Came into work early since I'm planning on leaving after my last call scheduled for today to go to Kings Island with H and the kids! E is so excited.
I got some cute Mickey Mouse stuff for O's birthday next weekend. We are just going to invite family over for dinner, but I let O pick out his birthday theme and get plates/napkins/balloons. O said he wanted an Elmo party, but I saw some cute Mickey stuff at Target so I got that instead. Oh well, he also loves Mickey.
Bub and I have the day off. I think we'll do a little shopping and find a playground. I want to get a new phone because mine had been acting up a lot.
Do you have an iPhone? I have a new iPhone and it is screwy as hell. My email stops working in it all the time and my camera app freezes up. I can't fig re it out. I turn it off and on and it fixes it but I'm having to do that every few days.

No it's a Samsung. My main issue is the battery, which is always a problem as I get close to the 2 yr mark on a droid. It gets to about 35% and then dies. But it doesn't just die, it tries to reboot, and just gets stuck in this loop of rebooting, and if I don't plug it in it just keeps trying for about 30 minutes and then the battery dies. I'm 2 months away from an upgrade so I'm just going to buy out my contract and get a new one. But now I'm seeing the S8 will be here next week, so maybe I won't get one today.
I decided to take today off to work on PTIng (yesterday wasn't good) and get the house together ( messy).
Any other remedies for swollen legs/ankles/feet? Been soaking in epsom salt for 15-20 mins once a day, and it feels great but I haven't noticed the swelling going down yet

Did you do the new ios download? I heard that's what causing issues. I've avoided it so far and have no issues with my phone (I have a new one also).

I'm not so sure there's a solution at this point. Par for the course and all. Have you tried compression socks? I would ask the OB for suggestions.

Sit with your feet elevated? (LOL easier said than dine) Drink a lot of water? (I'm sure you're doing that) That's all I can think of. When my friend at work was pg with twins last year, her feet were SO swollen, all the time. People would see them and be like "OMG are you OK?" But she said her doctor was not concerned.

You could try buying a new battery. See if that's less than buying out your contract.

Soaking your whole body maybe? Idk. That's what helped me.

I don't think it's worth it. I plan to upgrade in June anyway because I want something smaller and easier to use with 1 hand before baby comes. It's less than $100 to buy out. I make payments for the phone in our bill each month, so I just have to make the remaining two phone payments in advance.
I'm here, home with the kids today. We will probably go to the park later if anyone wants to get out to this side of town let me know. Be forewarned, mil will probably be there too lol.

I would take it to VZW, and see if they might know a solution; just make sure you have everything backed up JIC.
I sent Easter eggs with candy into daycare today. His class wasn't doing a party. Fine then the kids get straight sugar.
DC is going an egg hunt today (right about now actually). We had to bring in eggs for his class. I had M stuff them with fruit snacks. I'm totally that mom; I considered non edibles, but didn't want to spend that much because I'm also cheap.

Yeah that's the other thing. I can't get it to connect to my computer to back up my pictures. They all back up automatically to my Google account I think, but I went through yesterday and deleted a ton of pictures so hopefully they'll be able to transfer them to the new phone and I can transfer to my computer from there.

If you have google photos installed you should be good.
I'll probably stop at the VZW store and see what they say, depending on Bub's mood. There's definitely something wrong, but at this point I'm better off upgrading than using insurance to get a new one of the same. And I think the manufacturer warranty only covered the first year.
Thanks for the tips. Pulling the compression socks out today.
Also any advice for PTing at the sitter? She is not on board with commando or undies only. And she has several other kids, so she isn't as committed to DD's success as I am. I think she's more one to train them when they're 3, when "They're ready." And she doesn't think DD is ready yet. So far DD has done a lot better with PTing at home with H and me than with her.
It's frustrating because I really believe in this method and am all in, but she isn't. We've gone back and forth on some ideas, and both agree that pull ups are a set back because DD treated them like diapers. I suggested undies with a plastic cover over, and she countered with an old school cloth insert with the plastic cover over it, because it would be more absorbent and probably more uncomfortable if she has an accident. Idk, what do you all think?

