The dictator slept from 930 to 5 with one 230 wake up for a diaper change. happy mommy! DH is staying home today because of the snow so I'll have help with the dictator. And maybe we will make a snow man.
We were supposed to get ice/snow last night, but it seems like that didn't happen, so I'm about to get ready for work. Yesterday was my first day back from maternity leave, but I worked from home.
DS2 slept 10-2 and 2:15 to 5, which is probably a record for him. Yay!

The fire alarm went off in DS2's room at the ass crack of dawn (5:08) turned his heater off (baseboard). Brought in a second fire alarm from down stairs and had H look at it before he left for work. Apparently the kids shoved a plastic Indian toy in it. Just what we wanted! Yay!! Hope rest of my day doesn't go like this.
I've been up for an hour and a half with Z and she's finally going back to sleep. It's 7am and I'm seriously debating getting up and making cinnamon rolls...I have a lot of shit to do today and I already know I'm going to be dragging ass so why not add in a sugar crash right? Lol

DS is sick. Cough and runny nose, plus what I think might be pink eye. Greaaat. Now, not only can he not go to preschool today, I may need to lug him to the doctor. So much for my relaxing morning and "day off" of toddlerness.
I woke up with the worst stomach cramps ever at the motn feeding so I asked DH to take care of p. He did feed him but than placed him in the crib and went outside for a cigarette and snowy stroll while p cried. Thanks for the help I guess maybe I should have clarified that I didn't want to get up

LO was wide awake at 1:30 am and didn't go back to sleep until 2:45.... Then up again at 4:00 and 5:30. I'm so jealous if everyone getting long sleeps. I could use a break. He is such a noisy sleeper when he is sleeping. I hope that changes. I'm exhausted.
We were supposed to get 1-2 inches of snow tonight, and we got a dusting. It's supposed to continue through the morning, so we'll see. LO slept for 5.5 hours last night in her p&p and 2.5 in her momaroo. I slept a little over an hour on the couch and 4.5 in bed. I'm thoroughly convinced that, had I stuck her in the p&p and not let her sleep in the momaroo, she'd have done all that sleeping in the p&p. My baby's sleeping again!

LO slept from 9:30-2:30 then 3-5:30. I could get used to this.
If anyone is looking for a good workout do Jillian Michaels 6 Pack workout. It's on YouTube and definitely made me work. Its more like a full body workout rather than just abs. It made 30 day shred look like a walk in the park.
Ugh....more snow expected today. Yesterday I visited with my nephew, family etc. I'm a little annoyed with how over the top they are about everything. There was already an in depth conversation amongst them about how Owen could ruin Christmas for Matthew (my nephew) because my husband and I aren't so traditional. Well now I find out there is an in-depth convo about how they plan to explain their penises being different and how that's ok. My son is intact. Ok, really? They are six months and two months old. We are far from that bridge if we get there. I for one never saw any of my female cousins vaginas so this is really something that doesn't deserve this much thought. It's already annoying me as husband and I are obviously much more laid back in our parenting approach and I'm tired of hearing how they are preparing for the "damage" (my choice of words) my parenting will have on my nephew. I also am super sore from the gym the other day. And I ordered a new (one size larger) pair of muay thai shorts for class.

LO was fussy last night, he didn't want to go to sleep at his normal time, but once he fell asleep at 11 he slept until 5 or so like normal! Going to try to get out and have some fun with DH on this snowy day; we got 6+ inches and they canceled his work. Bad news is he has to work on Saturday now and that means he is going to be tired before our date night even starts. (We are going out with friends to a concert and I am going to get my drink on )
School called for another snow day today. That should now extend my maternity leave to April 20th instead of the 15th!
My maternity leave was consecutive days regardless of whether we worked or not. We had a week off for Christmas during my leave which didn't impact the length. Mine was based on FMLA though.

I got my hair cut yesterday. Took off over 4 inches! I have naturally curly hair, but I've never worn it 'natural' simply because I have no clue how to style it. Last night was my first time wearing it curly. .. And I'm not sure about it. I feel like I belonged in the 80's. Once I threw it up in a sloppy bun I liked it. Anyway, I'm going to style it normal today, so I can actually see my cut and the layers. Hopefully it's good.

Ours is based on duty days. Using FMLA means 60 duty days of leave. Snow day means non-duty day and no need to use leave. My leave was already longer than 12 weeks because Spring Break doesn't count since its non-duty days.

DH was taking care of LO last night and decided to offer her the bottle of pumped milk in the fridge instead of waking me up to feed her. Cue rock hard boobs after 7 hours of <amazing> sleep. I was a mixture of totally pissed and totally grateful.

we were supposed to get 2 inches of snow and got 5 instead. therefore this mornings commute was terrible. I wish my husband had warned me that I had to clean the snow off the car and shovel the stairs. He leaves an hour before I do and he actually did call me this morning but only to remind me not to lock myself out with baby in the house. thanks for putting that fear in my head.

I'm Beau and I'm going to be a fussy turd from 5 until 7:03 then I'll pass out in a nice deep sleep when you need to wake Alaynah up for preschool. Fuck you mom.

I have naturally curly hair too and it took me long time to fall in love with it. Now I will never go back to straightening, its so much easier to go natural

I've been lurking bmb birth announcements. Makes me want to do it all over again. Liam is barely a month old, and I'm kinda wanting another. Even though I've said I am done.
LaBellaVida, I fought with my curly hair until I was 13, and then I made peace with it. DH hates it straight, so I almost always wear it curly, and it saves me a lot of time. I vote for natural!
@littlefoote, I hope you all get well soon.
My first day back at work is going ok. I kind of don't like when people look you up and down and say, "You look good for having just had a baby." Ummm...thanks?
My friend (I use that term loosely) said this on FB, and I typed up a response but then decided to stay out of that battle. So he thinks moms with kids should not be welcome at Starbucks? If they want to spend the money, they have just as much of a right as anyone else (and probably need the caffeine).

Mason is our first but I've definitely been thinking about when we will start trying for our next and he's 2 months old! My husband doesn't know it yet but I think I'll get my IUD out August of 2016. I have a whole plan worked out. This is what happens when I'm left alone all day! Haha
On a different note, I've been trying to catch smiles on camera, he seems to know when I turn it on. The smiles stop instantly and I get this face...

After a week long of fussiness, hardly any sleep, and constant eating, my lo is starting to cheer up, babble, and give the cutest smiles. I'm really loving being a mommy. It's so hard to describe the love you experience to those that haven't gone through it themselves.
