Sounds like rough mornings all around! @led , I'd gladly share my coffee with you as it's another of those mornings where a few sips has my stomach all queasy. alwayscheese , sorry you're struggling. The day is still fairly young, so give yourself some grace and see how things go from there.
Well I could hear it was terribly windy, and I thought it was raining. Turns out, nope it's snow and blowing blowing blowing around everywhere; no idea how much. And the house is 67°F. 😵 I am definitely less enthused about leaving the house. I need to run to the bank and get some potatoes for with the lamb leg I bought for supper.
I hate when snow takes you by surprise!
I keep our house at 65 perpetually. H hates me but secretly loves what it does for our budget lol.

So cold!! We keep our house at 72-73 during the winter, but we have terrible insulation so I think it's probably actually colder than that in most rooms.
Someone accidentally turned on the sleep/wake program (that we never use) on our thermostat the other day, so we woke up yesterday to our house being 64 degrees...! It was freezing!

Nope....Ours is 70 in the winter and I used to have it go down at night but we can't have it go below 68 with fostering. And I am always cold so still want blankets and fleece sheets. And H and I fight about the A/C in the summer

Ah that makes sense with the kids. Man, it will be 65 in our room with just a flannel sheet and a quilt and I STILL get hot at night! What the heck!
ohinvrtedworld H hates it in the winter with me. The fleece sheets are a compromise with him since he doesn't like them since he gets hot as well. I will still be bundled up and have warm socks on but I won't hold my ice cold feet and hands up to him by having the sheets.

Also, this morning was cold again...I am so sick of teasing us with a day or two of nice weather and then being cold again. And it is supposed to rain either today or tomorrow.

Well the dog I was evaluating was re-homed to someone else while I was trying to set up a time for my dog to meet the potential addition. I'm pretty disappointed. I know DH won't agree to the adoption fee for some of the rescues I've looked at right now.

I'm a bit of a thermostat control freak--we keep it around 67 in the winter whereas DH would probably prefer 70-72. And given how ancient our A/C unit is, I refused to run it last summer. We managed just fine with window fans and keeping the blinds shut during the day.

I slept in until 11 today! What! That still means I've been up for 2 1/2 hours though lol. Not terribly motivated, but I did just give the dog a bath, so there's some improvement over the last days I've been off. I've been trying to keep our apartment somewhere around 18C the entire winter (about 65). Having grown up in Florida, this really sucks, and means that I spend the entire winter in heavy socks, multiple sweaters, with a blanket around me. Yeah, that bad lol. But I hate our electric bill when it's higher. I actually just went and turned down all our heaters a little bit because it's been warm lately lol

Let it be known that it is chilly to me at 65 and if we could afford to at some point, I'd love to get a learning thermostat that plays with the temp but keeps us saving $$. I'm just such a cheapskate that I always convince myself that I can add blankets and drink tea to survive.

Sorry badwolf, that happened to my sister once. She was pretty devastated. I am sure the perfect dog will come along soon

I'm afraid I'm going to have to take that route after our $650 electric bill this month 😩 I keep the thermostat at 68 and it's already freezing! I can't wait for spring.

I'm watching Dave Chappelle's new special on Netflix and I'm dying. I'm so glad he's out of his hiatus!
Omg I need to see this! Comedy Central had a marathon on the chappelle show a couple weeks ago. I was like ok, this is still so funny even when I'm not stoned.

I'm making a bunch of breakfast sandwiches and quesadillas to freeze for quick meals. Man, it's a lot of work. People who say that batch cooking and freezing is easy are such liars lol.
