All three of us crashed in bed around 9pm last night. We woke up around midnight for a feeding and food for us since we missed dinner. LO actually completely ate her bottles last night. Whoo hoo!
Daycare lady has been feeding LO rice cereal and my homemade sweet potato puree at two meals a day all this week. I have no idea what we're in for this weekend, feeding wise.
Liam screamed like he was in pain like all night last night. Finally gave him tylenol around 2 am and he slept till 4 am. Woke up crying and screaming again. We stripped him down, checked everything. He was scratching his face like crazy, so I lotioned his face up a bunch, I think it was his teeth, though. His gums are crazy swollen right now.
I definitely caught Hs whatever he had. I am achey, head is pounding, nose is a faucet, etc etc.
Took 45 minutes to get him down for his nap, too. I need strength today

jjh1119, ugh! I'm sorry! I hope he naps well today.
Today is Monday here. I love it when Tuesday is Friday, but not so much when Friday is Monday. We're going to the store just for something to do...
Oh, and H has developed this habit of coming to bed at midnight and waking the baby, who then needs to be nursed back to sleep. So he's basically adding an unnecessary motn wakeup/feeding and reverse sleep training. I've told him to quit it and last night he was "coming to bed" at 10 pm. I'm going to tell him tonight to just sleep on the couch if he's up past 11 or so.
jjh1119 Channel your magic mom strength! You can do anything!! gldnbearz I hope for you that lo will take all her bottles! I have two picnics to attend today. My excitement level regarding both of them is below the floor. I wish they weren't for work so I could drink as many beers/cocktails as I really want to. Oh well. Maybe when I get home. It's Friday, woot woot!!!

the problem with the current at age that our babies are in is the fact that we think fussiness and screaming in pain is related to teething when it can be something that requires medical attention. My LO recently had an ear infection that we missed thinking the disrupted sleep, painful crying, and fussiness was a combination of teething and digestive distress related to starting solids. the doctor noticed the ear infection at his 6 month checkup.
Long story short, don't be quick to assume painful crying is teething.
sjp03 you're right, it's tough to distinguish. His gums were definitely far more inflamed then they have been. However if he still continues to be fussy today a call to the dr will definitely happen

gldnbearz- Hope this weekend goes smoothly for feedings. jjh1119- Poor LO! Isaac has been having night screaming fits too but more out of anger. I hope you feel better soon! wildflower810- How annoying! I would be so mad if DH did that. Luckily he passes out on the couch on the nights that he is up playing video games. zengal- 2 picnics? Wow! I could see one. I love picnics but not giant ones. In fact I asked DH for a fancy picnic for my birthday next week.

Isaac angry screamed every time DH got up to tend to him in the late hours. We take turns. DH did not work today so he took last night but Isaac was not having it what so ever. So I got up and held him and went to nurse him but he fell right to sleep as soon as I held him each time. I think he just wanted some mommy snuggles. DH told me to pick my menu for my birthday picnic so I am working on that this weekend and we get to have date night on our anniversary. I love May! It's full of celebrations with my family
songbirdsinging55 I'd be all about a picnic where I got to choose the menu and hang out with my family! It's just hard to get excited for ones where I'm pretty sure there's going to be awkward socialization and disgusting hot dogs. And! It's outside of work hours and I'm not getting paid.

Lame! No pay? Will they have those awkward games like 3 legged race and egg toss or something like that.

Yes, exactly! Oh my goodness. Calgon take me away!

Seriously, why do work events have to be outside of work hours? You want me to bond with my team? Give me the afternoon off to do it and I won't be so grumpy about it.
jjh1119, teething pain: during the day we give LO a mesh feeder filled with frozen skinless apples along with various frozen toys. luckily we haven't had any middle of the night teeth grumps yet.
songbirdsinging55, my birthday is coming up too! i have no idea what i want to do, if anything. mother's day we just hung out the three of us and it was my favorite. i'd be up for that again.

