MEK please don't worry about autism. It is too early to even think about that. Did something change there a few months ago? I just couldn't imagine my DCP saying that after all this time. I'm sorry you are dealing with that.
cagoldi holy crap! A is counting and doing colors?
Afm I am all alone this weekend. DH and I decided to give each other a free weekend this month so I was with C at my parents last weekend and he is with C now at his. I deep cleaned the house and now I'm sitting in the tub. I feel very anxious though. DH has been driving me nuts lately and I just want to talk it out with him but that's not possible until Sunday. Hopefully I can stop thinking about it and enjoy my freedom.
That's a great idea! I'm also baby free this weekend, we are away for the weekend. I Take the weekend to relax gather your thoughts and talk to him on Sunday. Maybe a little time away is just what you need.
@mothereffer, you're a wonderful mommy, and I'm so sorry you're being put through this stress. IMO, it sounds like your DCP doesn't want to do their job. They should be trying to work with him and resolve the situation rather than throw out a label. Lazy. That's what it sounds like. Every child is different. Jerks.
wedding Yay for a baby free weekend! That sounds amazing. A is not counting in the way I think of counting, he doesn't grasp the concepts yet, I'm sure. He knows three colors as far as I can tell, but they're working on that at circle time at DC.
In CD's daycare, the kids are all over the place, in terms of development and socialization. I love it because it reminds the teachers AND parents that kids are all different. I wonder if your DCP gets a bit forgetful from only having 1 young kid at a time?
And C is not talking really, let alone counting. Just putting that out there since I'm sure he's not alone.

MEK I am so angry for you right now. like seeing red rage. Get Si out of there. She is NOT qualified to be saying shot like that. I wish you could get a break. FFS you deserve it. I'd definitely your some places that have dedicated classrooms for his age group.
Hugs lady. I wish I could give this woman a piece of my mind.

Yall. E was just sitting with dh and chewing on her toothbrush. She took it out, looked at it, mumbled something under her breath, walked over to her activity table and inserted it into the hole that holds her hammer.
I'm so sorry you are dealing with a difficult situation at day care, @mothereffer. It is really very wrong for her to suggest autism unless she has some sort of background in identifying or diagnosing it. She should not be putting those thoughts in your head. I'm so upset for you.
For what it's worth, V is in a day care center and most of the time she plays independently or with a teacher, and I've mentioned before that she was described as "too needy". At this age their needs/wants are different and can vary from week to week. I wouldn't put any stock in what this lady is saying.
klongoria11 DH and I like to do some DIY...I'm getting more confident the more we do...but I would leave the popcorn ceiling removal to the pros. xolastunicornxo happy birthday! and sending lots of positive thoughts for your middle one shelbster your story made me LOL. I was so paranoid of 'blow-outs' in high school. Also, on a semi-related note, I have not used a tampon since pre-pregnancy. I'm kind of afraid, TBH. @peachsmama congrats on the interview! Sounds like this could be a great opportunity and you can cross the promotion-bridge when you get there. ladystrat I'm kind of weird and enjoy painting, too. It is so transformational for relatively little $. I still need to AW my newly painted built-ins b/c I'm so proud of them, but am waiting for the new hardware I ordered to come in. @mothereffer I hope you can find a new dcp for Si that you're all more comfortable with. You're a great mom and I'm sure you guys will get this worked out.
On the subject of development, B has always been very physically on track, but is not really talking much. Other than mama and dada, I *think* I've heard him try to say "papa", "puppy", "bubbles", "ball", "yeah", and our dog's name, and he'll shake his head for 'no'. But I've only been able to get him to repeat a couple of those. I know that he understands a lot, and I can give direction and he'll take appropriate action. He babbles, yells, grunts and makes other noises, and my sister is a pediatric speech-pathologist and isn't concerned, so I'm trying not to be, either! But it's hard, especially when I read things on here that other babies are saying. My mom told me today that I didn't really start saying a lot until I was 16-18 months old...and I haven't really shut up since, soooo maybe B will be like that, too:)

@mothereffer I'm sorry your DC provider felt it was her place to make such an assessment of Si. Def. not ok. Have a great time with your Mom and forget about the dc teacher.
Also mwhipple77 I meant to say congrats on your raise and i'm glad you're feeling more confident about your job! any luck with the house y'all were putting in an offer on?

Cadence has a couple of words she can speak clearly and a few more that I know what she is trying to say, but I seem to be the only one who does. I talked to her pedi about it yesterday and she wasn't concerned. She said if she doesn't add more words by 18 months then we will test her hearing, but since she is able to understand and follow simple directions she doesn't think it is necessarily a hearing issue and that we probably just need to let her talk in her own time.
ladystrat That is helpful. Thank you! I feel like I need a more objective opinion, you know? My parents, Pete's parents, my sisters, everybody around us is very enthusiastic about what they think his abilities are. I get it, but I feel like it's natural for grandparents and people close to him to want to feel like he's extra special. I think babies are amazing and it's easy to forget how quickly they learn and when they learn it if you've never been around many young kids, or haven't been around them in a very long time.
Re: talking. I think all the kids sound like they are doing well. Our pedi said most have a command of 5-10 words at this age.
@mothereffer Would you DCP be willing to wear Si at all? Do you think he would go for that? Maybe that would help him feel a little more secure?
A's separation anxiety is insane lately, and we've had to break out the Ergo again, when we hadn't used it in several months.
I didn't even think of this. I doubt she would, but it might help me at home.
Not sure how much space you have, but the Learning Tower worked out really well tonight. I'm not sure where I'll keep it, since my kitchen is tiny, but he was happy to be up where he could see what I was doing and didn't demand to be held while I was cooking dinner. It might be worth your while to look into getting one.
I really don't get the current love tit label. Lends sugar? I know the saying, but I don't get the connection to liking something. Someone is trying too hard.
I can't see what the label is but from what you said maybe it's like on "hey ya" when he sings "lend me some sugar, I am your neighbor"

That was my guess. Random story...my college sorority house was next door to a fraternity, and we went with them to Homecoming one year. This was printed on the back of our Homecoming tshirts. That seems like not that long ago, but it was 10+ years.
Exciting, mwhipple77. Hope everything works out for y'all! We bought our first house this summer and it definitely had its moments. For us, the worst part was the negotiating once the inspection report came back. By then, we were "emotionally invested" and the dickering was nerve-wracking.
