Thought we could do a check in on Mondays since a lot of us are going back to the gym, focusing on food (whether it be for weight loss, boosting supply or just better nutrition) or just trying to stay mentally well. Share your thoughts, tips, struggles, etc.

1. How did last week go? Good! I managed some long walks with minimal vag pain. My healing is finally moving along. I also lost 2 pounds. 12 more to go.
2. Goals for this week? Walk and do the seven-minute workout most days this week. If that goes well I'm going to sign up for a stroller fitness class starting next week.
3. Food thoughts (recipes, grocery shopping, etc.) I want to make quiche and salad, but no other ideas. I'm looking for inspiration.
4. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts: I noticed I'm effectively holding off sugar cravings by having a drink. Pretty excited that alcohol is part of my weight loss plan 😉
5. GTKY. Favorite place to buy workout clothes. TJ Maxx
@jacks605 I'm not really bfing anymore but I try to fill up and finish my 32 oz. cup the hospital gave me during delivery 3 times a day. So 96 oz.
notagoddess I just saw a stroller fitness class post the other day for my area! Let me know how you like yours if you end up going!
1. How did last week go? Great! Worked out 5 days & ate relatively well.
2. Goals for this week? 5 days again & really focus on eating real foods & less processed foods.
3. Food thoughts (recipes, grocery shopping, etc.) DH and I are going to grill pork chops and lots of veggies tonight. I'll use the leftover veggies in some omelets this week. Also going to make slow cooker chicken fajitas - chicken breasts, onions and peppers, salsa and low sodium fajita seasoning on low for 6 hrs. shred and serve with guac & whole wheat tortillas.
4. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts: Well my already super low supply tanked when I started working out last week despite adding in extra calories to account for the workouts. I'm also still doing all the extra supplements and teas and whatnot to try to boost supply. I got only 2 oz. total yesterday. DH and I decided it's just not worth it so we're weaning and moving to EFF. I actually feel pretty good with this decision. DD was formula fed from 3 months on and she turned out just fine.
5. GTKY. I like TJ Max and Target as well. And surprising Walmart. I have a ton of tanks and pants from there that I really like and they're way cheap. I still haven't made the plunge to get anything from lulu or athletica yet.
1. How did last week go? Not too bad. I got to the gym twice and did good walks another 3 days. Eating is still a mixed bag. I've been trying to keep healthier snacks around since I am so hungry all the time - natural fruit snacks, granola bars...
2. Goals for this week? We're travelling tomorrow - Wednesday and again Saturday so exercise will be more challenging, but gym 3-4 times this week and only eat out once for dinner and once for lunch.
3. Food thoughts (recipes, grocery shopping, etc.) Anyone have any good snack ideas that don't require preparation (meaning eat out of the package) so that I can grab and go with baby? Also - looking towards returning to work, any good lunch planning tips?
4. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts: What happened to BFing making it easier to lose the weight? I call BS!
5. GTKY. Favorite place to buy workout clothes. I do pretty well from Old Navy
QOTW - I try to drink at least 120oz (I also carry around a 32oz bottle that I try to go through 4-5 times a day)
dancerspose I love Larabars and Justin's Almond butter packets for already made snacks. Also bananas, apples and carrots for grab and go veggies/fruit.
1. How did last week go? Okay. We got to the gym 3 times. I'm mostly working on regaining form for basic exercises like squats, floor press, deadlifts (unweighted single leg), and hanging rows. I'm minimizing core stabilization requirements until the diastasis thing heals and doing the exercises my PT gave me to put my hips and ribs back where they're supposed to be. Ab separation was 2 fingers on March 29, barely 1.5 fingers yesterday. Progress!
2. Goals for this week? Go to the gym at least 3 times.
3. Food thoughts (recipes, grocery shopping, etc.) I'm shopping sales since our half cow of beef went bad when our freezer died. This week the big meat on sale is ham. I also have some ground turkey left from last week. I think we'll have some taco-like stuff, ham and something, and maybe fish at some point this week. Great plan, right?
4. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts: I'm still a few pounds above pre-pregnancy weight, but I think PT and form are more important than losing the few pounds right now. I suspect that will take care of itself when I can get back to heavier lifting. My long-term goal is to deadlift 185 lbs, front squat 150 lbs, bench 35 lbs/hand, and row 35 lbs/hand by the time L&M are a year old. I'd also like to get back down to the mid-140s for weight instead of hovering in the low 150s.
5. GTKY. Favorite place to buy workout clothes. Wherever I can get stuff that fits reasonably well for a reasonable price. Usually Kohls when they run sales.

