I'll start since it is technically Monday where I live. Guise, I just had a dream and I had my own AC!!!! It was my size, and even more comfortable than imagined. Mine was cream and I had a PB blanket, the same as Hayley's in red but again, my size. I just had to share...continue with your sleep and I'll try very hard to visit today and not make this a drive by.
wedding - C just started banging his crib around lately and pulling up as far as he can on the rail. I'm with you though, DNW the toddler bed.
Thinking of you beckyj2013. The home stretch is the hardest.
mamasoup030 - your DH should look into a you-sized AC. I know we were overall not into push presents but I think we would all agree on that being an awesome one.
We all had a good night of sleep, especially me (thanks to DH's inspired performance last night, not sure where that came from but niiiiice). We got another 2-3 inches of snow last night so the roads are a bit sloppy. Better go get C.
I swear Hannah knows when it's a week day morning. This weekend she slept till 8ish after her wake ups. All of last week and today she woke up at 5. I don't like it.
Good morning all! Sorry I've been an especially big flake this week. I started my new job last week and we're still trying to figure our schedule out. This weekend was rough--FIL had a heart attack, causing him to fall and break his hip. Since they're still in OH, we can do nothing. He also has beginning dementia and all of the pain meds aren't helping. He may be going into surgery today to fix the hip and the cardiologist only gave him a 50% chance of making it through :-( But the alternative is him being bed ridden the rest of his life, which we all agree he wouldn't want. Ok, DD over. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.
ggandlee, how are things? I've thought about you all week, just haven't been able to tackle the dailies yet.
I don't remember if I ever gave the run down after my conversation last week about that Tempe job? I don't want to repeat myself in case I did, but it was kind of frustrating (though not surprising) and a big part of why we opened the 2nd bottle of wine on Friday night.
In other news, my right pinky is horribly bruised. C is all about smashing ALL THE THINGS and I got in between his music box and the floor at the wrong time. It hurt so badly and now it looks so incredibly odd.
Also my parents are smoking again and I am so incredibly frustrated by it. I know they are going to get bent out of shape since we'll spend so little time at their house and because C will always go to my ILs if we're out of town instead of their house. Basically me trying to keep my kid away from 2nd and 3rd hand smoke is going to be turned around into me being a judgmental bitch. I am so over having this same conversation over and over!
kellykinns, ugh. I hope you get an update on Doug soon and both of you experience the magic that is Zofran.
I dared venture into the office this morning and it took me 2 hours. Sigh. And I can't get my car out of the garage because it's too icy after it snowed again last night. Is it spring yet?
My parents are back in town from vacation so my mom came over to watch E this morning. He was SO excited to see her. It was adorable, and I love that he's so close to my parents.
JoeLies, sorry the job stuff is frustrating. Feel free to share if you want, I wasn't around most of the weekend and would have missed it.
DH and I are in a tough spot. I am confident we will come out of whatever is going on with us OK, but it seems we have both been not communicating well lately. We are going to have a long talk after G goes to bed tonight. Blah.
Looks like Cadence gets to stay at dc despite the rash. It doesn't look as bad as yesterday, but if it was the first time you were seeing it you would think it looks bad. She slept through the night and was in a great mood this morning, so I'm pretty sure she is fine.
My coworker keeps asking me to help her mail out the school boxtops. It isn't hard to mail packages here, so I wish she would just figure out how to do it herself. She emailed me first thing this morning and I told her I needed to wait until Cadence got dropped off to make sure she got to stay at dc otherwise I would need to go home. Her response basically made it sound like her boxtops were more important than me picking up my daughter from dc. uh....no...
kellykinns, I hope you and Doug both feel better soon!
Does anyone know if there is a Hologram baby yet??
Sorry your parents started smoking again JoeLies. Please do not feel like you are being judgemental.
It's not quite the same because it's not my parents, but I have an aunt and uncle who smoke in their home and I have refused to take V there. They always get upset with my parents when we come in town and refuse to go visit them at their house. They are more than welcome to come visit us, but they don't because they feel insulted. I refuse to feel bad about protecting V from that.
I'm getting discharged. They are checking Doug for fly, rsv and doing a chest xray since his cough is still really funky. In addition to dealing with the reason we are here.

ke2009- good vibes for your FIL today, hoping for the best outcome!
@kellykins, glad you are being set free and they are checking Doug out, but I'm so sorry you are dealing with this, thank goodness your mom is there too!
