Ok forget McDonald's, you all need to experience All American in massapequa, ny. It is the real deal. Think McDonald's, but not gross. It's been there since at least the 50s and has not changed. I would meet any of you there, it is the grandfather of fast food, it is what fast food was meant to be before the big corporations bastardized it. @cfox, you lived on my island at one time, please tell me someone took you there!
Oh. My. Gosh. YES! She's been a completely different kiddo. Her sleeping has gotten so much better (aside from her usual wake-up time between 5:30-6am but...it's to be expected when she goes to bed by 6:30). We just got her custom ear plugs for swim lessons (which started on Saturday and she LOVES IT). I'm truly hoping that daylight savings next week pushes back bedtime and in turn, wake-up time. I'm torn, though. Monday-Friday I love that she's up at 6 so I can bring her to DC at 6:30 and be able to get to the gym by 7 before work at 8:30. Weekends? We just want one. more. hour. She's also down to one nap a day on weekends (not just at daycare) which is tough but...we get through it and she's getting used to it. We just have to keep her stimulated and entertained or out of the house; that's the key.
Glad to hear it's working out so well! Where did you get the ear plugs? I have been wondering what I need to do this summer. We have avoided swimming up until this point because I'm concerned about how the water will effect his ears.
The audiologist at our ENT got them made for us. They did a mold of her ears (that was a fun experience...) and sent it out.

There's one in CT like that. It's called the Sycamore, and it's incredible. They make their own root beer, too!
JoeLies, it might be close to you, if you haven't checked it out.

The runner just said she has had pink eye for the past 3 days. She said maybe Cadence gave it to her, I guess via me, since she has never met my child.....uh...no. She is also still wearing her contacts even though she has pink eye. BAD idea.
Thanks, Cherhorowitz. No joke, I'm sobbing in my kitchen. I don't know what's gotten into me.
It's scary. You're setting a date for a surgery. You're bringing a second child into this world. You're allowed to be scared and cry. But I'm your friend so I'm going to be excited and tell you it will be ok.

Not far at all, though we have a drive-in in town that's supposed to be incredible, and we STILL haven't made it there yet. DH loves a good burger though, so it shouldn't be too hard to convince him that we need to go...
Thanks for asking. He is actually doing a lot better today!! Yay!! He is still extremely stiff and has bad pain off and on, but he has been able to significantly drop back on his meds. Thankfully, his urinary retention seems to have improved but is not yet resolved. Yesterday he got his stitches out. He is disappointed in the wound repair, and I absolutely agree, it could have and should have been sutured much better. I love suturing complicated lacerations in the ED and take great pride in the cosmetic outcome and the work that I do, so this really drives me crazy. However, I am not saying a word about it and when he brings it up I try to be positive, and like mamasoup030 suggested, I am trying to convince him to come with a cool story for it. This afternoon he wants me to drive him around to get out of he house. Actually, let me clarify. He wants to drive himself around to get out of the house. Obviously he is insane, still high on drugs, and clearly not yet back to his normal, logical mental status. Not only is he still on powerful meds, he can't turn his head to even look at his side view mirrors, much less check a blind spot! Crazy dude. So, I will be chauffeuring him around anywhere he wants to go.

Is it weird that when I first meet someone (IRL or online), I make immediate assumptions on if I will get along with you or not based on what you named your child and if it's a name I like? Cause I do that.... It's probably weird...

I do that. I don't think I'd get along with anyone who named their child Angel, Crystal, or Brock. There are more, I'm sure.

kfran84 that really annoys me. Vowel sounds and phonics don't just get thrown out the window because you decided to have some SS spelling. I swear, if I see one more variation of Brooklyn I will lose it.