1. How did last week go? Pretty well! I beat me step goal 4x last week despite only going to the gym 2x.
2. Goals for this week? Hit the gym at least 3x, reach step goal 6x, and keep up the good eating habits.
3. Food thoughts (recipes, grocery shopping, etc.) We've been great about cooking and not eating out, so I wanna keep that up. I know pesto chicken, oven fajitas, quiche, and summer sausage and pepper pasta are on the menu. Plus, veggies and salad on the side.
4. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts: Breast feeding never helps me lose weight. Lame. FX I can lose and not tank my supply.
5. GTKY. Favorite place to buy workout clothes. JC Penney or Target.
I try and drink at least 12 glasses of water a day. I can tell when I'm short.

1. How did last week go? Well until the weekend. We went to CT to my inlaws for the weekend and it's def harder to eat healthy when you aren't the one cooking. I did do all of my workouts for the week and kept up on squats, and stayed within my calorie goal 5 of 7 days.
2. Goals for this week? Complete all workouts, walk every day to the beach and back, take one solo jog to start that process of getting back to running, and stay under my calorie goal for 6 of 7 days. Easter will be a wash I'm sure.
3. Food thoughts (recipes, grocery shopping, etc.) I have been trying lots of my recipes while on leave and wanted to share some healthy ones that have been hits here that we are adding to our rotation:
4. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts: I know it takes time, and honestly it's falling off more quickly than it did with DD1, but i just want to finish losing the weight and have my tone back now. Bikini season is looming and I'm starting to panic, lol. I've been pregnant for two summers in a row so I've been able to rock the bump. Not so much this year!
5. GTKY. Favorite place to buy workout clothes. Lululemon for pants/crops and target for tops/bras.
1. Last week was good on the exercise front, not that great in terms of healthy eating.
2. Goals for this week: exercise three times. I'm making no food goals because Easter.
3. Uh, I love jelly beans? I'm trying to make smart breakfast choices because that is the meal I can control 99% of the time. I'm trying to eat a good enough breakfast that I don't get hungry before lunch.
4. I keep thinking this will all be much easier when LO is on a more predictable schedule and learns to love crib naps.
5. I have a mish mash of stuff from old navy and jcp.

1. How did last week go? Not so good. My husband was on call so I didn't have much help.
2. Goals for this week? Make good food choices and try to do some physical activity everyday.
3. Food thoughts (recipes, grocery shopping, etc.) We eat alot of chicken because it's budget friendly. I might make a trim healthy mama cake to curb the sweets cravings.
4. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts: I still have 20 pounds to lose before I'm at my pre pregnancy weight. My sister just gave us their double jogging stroller so I walked a mile on our dirt road this morning. I need to find my fitbit and get started with that again. Another goal of mine is to start exercising with Team Red White and Blue again. Our local chapter walks on Monday nights so I might try that tonight. Get a few hours away from the toddler.
5. GTKY. Favorite place to buy workout clothes. Walmart has some good exercise pants. I need to pick up another pair.

