School is delayed an hour due to flooding. Laying in bed an extra 30 minutes and still having a more leisurely morning is awesome. I may feel differently when I'm starting conference calls from carpool line, but all bright spots on Mondays are needed and appreciated.
Middle school tryout day 1 for DD1 tonight. I'm way more nervous than she is so I hope that bodes well!

I've been mostly MIA it seems for the last week or so. Just been crazy. We went to the Indy Children's Museum yesterday which is just awesome for kids. By far the best children's museum I've been to. Taking DS2 with me to work today since we will be seeing someone in Allergy this afternoon. They can't do skin testing for his allergies since we only made this appointment 4 days ago and he has to be med free for 5 days. I think they will do some blood tests and then hopefully can get us in for skin testing sooner. Thankfully he has been better this weekend. Also very thankful my boss is okay with me bringing my kids to work on days like today.

I woke up around midnight so sick. I slept on the bathroom floor for a couple hours because I needed the cold and to be close. Now I have a fever and I'm so achy, the lower back pain is so bad it actually feels like back labour. I can't even walk across the house without getting light headed and have to sit down. This sickness is awful. I'm sending the boys to the sitter at 9 as planned, mama needs to sleep this off.
Yesterday was a long day. DD was not listening at church, and then threw a hugh fit. So we left with no cookies and no Sunday school.
Then we had a crafting session for our churches Ladies Event. I left the kids home for that and it was fun.
I was invited tonight to a Monday night workout group. I need and have been looking to join something. Only problem is my husband has meetings every Monday night until Memorial day. I got a sitter for tonight, thankfully, but I shall be spending my day cleaning the house.
Also taking my car in today to find out what the problem is. FX that it's a cheap and easy fix!
I'm trying not to hurl. Ultrasound this morning ultimately went well, but I was super anxious beforehand so I still feel a little freaked out. Is it terrible to stop and get second breakfast already? If so, I'm about to be a terrible person. With an egg sandwich and a hash brown.
@officedronette, Glad you had another good u/s! I ALWAYS work myself up before them and stress for days then want to puke while I'm waiting in the room, even for regular doppler appointments! It royally sucks. I hope you will reward your self with second breakfast ASAP

Diagnose my child:
Elena's got a cold, I guess - mostly a snotty nose. Her eyes are watery, though, too. Now her right eyelid is a bit swollen, and after she sleeps that eye is definitely goopy. The whites of her eyes are white. She doesn't seem bothered by them.
Could this be pinkeye? Just face drainage since she's so snotty?
She could very well be cutting her top canines, also. She's been exhibiting changeling behavior off and on all weekend, which is generally reserved for teeth, for her.
ETA picture, since she let me get one. She has not been crying.

I'm sorry so many are sick! Hopefully everyone feels better soon!!
We had a rough weekend, kind of. Just toddler sleep regression (?) and lingering pregnancy nausea and vomiting (and exhaustion!!!) that won't stop. My husband is an angel, though. Seriously.
kristhegirl it's allergy conjunctivitis. HH and I both get it when we have allergy issues, a sinus infection, or earaches. It'll probably go away during the day.
This is true, it's much better during the day.
sharebear05 I'm hesitant to go to the pedi since I'd have to deal with both kids, but I'll keep that in mind if she's acting worse today.
She's already perking way up with breakfast, so that's good.

Do you have a pedi checkup for her arm soon? Maybe you could just have them check her ears then.
We have an AMAZING pediatric urgent care that is open all hours. Do you have something like that there? If your copay isn't too crazy I'd think about that once YH is home too.
Wednesday = cast off!!! But it's with an ortho.
I have no idea about a pedi urgent care. 😬 Maybe I should know these things. We eat last have a nearby general urgent care.
Good luck Mr. rayann687! That is perfect rachydc. Congratulations again! I hope everyone feels better soon.
I accidentally ran my phone through the wash yesterday... I'm supposed to be getting a new one delivered tomorrow and it's been so weird to not have it with me all the time.
Molly is obsessed with being outside which is good except for the fact that its going to be cold and rainy again this week and she isn't going to be happy about it. Her swing set should be coming in this week though, so that's excellent. We are going to have to talk our friends into helping set it up in he next few weeks.

Why do my patients pick Monday to show up FOUR (!!) hours earlier than their scheduled appointment time?! And yes, not just one person has done this today.
kristhegirl, clear discharge can just be a cold/allergy symptom. i wouldn't bother taking her to the pedi unless the discharge turns yellow/green or goopy.

This is...something. I've never shown up for anything 4 hours early, but especially not a medical thing. Doctor's offices aren't super fun hangout places.
kristhegirl my kids get eye infections pretty easily with colds. If I see swollen eyelids and green gunk leaking out of their eyes then they usually need drops. I'd keep an eye on it and see how it goes and if it's not clearing up your pedi may prescribe some drops over the phone.
Wash her eyes with a warm washcloth when she wakes up and then wash your hands well.
Ds had a pulmonology appt this morning. They were running way behind. But everything when well. They want him to start seeing an allergist.
Other than that I am going to work on our gardens today. I am going to start pulling all the weeds. Can I spray anything on the weeds to kill them since it will be a couple weeks before we plant?
Today is going to be a rough day at work, and, of course, my co-teacher is out today. She was out the day after the election when I had to talk to our mostly-Mexican students about that all alone, and now I know they will have a ton of questions about what happened yesterday (a member of our staff was suicidal and had a standoff with the police on campus) and I am so bad at talking about this stuff.
I wrote the number for a suicide hotline on the board just in case.

kristhegirl Coming from someone who's first phrase was "eyes momma" because I had such bad allergies and colds and chronic sinus infections as a kid, E has my sorries. Cold washcloths help. And Johnson and Johnson shampoo on a washcloth to clean works wonders. Seriously that stuff saved me from antibiotics a few times.
lovemyirishtwins, you can spray them with straight vinegar or pour boiling water on them... but if there's nothing else in the area (like it's an empty bed you want to plant in soon) probably the easiest thing is to put down a thick layer of newspaper. wet the dirt, then wet the newspaper, then cover with dirt or mulch. this will smother whatever is in there.

I have another interview! This job would be huge for me, with a big region and the pay is basically unheard of for me. I know I won't get it, but I'm going to interview anyways. It's crazy they even want an interview, I have 2 of the many many qualifications they asked for. If I get the first one I interviewed for I'll be accepting it no questions asked, but doing this interview anyways. If they for some reason want me then I'll have to make a really hard choice.
wineandcake - don't sell yourself short. Studies show men apply for jobs if they meet only 60% of the criteria while women wait until they meet 90-100%. Good luck.
yl - it sounds like you're handling a challenging situation as best you can.
