DD was 2 weeks old at her shower. No one cared that I was there, lol. I was supposed to be 36/37 weeks around that time, so maybe do it before then. We had another shower during Chirstmas break for all of my friends that were home from college. Never trust an 18 year old with a fabric marker and a onesie, things get weird. Or maybe do.
Nothing for DS because we didn't have many friends in the area yet and no family around.
My mom friends are pretty hardcore about baby celebrations no matter what number kid it is for you. I think I'm just going to talk them into a small brunch with just us, though.
@annperkins, my friend had her second last May and I threw her a "sprinkle." There were only about 10 of us at my house for brunch, and it was really nice. I think baby celebrations are totally appropriate even for 2nd/3rd+ kids.

We had our shower around 32 weeks I think? It was good timing, gave us time to figure out what we still needed and wash all of the clothes. And I wasn't gigantic yet.
Have any of you been asked about showers yet? My bff has known since right after I got my bfp, so she's chomping at the bit to start planning a shower. She knows it freaks me out though, so she basically just told me to tell her when I want to talk details. I think I'll wait until after my anatomy scan on June 5th, but it's gotten me starting to think about guest lists and stuff already.
That's awesome she's so excited. Hopefully after your AS you'll be excited to talk details.
No shower for me, because second baby. My mom mentioned a sprinkle if it's a boy, but otherwise we'll forgo all that jazz.

I threw a shower for a friend whose baby came six weeks early. Baby was a week old the original date of the shower, but we pushed it back a full month so baby could come once put of the nicu. It was definitely a neat experience, but not something I'd suggest, obviously.

bethkate, so happy for you! I love your announcement.
I feel like my baby shower is going to be out of control. I went to a friend's house yesterday and her friend told me I have to invite her to my shower! I have lots of friends and family and ahh. I already feel like I'm getting a lot of hand me downs and won't need much.
However, DH's niece who lent us her car seat and stroller attachment, bassinet and swing just found out she's due in January, so guess we gotta give all that back!