First of all I LOVE THIS!!
1. It went great. I did my core rehab exercises every day. Cardio 4 days, my intensive workouts (which are part of my rehab program) 4 days, and I did body pump once!
2. My goal is to just complete my circuits, work on my body alignment, stay away from dairy through Easter weekend.
3. I'm in charge of baking for Easter. I'm going to make Easter candy bar cookies and a dairy free fresh strawberry shortcake with a coconut milk frosting!
4. I am finishing week 6 of my diastasis rehab program. My weight hasn't really gone down since hitting my prepregnancy weight. These last ten "goal" pounds are going to be tough to shed. But I think my stomach is starting to look better. I just want it to be flat and look good in clothes. Also go away muffin top!
5. Tj Maxx has a great selection.
@jacks605 I am not drinking enough water! I try so hard every day to drink more. Especially where I am worried about my supply. Especially in evenings. I ordered some milky mama tea to help try and boost my supply.
dancerspose I do a handful of almonds with craisins a lot. It's easy and delicious. And I go through bags of halos!
oldbaylover1024 I lost weight after weaning last child. I'm not ready for that; but hoping it happens again when I am done breastfeeding. Weird some people hold on to a little extra, while others don't.
1. Well, I stopped eating ice cream before bed (lol), and made more energy bites (healthier), so that was good. And I walked once - but it rained a lot, so we didn't get to go for walks as much as I wanted. Plus we were really busy.
2. Walk 3/4 times; continue to not eat ice cream...
4. I am agreeing with shellbell, and hoping that exercising becomes easier when my baby is on a more predictable schedule. Honestly, there's so much to do that I sometimes really don't make time for exercising. Also, I want to wait until my 6 week appointment to do anything serious. That is Friday, so I'm almost there.
Lindsay Brin has a great post partum exercise video series if anyone is looking.
5. Um... I just wear old ratty t-shirts and yoga pants from old navy. Or leggings.

shawnabm1320 yes, I try my best. I'm not on plan 100% of the time but it's my goal. Have you looked into it? I was doing really well with it before I got pregnant. I was below my pre pregnancy weight and running regularly.

I've done it twice now - before pregnancy 1 briefly, and for a longer time before and during pregnancy 2. I fell off the wagon once I got pregnant the first time, but managed to stay at probably 75% until later in pregnancy with number 2. I'm hoping to get back into it in a month or two. I liked it a lot, and it really helped me lose the weight from my first pregnancy. We were never 100% on plan, though.
I hit my 10,000 steps twice since Z was born (and I wasn't hitting it too often while pregnant either). When my first buzzed with the goal I didn't realize what it was at first because it had been so long.

Good timing with this pivot! I just hit 6w PP so today is my new start day for being healthier, so far it sucks 😬 1. Work is so busy, I was stressed and didn't eat well. Was waiting for working out until this week. 2. Goal is to do the MuTu program every day this week. My diastasis is bad. Plus walk or elliptical 30 min. 3. I need quick/healthier sweet options. I'm good with fruit and stuff but sometimes I just need something sweet. A handful of chocolate chips adds up when you do it all day! 4. Is anyone tracking calories? I hate doing it but I was interested in what I was doing. Kellymom says to get 1500-1800 a day. I just can't imagine this, I'm already at 1650 and it's not even 4pm! 5. I love lulu sports bras and Zella capris.

1. How did last week go? Pretty good food-wise, was still in a lot of pain so nothing on the activity front.
2. Goals for this week? Continue to make home cooked meals. Tonight is breakfast for dinner, tomorrow will be tacos. Short walks with R at least 2 days this week.
3. Food thoughts (recipes, grocery shopping, etc.). Trader Joe's turkey meatballs are delicious! So easy to make along with spaghetti and was lunch for 2 days afterwards.
4. Questions/AW/Rants/Thoughts: I'm thinking of going back to WW as a member, it helped me lose 60 pounds the first time so I know I can lose the 17 I need to get back to Lifetime.
5. GTKY. Favorite place to buy workout clothes. Kohl's and Target.

pivot - I'll sorry your supply tanked and I am glad that you have decided to go EFF. I did that 2 weeks ago with R and so much stress was lifted. I do miss the lactation cookies though, they were delicious!