G'Morning! Happy Friday! Unless it's your Monday, then boo! The missed ear infection is one of my fears. Myles plays with his ears all the time. He doesn't seem to be in pain, but isn't that a sign of an ear infection?

gldnbearz,Nothing wrong with crashing!! Or midnight snacks!! jjh1119,Wishing you good naps today. Mikey's face has been dry lately too. I use a babyganics face balm stick on him at night and he's usually better by morning. wildflower810,I'd definitely make him sleep on the couch!! zengal,Picnincs?? I want to go on a picninc!! songbirdsinging55, So, to get what you want you have to tell DH? Is that how that works? I have a fantasy in my head that if I want to do something that DH should magically know on his own because he's awesome....then...he doesn't. He used to, I think he's lost his touch. No surprises for this girl anymore.
DH heard from one of the jobs....said they will be looking to schedule interviews in the coming weeks and he is in the final round pending that he isn't chosen and accepts the other position he applied for. So, that's something.....but ANOTEHR FEW WEEKS?! GR. Just GRRR. I'm griping abut it today BC SS is going on his first big trip by himself tongiht and I can't even see him off because I don't get home in time. :/ Just another thing I have to miss because of this crap-ass commute.

ETA....stinking quote box not working right.
This...I see these people more than I see my family. The last thing I want to do is give up more time to spend with them. I respond no to all work events.

jjh1119 I hope the sickness goes away soon. Hoping Liam sleeps for you today. wildflower810 Your H should sleep elsewhere if he can't avoid waking up LO. songbirdsinging55 I'm sorry Isaac mistreated his daddy last night, but you got snuggles.
I'm reading along and love titting, but have no energy to tag anymore. My brain can't keep anything straight.
Liam woke up and is playing with his grandma. Time for me to finish cleaning upstairs, but all I want to do is nap. He seems happy and pain free.
DH suggested Liam saw a ghost in his room and that's why he kept screaming every time I put him down in the crib. I told him to eff off because he knows I'm afraid of that shit lol.
Turns out H came to bed at 11 last night after doing the dishes, I think M woke up at 12:30? I can't even remember anymore, honestly.
I came home from the grocery store to an official letter from the IRS. Great. I opened it and it turns out that they are issuing us a check for $200 because we miscalculated our penalty for not paying estimated taxes. - We did pay estimated taxes - We didn't pay a penalty - But sure, I'll cash that check in a hurry!

I was all for zengal 's picnic till I heard it was outside of work hours.
pixie523,To top it off this is the kind of ish I deal with here....I walk into the lac room today to go pump....someone left their pumping bra all laying out on the chair. They probably just dropped it but we have a HUGE table so I really don't even know how that would happen. People are gross man, makes me wonder how they live at home. I mean, I have an infant, I work an 8hr day with a 4hr commute and I'm not gross. Granted I have my showerless days and laziness about picking up at home sometimes but people here are sometimes downright dirty. We have wipes in the room, no one uses them. Sometimes there's leakage on the table or the arms of the chair like there was a Milksplosion 2000 and these chicks just leave it there. Not cool. :/ I'll leave here asap thank you.

So reading through everyone's posts over the last few days, I feel like pink eye is really common. Add me to the group. I think the last time I had a stye was in high school and now I have a painful swollen lump on my bottom eyelid. What the hell?

My child tries to bite my face.
Our pediatrician said that while people think ear pulling is a sign of ear infection, he finds it to be incredibly unreliable. It is really hard to know when to take the kid to the doctor and when it is nothing. The only symptoms LO had with his ear infection was a change in sleep pattern (more motn wakeups) and increased fussiness. So many benign things can cause that!

Feel better. I do remember someone else had pinkeye earlier this week. Was it ninergirl52 ?
spiraltheory, My kid also tries to bite my face. I see it as her way of trying to kiss me/be affectionate. She also pulls on her ears. I have wondered if it could be an ear infection, but she has always done that and doesn't seem to be in pain. I think she just grabs onto anything that comes near her hands, her ears included.
littleapplemom, That sounds disgusting... When I was living in the dorms at college, I was always amazed at how gross some people could be. Like, being disorganized is one thing, but I saw a few rooms that looked like an episode of Hoarders.
LO has taken 2 naps in the crib today! We are finally having some success with this. Yay!
