GTKY: Favorite place for ice cream/fro yo/soft serve/etc.

Since it's Friday, I don't think we've done one of these in a while, and I'm hungry; what is your favorite place to get ice cream treats?

I'll start - I love Culver's custard. I worked there for 8 years during high school and college and it's a Wisconsin company, so I feel loyal!

I will make any excuse to stop for a concrete shake or a strawberry mango lemon cooler in the summer.

I grew up in a town with a home made custard shop so I am partial to it. I don't live there anymore but do like Culvers.

Andy's Frozen Custard. They have this thing called a James Brownie Jackhammer, which is peanut butter and brownies swirled in vanilla ice cream, with a hot fudge center. I love it, but DH and I usually split one so I feel less guilty. He's learned to just let me go at it until I'm done because otherwise I get grumpy that he ate to much of the hot fudge center because it doesn't go all the way down.

We have a place nearby called Mercer's. My favorite thing about them pre-pregnancy is they have wine ice cream. Who doesn't like getting buzzed off of your ice cream? We had it at our wedding last summer and it was awesome.
We also have what I believe is an upstate ny place called Stewart's. I went there 3 times this week
I read that the baby needs all of the calcium right now so I use that as my excuse. Plus I walk 3 blocks from work in the middle of the day to get it.

They are currently building an Andy's Frozen Custard by my house. Never had it before and I CAN'T WAIT.

You'll love it!  They have crazy lines sometimes, even in the winter, but it's just so good.

The closest thing to our house is a Froyo joint. It satisfies my craving.

I love going to get ice cream at mom and pop shops. Mint Chocolate chip ice cream is my favorite.

The local fro yo place is Sweet Frog. DS can't handle regular ice cream, so it's become my favorite.

There's a creamery near me, 15 minutes away, that has to die for homemade ice cream. They're always packed especially on beautiful days, so in a pinch I'll settle for Cold Stone.

Aaaaaaand now I want ice cream. Guess I'll be picking some up today at the grocery store.

We have an ice cream place called CREAM (Cookies Rule Everything Around Me) where you can pick any flavor ice cream and cookie and they make you an ice cream cookie sandwich (or you can be boring and get scoops/cones). It's only been here less than a year but it's my favorite!

We also have a parlor called Loard's and I like going there for fancier ice cream dishes like Sundaes.

For ice-cream, nothing beats Thrifty Drug Store ice cream

For fro-yo, Yogurtland is my go to

For soft serve, Tastee Freeze

A place in Conneaut Lake/ Meadville PA, called Hanks. It's homemade frozen custard. I would kill for some rigt now. Sadly its 1.5 hours away from me!

Mmm I do love Culver's! I can't decide between three choices as my favorite, though! In alphabetical order:
Culvers - so creamy!
Jeni's (local foodie chain that's rapidly expanding)- love the funky flavors
Tofts (near Lake Erie) - love the variety and once again, so creamy!
Now I need ice cream...

My favorite place was a local in my hometown called Dairy Ripple --- their shit was amazing. It has since closed though

There is a good mom and pop shop near our house now in Michigan that is delicious. They have ice cream and fro-yo.

I prefer these types of places compared to the larger chains, although I do love me some Culver's custard.

Living in a small town, my option is going down to the antique shop and getting ice cream cones. And it's so awesome and so much nostalgia with it! There's also a lake by here/my parents farm that I went to a lot growing up that I love getting ice cream cones at just for the 'taking me back' feeling. I usually get mint chocolate chip or cherry cheesecake.

Otherwise, if we're in the city DQ and always switching up my order! I love that they came out with salted caramel truffle and need to get one, H already did.

I used to like Dairy Queen but the flavour of the one in our area is not very good. It leaves a funny after taste. My favourite is gelato at our heritage days festival. You can get it in these little cups and it's so delicious.

Another ice cream place is COWS. There is only one location in my province and that's about 4 hours away. I discovered them on a trip to the east coast a few years ago. Now I want to go for a road trip. lol

There are a bunch of mom and pop ice cream stands near my house and those are my favorite. One of them does vanilla soft serve with a swirl of another flavor in it and I always pick orange so my cone will taste like orange creamsicles. The local places also have strawberry shortcake and brownie sundaes that I love.

ETA: My favorite chain ice cream place is Coldstone, because, duhhhh

I grew up on Baskin Robbins, so I have always loved that, but Cold Stone is my favorite around here.

I just edited my post to say they are my favorite chain.  I love their ice cream cakes-- DH and I get one for our shared birthday every year.

Not too many mom and pop shops in Brooklyn, but for Ice cream I'm definitely a carvel kinda girl. And for frozen yogurt, I love Red Mango. They have the most delicious pomegranate and peach frozen yogurt topped with fruit, and cookie crumbs/cookie dough/peanut butter cups. Yum.

We have a local ice cream place called Frosty's....no indoor seating and they only serve soft serve ice cream and hotdogs and chips. I've grown up going there and remember sitting as a kid and making that "honk" signal at cars when they went by. Now I always honk when I pass because I know it makes the kids happy;) just drove by today! I hope my daughter has fun childhood memories like that:)

CREAM is alright. I wish the ice cream didn't melt so fast in between those freshly baked cookies haha.

I like Ben&Jerrys. The owner of the one here makes me amazing milkshakes. He use to even deliver to my work. It was amazing. They closed it down for a few months but he's opening a new one on the 1ST!!!! I will live there till baby comes.

I'm a total SS on this and I'm not eating soft serves or froyos. Just regular icecream. We have this awesome gourmet place that mixes crazy combinations. You can get brownies with peanut butter in chocolate ice cream for example. Drooooooool. Lucky/unlucky it's a good 35 min drive away.
