's been in there for an hour and a half already
ETA- never mind, as soon as I posted she started fussing
For future reference, make sure to put something under the front of the seat so it's at the same angle as in the car.
I just woke up to pee and feed the baby... thank god this hospital still has a nursery. I was able to get a few hours of sleep.
I don't understand the whole "Baby Friendly" hospital stuff...if the parents want to keep the baby with them, great, but I know that I'd like to not start out the journey at home with my newborn more sleep deprived than need me...k thanx. Off soapbox.
All the ladies on this board make beautiful babies!!! For some reason I started in the middle of the thread and tagged the first person I saw but had to go back and delete that post (sorry!) because there are too many gorgeous babies to tag everyone! You're all making me so excited to meet my little guy!
bookish I am so there with you. Our hospital is trying to go baby friendly and thinking about actually closing the nursery. If someone wants to room in the whole time, that should absolutely be fine. If someone needs some sleep after a long/painful/exhausting deliver or surgery, there should be a nursery! As someone going into healthcare, it makes me livid (they should make "family-friendly" L&D with choice and support or all needs). Also getting off my soapbox now...
I had my 38 week apt with the OB. I had her check my cervix and have had some cramping/bloody show since this morning. This baby better stay put for another week! Otherwise, still in my study cave. All of you ladies have beautiful babies!!
Is bloody show the same as a mucus plug? Asking for a friend...
Not really. Asking because I think I had it. Bloody/mucusy stuff, right? Is it actual onset of labor, or is it just a sign that you're indeed near the end of pregnancy and labor could be days/weeks away still like the mucus plug?
For me is was blood streaked mucous. With DS I had my bloody show around 10pm and labour began around 1am.
I was woken up in the middle of the night by severe heartburn/nausea and some intense contractions and cramping. I was so glad DH was back from his trip bc I was convinced this was it! But then it went away haha. I'm still pretty crampy today and am excited to see what the dr says/if the membrane sweep works! I'm still not 100% mentally prepared but I guess at 38+ weeks it's time I get over that!
's a pic with the novelty maternity shirt I got for my last pregnancy when I thought it would be summer during my 3rd tri. Basically a pajama shirt and it's not even that comfy- I'll resale it I think. But I still enjoyed trying it on.
Thanks caer and @amc25 - he ended up moving fairly frequently today. Not quite as "aggressive" or "dramatic" as usual, but definitely felt him enough that I probably shouldn't freak out and call the OB yet. He might just be getting cramped in there? Hoping he dances and hiccups tonight so I can feel 100%.
Went to an International Women's Day event offered by our base today. A lot of it wasn't relevant to me as a current SAHM and as a person who has no problem standing up for myself but free childcare and a chance to hang out with awesome people was fun. I love the community of women I have here.
You know what is the worst?? Taking a nice long shower and sitz bath and soaking your ass and spritzing yourself with all the dermaplast and feeling good.......and then promptly having the runs/liquid poops :/