I don't have advice but I feel for you because that's basically what happened to us and what I think is the sole reason he still isn't fully poop trained. It's very frustrating but if the person isn't on board and your kid isn't going to do it all themselves, there's not a whole lot you can do. Im in the same boat. I expected my kid to eventually be motivated on his own to just do it and he's just not. And same with pull-ups. Putting him in pull ups basically means he's not potty training and is in diapers and will use them like diapers.

I have a feeling this will be unpopular, but my GAF bucket is empty...
If she's not getting the hang of PT'ing and sitting on the potty just to get praise, it's ok to step back. You can go back to diapers for a few weeks, but still encourage using the potty. When it seems like she's prompting to go to the potty (and actually using it) try no diapers again. I know the Oh Crap! method is popular around here, but it seems like it puts a lot of unintentional pressure on the parent and child. Z is a young 2, and many children aren't ready to PT until closer to 3. I know the thought of 3 in diapers is frustrating, scary, and expensive, but I also feel like months of sort of being potty trained is equally frustrating for everyone involved.

I'm going to have to agree. If she's having that many accidents, idk if I'd say she's ready. As a parent, I totally get your frustration, and as a child care giver, I totally feel your provider too because it's not just Z, so she can't be in top of her the whole time to make sure she gets to the potty. It's a pain to clean up accident after accident while taking care of other kids at the same time.
Do you think knows how to hold it? That's when I knew DD was ready... She was staying dry for 2+ hours. She lets me know when she has to go potty now too (it only took her a couple days to start doing that). I still remind her a lot, but I think that's just me being nervous. I like the commando for 3-5 (or however many) days thing (i didn't read any books), but i still feel like they need to actually be ready for it. And it is so so so much easier when they are ready. Like so much easier.

I would agree to back off if the kid isn't getting either pee or poop after several days of full on PT. Especially when you can't control what's happening on those other days. I feel like the "3 day method" only works if the kid is motivated to do the pottying themselves or if the motivated parent is going to be with them 24/7. We can only do so much as working parents, unfortunately. I disagree that the method puts pressure on the parent or child. Potty training has to be attempted at some point and not many children at 3 or even older are going to raise their hand and say "I would like to learn how to potty now." No matter whether you do it at 2 or 4, the child still has to learn where to put poop or pee. I would say the method was really good about focusing on praise, not using negativity, and focused entire chapters on not making potty a control issue or hurting their self esteem. She advocates strongly for using PT as a self esteem building learning experience. We as parents have to know when to step back. For me, I hung on too long because he truly is ready and capable to do it. He was from a very young two as well. He never had pee accidents. So it made sense that he would figure poop out soon enough if we just kept going. What i didn't account for is that my child could blatantly decide he does not want to do it. Or isn't going to do it. I think that's different scenarios than lindsay daughter maybe not getting it yet.

I agree on taking a step back on pt'ing too. With N I tried one weekend and she just wasn't getting it. I didn't really care to push on it bc it didn't really bother me to change diapers at the time. I waited till she really seemed ready and was getting it and it worked out way better than I expected.
The Oh Crap Method only worked for us because I was off work, and our DC was on board with it too. It was not a 3 day method for us. It was like a month of nonstop thinking about PT (on my part. I don't think it was that stressful for DS). If your DCP isn't on board, and you obviously don't have that kind of time or brain power to dedicate to it, I think you should consider a different method, or stepping back altogether. You gotta figure out what works with your life.
I can't relate to DC, but can relate to struggling to see if they're ready or not lindsay. We decided to push through some of the challenging spots, once he started taking initiative to be potty trained. I know it helped that I'm with him all the time. I just can't stand the idea of putting him back in diapers when he can do it and wants to do it. We've never shamed him and he's definitely embarrassed when he has the occasional accident. He yells "woah! Woah!" And lifts his arms to be carried to the potty and then he'll usually finish up there. Overall, he does well. He keeps his pants dry probably 4 days/ week, but does still have the occasional accident, especially if we've been in the car a lot. They also seem to snowball, so once he has one, then he usually has 2-3 that day. He's also learned to hold it more and go longer stretches the longer we've been at this. I guess those are my "readiness signs" vs never having accidents.
You know her best. If you want to borrow any cloth diaper stuff, LMK since we don't use much of it right now, just at night.
