imavera - it took my SIL about a month (maybe 6 weeks) from diagnosis to mastectomy and that was with our oncologist cousin pushing. She too had initial lumps on one side but was found to be in the other side and lymph nodes. Does your MIL live in your area?

Would probably not say anything to my DH, but tonight's date night was an utter disappointment. It was nice to be kid free for a couple hours and have a nice dinner without feeding/wrangling kids but after dinner DH said he started getting symptoms of man flu. This isn't good ya'll. We stopped for Starbucks and looked over my NCAA brackets and then came home. Watched a bit of a game and I just went to get the boys because he feels so sick he couldn't let the dog in from outside or go pick up the boys. We still had 1.5 hours until they needed picked up. We seriously have had less than a dozen date nights since having kids. They are just more and more disappointing.

ETA- excuse the language
I swear I'm going freak the f out on DH. I'm in the hallway trying to get kids to bed and he is in bed and asks me to grab his chapstick. I asked him where it was and he told me IN HIS FUCKING NIGHTSTAND!!! Less than 12 inches from his head. And I'm trying to get 3 boys ready for bed so I can sit down and get Noah to sleep. WTF?!?! Feeling seriously pissed. Even when I had mastitis and felt like I was dying I could get my own damn chapstick from my nightstand.
yl and lovemyirishtwins - I've recently boarded the lipsense train. I've never really worn lipsticks or glosses for many reasons, but so far I like this! I just picked up the matte gloss the other day, haven't tried it yet though.
I love that my lips feel super soft when I am wearing the gloss but are not glossy. It is weird in a nice way.
to me matte gloss sounds like an oxymoron. My lips are so thin, nothing looks good on them!
So for the past two weeks it has felt like my left ear has been clogged. When I turn my head, i can feel fluid moving around. Sometimes it was sore from the pressure. Tonight, the whole ear hurts and is hot. I was trying to have it resolve itself without abx since I'd rather not take them while pg. Now I might have to go to urgent care tomorrow. Gosh I hate ear infections. I don't even know how this happened... I haven't been sick or anything in a while!
I'm sorry 360blessings. I would make it very clear to him that you need to reschedule ASAP and that he needs to plan something GOOD. Like fancy dinner and do something that you want to do, open the car door for you and help you take off your coat GOOD. Sorry for the run-on sentence, but I can't articulate well tonight!

She does. Unfortunately, they have super crappy insurance, apparently, so they're not going to MD Anderson :/ I'm hoping they schedule the mastectomy on Monday. It just seems to cruel to drag along for so long in limbo.

Dang, I was hoping for MD. That's where my SIL went.

It's where she should be. We think it's pretty ridiculous that she isn't. People travel across the world to go there, and she won't even though she lives in the same city. Healthcare stuff is so terrible.
imavera - healthcare really does suck. I know my SIL's insurance wasn't the best so I don't know how they did with the bills. It's such an amazing place and the things they are able to try on their patients are crazy. I hope her doctors are just as knowledgeable.
ETA - DH just reminded me that her insurance actually dumped her because of all the cancer treatments and costs towards the end of her MD association. I had totally forgotten about that. I know they had to let some bills go to collections as well because they just couldn't keep up.
mnj05, Well, that's freaking terrible. Maybe they'll actually consider getting a 2nd opinion from them if it turns out she needs more than just a mastectomy.
