mrscatfarmer13 and babylove518 the thing is that she was doing so well with H and me at home, aside from yesterday. Today she hasn't had any accidents yet, 5 times successfully on the potty, and has either told me she needs to go or gone when I said let's try. So I hate to throw in the towel. I suppose she can hold it for a minute when she's the one saying "I need to go" but doubt she'd hold it for more than a minute or two after that.
It's just such a big difference from 1-on-1 time where the goal is let's do this thing, vs at the sitter. I guess she isn't ready for the atmosphere and situation there, I think she would need more maturity master it there with being able to stop playing or watching a show, and tell the sitter. Cuz at home I'm paying attention and in control of the timing of when we do everything.

IMO sounds like co-parenting gone bad. From what you say it's working you just need to find a way to get your DC on board. A had a few bad spot but I dare to say she's got it.
However you could be fighting a loosing battle because you're not with her the majority of the day. At DC they put them on the potty every hour and on demand, now we're on two hours. But this kid is a camel and holds it for 2+ hours. I say try a blended method with DC. Is there something that you both can agree on ? She's potty trained tons of kids she has to have something that works for everyone. Hang in there don't give up if she's ready.

Well today's ENT visit did not go great. They confirmed that his left ear is fine and the right one is still infected. The tube is blocked with wax. I guess it's been happening for a while because it's turned black and hard. They tried to remove the blockage so the tube would drain and couldn't. So we're on abx and drops for the next ten days, when we have to go back so they can try again (btw, trying to clear the blockage is not fun. It took three of us to hold him down). If they still can't clear the blockage when we go back, they will remove the tube. And that means another surgery for a new tube.

I think I've mentioned before that my nephew is 3.5. He does okay at home but has accidents if they go out anywhere. It doesn't make any sense why he can remember to poop in the potty at home 75% of the time but 0% when out and about. My DS was pretty good if he was with us going while out last summer and fall. Post baby and putting him in pull ups at school and it really set us back. I'm sorry you're going through this. It's hard. It would be so nice if they all just got it quickly. Especially after putting time in and taking off work. I really feel for you.

lindsay, sounds like she's really got it at home. That's so frustrating. I'm guessing your DCP has kids of all ages? Can she not set her on the potty every hour or so like mominthemaking14 mentioned? How does she do out and about? Or have you not tried that yet? She definitely needs to get on the same page as you for it to work!

Yuck. That doesn't sound fun. When was his last ENT follow up before this? Maybe they need to see him more often. My ENT did checks every 3 months.
lindsay I know the Oh Crap book makes you feel like this is the only way, and if you give up you're a failure. But there are so many kids in the world that got potty trained just fine even though their parents did all the "wrong things" according to that author. If your DCP is on board with PT, but just not that method, see if you can find something that works. Have you tried pull-ups? My DS does not treat pull-ups like a diaper. We called them "Lightning McQueen undies" and I don't think he ever really realized he could pee in them. He normally keeps them dry. I think I'd give it a try with Pull-ups or the plastic cover and having your sitter put her on the potty every hour and just see how it goes. And then at home you can still go diaper free.
That sounds awful sstwinklinglites. I'm so sorry you're dealing with that on top of everything else. I hope the wax clears on its own. Did they mention Debrox at all? That's what they told us to use to de-wax Z's ears, but he doesn't have tubes.

That book sets a great mindset and foundation but it's not all inclusive. It's like reading a book on breastfeeding- it's helpful for the basics but not really for troubleshooting or dealing with the actual issues involving your own unique situation.

We had a follow up in Sept. and were supposed to have one in March that he missed. I'm kicking myself for that because this would have probably been caught then. When I called to reschedule that one they couldn't get me in until June.

You didn't know. I got annoyed at those appointments and thought they were useless because the tubes were working for us but I guess there's always exceptions! This is not one thing to be exceptional at A!
babylove518 yea she has quite a mix of ages right now, 6 month, 12 month, another 2 year old, 2.5 and 3.5 year olds. So far she's been two there only two days this week, and she put her on the potty every 30 mins, sometimes she'd go and other times she wouldn't but would pee on the floor or in a pull up. I think it was confusing her DD to have pull ups on which she equates to a diaper. I feel like DD needs to get it down pat at home, and then have support and no pull ups at The sitters in order to get this right.
Out and about with H and me has been good but some accidents. We've done 4 outings- zoo, entertrainment, SILs house and out for ice cream, and she peed/pooped on the potty with our prompting 80% of the time. Had we not prompted, I think she would have been too distracted to tell us and would have messed up a lot more. She does a good job telling me at home, but I don't think we're there yet out and about.

lindsay, yeah even underwear confused DD for the first week. Today was the first day I put her in underwear and pants instead of going commando. Pull ups confused her as well. So I am only using them for naps right now. Maybe you can talk DCP into it after telling her how well Z does over the weekend.
Good point! I think if we get to zero or just one accident over the weekend, she'd be on board with commando.
I'm crossing everything for you but just in case... my DS was accident free with us as well- I did like 3-4 long 3 day weekends in a row and he did really well with us. Only because if I saw him trying to poop or hiding to go poop- I would have him use the potty. It seemed like they never caught his "signs" at daycare and he wouldn't poop when prompted- only pee. Poop for him has to be self prompted.

I feel like prompting her every 30 min is too much and a sign that she's probably not quite ready. It sounds like she's right on the cusp of being there though, but I'm firmly camp in camp wait 1-2 wks or even a month and try again. It's amazing at what a little time can do sometimes.
The big fat hairy black and yellow bees... do they sting? I didn't see the one that got Bub yesterday, but I've seen quite a few of those today. Should I be looking for a nest or just ignore them?

Yes!! Have H spray it before bed when they all go in. Look in corners.
Carpenter bees are huge and don't sting and make nests in corners of porches. Bumble bees do sting and their nests are in the ground. You can google for pictures of the difference.

The carpenter bees may not sing, but they're scary. Lol.