Tgrimes- I promise to update to the best of my ability when it's my time! I can't wait for a hologram baby update, I saw a thing on the news this weekend about the holograms and had no idea it was a real thing, I assumed it was a sign and our friend was in labor. No clue why, but that's what I decided.
Thankfully we only got snow not the ice predicted as well, so I got to work fairly easily this morning which was a welcome surprise.
I got a mini bottle of champagne as a favor at a bridal shower, would it be inappropriate to bring it to the hospital for after the baby is born? I feel like I've earned it. (ggandlee is that even safe?, I can't bring myself to ask by MFM that question!)
JoeLies I think this baby might demand a push present, especially since it's due within 2 weeks of my birthday! (FTR -Usually not in favor)
kellykinns Hope you're both feeling better soon. Glad your mom went to the ER with you.
ke2009 Sorry about your FIL. How is your H handling it?
We had thunder and lightning last night, and I was worried it would wake A and scare him. Luckily, he slept right on through it. No coughing last night and minimal nasal discharge today, so maybe he's finally kicking this cold.
karadee - Good luck with your talk tonight. It's so much harder than I thought it would be, to focus on being parents without losing sight of being a couple.
Doug and I are almost back at my parents house. picking up nausea meds. I'm definitely still vomiting but at least I'm rehydrated. We feel like crap. Good thing we have my mom to take care of us. I need a nap
JoeLies do they actually say that to you, or do you just think that's their perception? My mom and SD smoke a ton. Not in the house, thank goodness, but they smoke so often it's hard to enjoy our time together because they are constantly hanging around outside.
Good morning, everyone! We are off to a very late start here. In fact, Josie is just sitting down to have breakfast.
I found a Big Lots about 30 minutes away from me, and I was about to stock up -- thanks for the tip.
In other news, MH and I used to teach together in the same department. My work wife and MH are in a bit of a fight. It's awkward, and I've avoided calling her all weekend. They are supposed to talk this afternoon.
Hope you and Doug are feeling better, kellykinns. That is not a vacation.
kellykinns I hope that you both start feeling better and your luggage shows up soon! I lost my luggage the last time that we went to the UK, but I had a feeling it would happen and put half of my stuff in DH's suitcase and half of his in mine. Even doing that, it was inconvenient. The lost suitcase had our warm weather clothes and Wales was in the 80s. All we had on us were sweaters.
Hi from us! We've been busy. I'm trying to get B down for a nap but she's not having it. We'll just hang out here until DH's soccer game tonight. I'll post pics of her in her tshirt that I made.
kellykinns,I hope you both start feeling better soon! That's a terrible way to start a vacation.
JoeLies, That's frustrating, and I completely hear you. My MIL started smoking in her house again and it drives me crazy. We're not over there all too often, and when we ask if they can babysit I always prefer her or my FIL come to our house. I prefer FIL babysits, because he always likes coming to our house, MIL is a little more difficult to press on it, she's a big homebody. BUT keep in mind, my IL's only live a couple houses down from us, so it equally annoys me when she huffs and puffs at coming to our house to watch M. I mean, c'mon, it's a 2 minute walk, you will survive.
lfigge, I hope you get your much needed break soon!
Guster - Awkward. I hope they can work out the problem.
Not too exciting of a weekend. Tried to take M to get his blood draw on Saturday, and she could not find a suitable vein as they were "too deep." She tried one time, but couldn't get it, and said we should come back later (not this weekend, but next - when she'll be there again (the other person doesn't do kids, I guess.)) and to give him some gatorade before coming and lay off the milk. I really liked her, she was patient and gentle with M, and he was good, just cried at the poke, but was otherwise cooperative. He recovered quickly when we were done. Looks like they'll be taking two small tubes to test. Here's hoping next time she can find a vein easily, and we can be done with it.
We had SD for awhile on Saturday. We watched Beauty & the Beast. It was just as good as I remember, lol. I think SD had a bit of a stomach bug because she was in the bathroom a lot, and I kept sending DH to make sure she washed her hands good when she was finished. Her aunt said her stomach was upset a day or two prior, I'm just hoping M doesn't catch any of that. Other than the frequent bathroom trips, she was acting okay. Ate some lunch, etc, and said she was feeling fine.
Yesterday, finally finished up packing up the rest of M's 12 month clothes. Cleaned his room, did other housework. Woo woo. Haha.
