I am always looking for something new to get into. I just saw a post on Facebook about Mad Men and it being in someone's top 3. I need more than 3, so please share with me your top 5 favorite TV shows ever.

1. Gavin and Stacey 2. The IT Crowd 3. Dr. Who 4. The X-Files 5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Freaks and Geeks
Honourable mentions: Seinfeld, The Simpsons (Until like S13, it loses marks for not ending) Battlestar Galactica, Portlandia, Startrek TNG, and Derek.
ETA: Sorry Buffy is going to HMs as I forgot about F&Gs. I did not put GOT on the list, because as much as I love it, I love the books 100 times over, even though it is an amazeballs adaptation. I also have huge feels for all Joss Whedon projects, including Firefly. I get angry over that one since I watched it religiously when it came on the air, and most of my friends who love it so much now only watched it when it was on DVD. I ask them: WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE NEEDED YOU!!! Andplusalso I have way too many feels about TV...
easilyunamused, where is Mad Men in that list? I would agree with you almost 100%, but Mad Men is hands down the best for me. Even MH, who loooved The Wire and Breaking Bad and thought the first 3 episodes of Mad Men were a little boring, was totally converted to Mad Men obsession when he finished all of season 1.
I don't have a top 5, but shows that I've binged watched on Netflix:
Friends Gilmore girls Mad Men Sherlock Fringe House Hunters Internationl The Almighty Johnsons Parks and Rec Drop Dead Diva Reign Doctor Who King Julien (kids show, but so hilarious with adult humor) Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
After last night's Mad Men finale, this was a tough question! I'm having a hard time deciding where to rank it because I love it so much....I think Breaking Bad is still number 1 for me, though.
1. Breaking Bad 2. Mad Men 3. The Wire 4. Parks and Rec 5. Veronica Mars

H keeps telling me that I would love The Wire, but I just need to find time to dedicate to it.

It is really great, but also very very depressing and sometimes hard to watch. I really recommend it though! Each season takes a look at issues in society- like with public schools, or city politics, and focuses on that. It feels very true to life. There are so many characters it takes a few episodes until you feel like you understand what's going on- but once you do, you're hooked!
Orange is the New Black (patiently waiting Season 3 in June) True Detective (also waiting for Season 2) House Grey's Anatomy (the earlier seasons I've watched over and over) Parenthood (I'm so sad it is over)
Big Bang Theory (I always watch them because my husband could so fit into the gang) Modern Family ETA: Forget How I Met Your Mother (I'll watch re-runs whenever it is on)
Nerd Fandom: Supernatural Doctor Who Fringe Buffy the Vampire Slayer/ Angel (spin-off to Buffy) Firefly (**it hurts, there's only 1 season**) Haven (syfy) Big Bang Theory
